I just didn’t like Katherine as a character. She seemed way too uptight. I like the ending where Vincent goes back in time and gets to be with Catherine, not to mention it means their friend is still alive in that ending.
I didn't liked Katherine either. If you notice, when she said she was pregnant for the first time, she isn't looking Vincent, like is very on the nose that gesture. The developers tried for you to notice. That means she already know she wasn't. Also she's very controlling and manipulative at that point. But Catherine... Rule over hell and having a harem of succubus?... But is we need to be on the ground, the middle ending is also better, start again on mars? The best option
24:13 The "peak unattractiveness" bit reminded me of a fandom in-joke when the game first came out about Vincent dumping all his character creation points into being stupidly great in bed, explaining why both love interests had such a hard time quitting him.
And in the Catherine ending with the demons, he essentially out-sexed a whole realm of sex demons and came out on top. So I think this is super accurate.

Firstly, it furthers the idea that Catherine really was all just Vincent's (the player's) imagination, and you get to pick the choose the voice that best fits Vincent's (the player's) fantasy. Secondly, Atlus KNOWS a good chunk of the player base will be fans of the Persona series, so might as well throw in all the callbacks to the characters in P3 - P5 and seduce you to pay for the DLC. It's interesting that this game has a multitude of different endings, depending on how well you do with the puzzles, what choices you've made during the confessions, and what answers you pick at the climax when you finally confront Catherine, Katherine, and/or Rin (Qatherine). In my case, Vincent in my playthrough had an epiphany that he needed to take control of his life and be more assertive with his decisions, so he declined all the ladies and asked Boss for a $50,000 loan for a wrestling match bet, with Vincent winning the big bucks to pay off Boss and sporting a bank account "having a lot of zero's". He travels/lives in outer space in pure wanderlust, in order to do some soul searching (the Freedom-True Ending). Crystal was on-point that Vincent is far from a well-adjusted fella, going through the motions of his relationship by lying to himself and denying his true feelings about what he wanted in life. He also didn't enjoy his dead-end job or the company of his friends beyond simple drinking buddies, and then there's the fact that none of the Catherine's (Catherine the Succubus, Katherine the Human, and Qatherine the Alien) were good matches for him anyway. In my mind, it made the most sense for him to stop wasting Katherine's time so he can follow his life's ambitions without making those would be miserable. In the final cut scene, he seemed very adjusted and content ("Why live a life without doing what you want? That's just a recipe for a life of misery..."), which is more than can be said for most of the game's other endings.
It might be weird, but I swear Catherine's (yes, with a "C") endings are actually the best from Vincent's perspective, especially the one where she goes back in time. Literally everyone in it is happy and the other is... Well, it's just epic, isn't it?

I played the original when it was new; I loved the game (I got all endings), but this new version has my new favorite ending; when you have full order but choose Catherine. Another thing I liked about this version is you can choose Catherine voice (at least when you are playing with japanese voices).

Some games are like Strangers of Paradise. These games are played as serious and straightfaced and are unintentionally hilarious as a result. Then you have Catherine: a game that knows its a complete shitshow and *revels* in it, and end up telling a surprisingly mature story as a result.
Katherine may be too good for Vincent. But I do believe that despite what happens that they can make the relationship work, of course if you make the right choices in the game
@@brodaforlife she is really good, too good for him maybe. But she's not perfect either. Her out right lying about something big like pregnancy.. That shows some pretty big immaturity. Even if Vincent himself is more immature. She's still the healthiest option. Followed closely by Rin really. As she's such a good sunshine person (not using labels for obvious rsssons). :)
They all have their positives and negatives. Kathrine represents stability, she is smart and mature, but is also somewhat controlling. Catherine represents freedom she's fun and outgoing, but is also a bit invasive. And Quatherine represents innocence, he is thoughtful and kind, but is also very naive.
@@darryljack6612 mmhmm. I think it's a good representation of life imo. No relationship will be perfect. But it's the work you put in imo. And if it's truly worth it. :)
so rin basically disappeared because you went on a path that didn't invovle him, and so he disappeared from the plot. Maybe if you pusued his route you would've seen more of him :3 Rin is exclusive to full body and likely exists because, well, both Catherine and Katherine are...kinda terrible. Katherine can be overly critical to a fault and, more egregiously, LIED to her boyfriend jsut to see how he'd react, and then brushed it off as "a mistake". And Catherine? she's a murderous demon punishing the unfaithful and the scared on Mutton's behalf. She like ACTUALLY caused people to die. Rin basically exists as an easy, unmorally complicated option. (he wasn't in the original version of the game) Did Crystahhl ever find otu Erica was trans btw? cause that's the reason why one of VIncent's friends was uncomfrtable when TOby talked about her. Because he knew her as Erc prior to ehr transition. Vincent friend is kinda a douche.
I could imagine some parents shoving their 10 year old away from Catherine after looking at the box art, because they believe the game is "pornographic", when it actually isn't. Rather, Catherine is one of the most difficult games on the PS3, and sorta counts as a MegaTen spinoff.
Catherine is such a great video game for me that it opens up a lot of things about life, relationship, and marriage. It opens a lot of perspective that some people can't see and understand. The great thing about this game is that as a man you get trapped in this game are not all cheaters or unfaithful to their partner. Some of the sheeps in the game are in the dream because they're not following the "natural" way of being in a relationship or getting married or being married. Look at Vincent and his friends. Orlando gets dreams because he obviously cheats even though he's in a relationship. Jonny gets dreams because he likes Katherine even though he knows she's in a relationship with his buddy. Erica and Rin (sorry to say this but this is what I understand in the game's context) they get those dreams too because they don't follow the "natural" way of getting in a relationship based on their sexuality and they like people the same sex as them. Especially Erica who fooled Toby not telling him that Erica is a "he" Except Toby who is in that path of what the Boss speaks, he knows what he wants, he wants to get in a relationship, and he is focused on the person he likes. The details on this game is just really good, I hope she plays the game more to get all the endings.
Game ain't half bad. The gameplay itself is pretty addictive too. I only played through 1 side of the story where the MC is faithful to his girlfriend and I wasn't expecting the twist at the end. I also figured out something else that wasn't apart of that route with the speaker of the confession box. I don't know how many routes their are. 3? 4?
22:28 It's pretty interesting to go back to this video after watching Crystaahhl's DeSu playthroughs since a character in DeSu 1 says the same thing about angels and devils being the same lol
I played it too and was surprised that I couldn't restore the love but in the beginning they say that you must lead the character to freedom Now that he no longer depends on a relation, that is real freedom , game complete I Guess

Crystal I don't know if anybody's told you so but in Persona 3 Portable during certain dates at the Paulonia Mall club there is a man sitting in a corner drinking alone that looks just like Vincent the only difference between them being a single mole under his left eyes but he will tell the player about these nightmares he's having that go over the plot of Catherine it is one hell of an easter egg since at the time Chatherin had yet to be released for the PS3
2:31
She subconsciously recognized Jamieson Price
I played the original when it was new; I loved the game (I got all endings), but this new version has my new favorite ending; when you have full order but choose Catherine. Another thing I liked about this version is you can choose Catherine voice (at least when you are playing with japanese voices).
Crystahl only one night in: Boss is the hidden villain of this game
Me: Oop-
I honestly really hope they make another adult protag game they're always so fun
I haven't played it yet so I wouldn't know, but aren't the protagonists of Soul Hackers 2 also adults?
@@piercingmoon24 it is, but to be honest i haven't heard many good things about the game
@@hearttmuse soul hackers 2 is pretty solid
the dialogue and characters of this game eclipse any persona writing quality wise
I love this game so much. I wish they'd port Full Body to Steam. Only the original is on there.
"More stress would make it better"
*five minutes later*
"Oh my God, oh my God, I can't do this!"
Ya know I started watching this channel when you started playing P5R and seeing you get sponsored is pretty surreal.
Awesome conclusion !!!
I actually dated an awesome girl. And i was a mess...a lot of unsolved problem and didn't know enough about myself, and it was a total failure at the end because of me. Now we are 3 years laters have changed a LOOOOOOOOOOOOT , and fixed all the sh*t in me, it would be today completely different, and would work ;)
fix your sh*t, and be functional before trying to find love 🐮
I really hope you looked up the other endings. This game can get bonkers. Can range from Katherine getting famous and Vincent being alone, or Vincent becoming a demon ruler with Catherine being the top among his demon harem, to aliens and having a dinner party in space.
Funny coincidence for me, i've actually had 2 girlfriends i two-timed back when i was in highschool, named Katherine and Catherine. This was like yearsss before this videogame existed, so imagine my amusement/surprise when it was released.
So obviously i tried playing it out of curiousity. I actually find the game quite good and addicting.
It would be even funnier if your name was also Vincent
& three friends named Johnny, Orlando, & Toby
@@teresabejma4477 that would've been scary tbh 😂 names of the girls are all that's similar tho. That, and Cath being the sidechick. Other than that, there's not much similarities or they're even complete opposites. Like in my case, Kath's the flirty/horny one. And me just fooling around back then and not having midlife crisis like Vincent. But i feel him NOW. 😅
Remember when this game was played on EVO?
Man, good times
I haven't played this version but the original haunted my dreams with those damn box pushing puzzles
Today I learned that Crystal's impression of Donald Duck is alarmingly accurate. Also, she answers the confessionals VERY quickly, and follows through on solid philosophy.
I wouldn't say life begins with marriage, but I wouldn't say it ends either. It's just a new phase.
Some games are like Strangers of Paradise. These games are played as serious and straightfaced and are unintentionally hilarious as a result.
Then you have Catherine: a game that knows its a complete shitshow and *revels* in it, and end up telling a surprisingly mature story as a result.
16:05 Okay that song why those line really fit.
all i remember about this game was that I got Rin's true ending and it was WILD. i was so confused lol
15:52 that worked out so well for yosuke
Bruh this shit hit different now that I’m an adult this shit is 12 times better this speakers to me personally now
Katherine is the best. There I said it.
She's for sure the most stable. But I do love Rin too. :) but Katherine is the most like, suitable and good, healthy out of all of the relationships
20:16 ahhhh yep I just remembered your P5R playthrough XD
so rin basically disappeared because you went on a path that didn't invovle him, and so he disappeared from the plot. Maybe if you pusued his route you would've seen more of him :3
Rin is exclusive to full body and likely exists because, well, both Catherine and Katherine are...kinda terrible.
(he wasn't in the original version of the game)
Did Crystahhl ever find otu Erica was trans btw? cause that's the reason why one of VIncent's friends was uncomfrtable when TOby talked about her. Because he knew her as Erc prior to ehr transition. Vincent friend is kinda a douche.
0:55 in and Crystal has the whole plot figured out 🤣
38:06 just had me dying of laughter! Such a great reaction~
Would love to see you review the other endings
SHE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!!!
Chaos ending it's the best ending 🤣
You not only ended up with Catherine, but also rulling over hell and a Harem of demoness 🤣
legit my favorite puzzle game, and it’s made by the same company that made the puzzle boy minigame in nocturne…
Holyshit I was about to binge your playthrough on the VOD channel aswell.
Now the other endings! Gotta get that LORE!
Especially Erica who fooled Toby not telling him that Erica is a "he"
Except Toby who is in that path of what the Boss speaks, he knows what he wants, he wants to get in a relationship, and he is focused on the person he likes.
The details on this game is just really good, I hope she plays the game more to get all the endings.
16:04 That's 100% on you for choosing P3 music
If I learned something in the puzzle passages of this game, its that Catherine is all about Edging.
i am glad i got my kigurumi ty stahhlll
22:28 It's pretty interesting to go back to this video after watching Crystaahhl's DeSu playthroughs since a character in DeSu 1 says the same thing about angels and devils being the same lol
The greatest betrayal is not having spoken to Golden Sheep when he came to the bar 😢
wotdahellareudoing was one of my favorite parts of the stream.
Wonder if she knows there's like 5 different endings (i think there's that many at least. 3 like main ones but variations too)
Spoilers:
God I'd love to see her reaction to the ending where Katherine fully breaks up with Vincent & she becomes like, a model in the future.
She had a stream on twitch watching them all.
@@FraaXGamer nice!!! That's awesome she saw the Rin one too. And the naughty Catherine one ;)
Full body is a wine reference since the game centers around interactions in a bar.
1:38 ...is that Mama's bar? time to polish the bonito
I played it too and was surprised that I couldn't restore the love
but in the beginning they say that you must lead the character to freedom
Now that he no longer depends on a relation, that is real freedom , game complete I Guess
17:02 yooo didn't think I'd make it in lol
5:23 I think your smt 4 playthrough says otherwise 😭😭
Crystal: Why did that many people choose accidents hsppen
Me who played both games: *Will Smith posses* _atherine
2:44 The best Game Over theme ever
I never knew I needed a Namazu onesie until today
24:20 i may not know enough about his personality or habits but i can say for a certainty that his looks are fine .
1:48 that image is so much funnier if you already know the story lol
I would say true freedom is happiness, but Akechi would probably kill me.
0:50 I hate how this isn't even wrong.
I had no idea you were Canadian! HELL YEAH!!! I’m just gonna say it this one time. . . *Inhale*
*FOR REAL?!*
to me the best ending is catherine alternative,I Mean She Turns back time and Save Everyone, also there is not cheating anymore because of her meeting vincent before he starts dating Katerine,Also their Relationship is Wholesome and their kids are cute Fight me.
How does crystaahhl manage to figure out the plot/boss of the games like that? Is she psychic or something??
3:44 she…she manage to figure out who was the main villain…at the beginning of the game!?!? She’s either too smart or I’m just dumb. Cuz I couldn’t figure out who was the villain until he revealed himself 😂.
The final speech about how being a mess ruins relationship stressed me out but it’s true isn’t it lmao
46:03 This is no normal gun... this is the Colt 1851 Navy, the gun that started it all
Q-Rin being bulled by Sting's old backup band.
1:53 What?! You almost gave me a heart attack
4:50 I prefer Last Surprise or Willpower
6:08 Sounds like what Ann said in Hawaii
8:43 Morgana- I just threw up in my mouth
Me- ruclips.net/video/7mQBAjNlThU/видео.html Keep your feet to yourself you sicko
10:05 I wonder if they were in the original game
14:47 Joker, no, JOKERRRRR!
19:23 What am I looking at?
38:07 Willpower
45:22 Chaos Control
Idk why the walrus onesie is a FF14 reference
But it's cute either way
Its a namazu and they feature in the game
Haven't got to Stormblood then lol
I have just had the Catherine ending where I end up asking Catherine to Marry me and her Demon father appears and goes nuts.
Yeah that is Catherine Caos,Try Catherine Law(Golden ending)
