From my experience with my highland m3p- FSD worked amazing as long as the roads were marked really well. Faded lines especially yellow caused some issues for sure. It struggled with any kind of bridge entrance though and I always end up taking over in those situations
I've been using 12.5.5 since the morning of October 1. I haven't had any issues like this. I've used it for over 100 miles now and there were only a couple of minor issues the first morning I had it. Other than that it has been Flawless through complicated intersections and heavy traffic including a construction area with workers in the street.
Great video!! Clear to see the Tesla fsd is not quite there yet, unfortunately. I am not sure we're they get their miles to disengagement statistics. Also, i think a study should be made on how much fsd increases driver anxiety, frustration, anger/road rage. Should be a good indicator on how good an fsd system is and acceptance of fsd over time.

I felt like FSD has improved quite a lot for driving on local roads, but it has gotten a lot worse on the highway, specifically with ramps. It either ran down the exit at extremely high speed or missed it completely.
Very entertaining to watch! I checked out the trial a few days ago on my Model 3. I set it to Chill Mode and I think adjusted the follow distance to the furthest, and I didn't experience any harsh stops when the car in front of me stopped. It seemed to be okay there. There were a couple of instances where it almost fully braked at a green light thinking it was red and I had to step on the pedal. Another quirk was when the speed dropped by 20 km (I'm in Canada), it braked pretty hard. I think I need to play around with the natural speed setting, maybe. Otherwise it was fun to play around with, and I'll try it a few more times before the trial ends.

So serious question: If he was working with the car, as in using his human intuition of when to change lanes, accelerate, brake and just completely take over (which yes means consistently activating and deactivating the system), how "worth it" is it? I know its not fsd like it claims, but as a driver assist tool, it would seem to me that working in cohesion with the fsd system as an active and capable driver would make for an awesome and easy daily commute. It would almost be like sharing a steering wheel with another driver, swapping control back and forth as desired. Is this correct? Is it worth it? Or are there to many mistakes or sketchy instances to risk it?
I had fun trying out FSD on my 2020 Model 3 but, even watching this video is bringing me back terrible memories and I am also stressing out like if I was the one inside the car with you. Tesla has come far but, still not worth the money even if I can get it for $2,000 since I have Enhanced AP.
If in assertive drive mode the vehicle adds complications to the end to end AI calculation to try and deliver balance. The example of being in a middle lane, during traffic hours, and not merging far right in time for exit is a problem that can usually, atleast at this time, be solved by switching to the “chill” profile. The path taken will focus more on staying to the right rather than keeping up with the middle traffic flows. This will result in easier exits due to not having several lanes to cross.
Amazing, thanks for sharing! Where I live in São Paulo, Brazil, we have infrastructure for these types of vehicles, but our streets often have speed bumps that force drivers to slow down. I haven’t seen Tesla vehicles handling this specific challenge, though-perhaps certain areas could have technology to help detect and slow down for these obstacles.
There’s always trade offs to everything, but the upside of the FSD on the cybertruck is you don’t even need to constantly nanny for road imperfections and potholes. CT will just cruise right over them without worry
Crossing a double yellow line is not illegal at any point as long as there are no cars coming and the double lines only mean that you have to take extra caution, only crossing solid whitelines is illegal
VC 21460 does provide certain exceptions, allowing drivers to cross double yellow lines in California when: Turning left at an intersection or into a private driveway;
I have the M3 long Range and I used to have some of these issues but the last few updates have pretty much fixed them I wonder if the cyber truck has an older version of FSD.
Wahahaha I laughed constantly bro!!! I love FSD on my MYLR based on where I am at(lot less busier city). I would not trust FSD there in California, definitely a lot of butt clenching situations!!!lol Thanks for the vids! -superfan in Calgary Alberta 🇨🇦
I Turo’d a M3 with 12.5.3 a couple of months ago in SoCal and had all kinds of bad experiences, similar to what you shared. In comparison at home in Montana I have a M3P with 12.5.4 and a Cybertruck now with 12.5.5. Both work really well, the M3P is more polished. Because we have so much less traffic, the late lane changes are much less consequential, in general. And I heard your wife say ¡DALE! (Go!) like an Argentina. Did she live there before?
Every time it didn’t anticipate cars slowing down and it comes in and slams on the brake the last second should be considered a mistake as well. It needs to be able to anticipate all of this and smooth it out
I wonder when it missed the transition to the 22 FWY was bc it sensed heavy traffic. Decided to exit and re-entered. When I first tried out FSD, I thought it malfunctioned when it chose a route I wasn’t familiar with. But it turned out it took a shortcut and saved me 5 min.
I definitely noticed similar things in my 2021 SR+ M3, the biggest consistent issues I see in select spots is FSD waiting way too long to get over for an exit, and cutting people off, but it usually does it when trying to get out of the rightmost lane. I know where I live, no one usually stops fully at stop signs, so I notice more impatient and enraged drivers when I or FSD stops fully at stop signs and waits the legally appropriate time. There is one scenario when I get close to home, that FSD struggles, there is a protected left that it doesn't want to take even when the light is green, the light is slightly obscured but the visualization recognizes it. Immediately after this turn you have to take a right turn and it won't get into the turn lane unless there are other cars in the turn lane and in the straight lane. To clarify this is really only small moments or parts of the drive, it handles many other weird scenarios flawlessly. My commute is 35 miles and goes through the city, heavy construction and tight two lane interstate travel, several ramps and mergers on winding roads and bridges that give human drivers a hard time, and people always do something that FSD has to defend against. I am in St. Louis MO and drive across the river to Edwardsville IL. It does all this amazingly but there are two turns on the interstate. It does weird things with its turn signals but drives great other than in high traffic not getting over soon enough. The issue with passing someone and then wanting to get over immediately and cutting them off is a wild card that I have to watch out for. Still this makes my drive great and less taxing than actually driving the whole time. Also A.S.S. has been really good for me so far, and my friends, family, and co-workers find it intriguing and they are usually stunned.
I think it's kinda funny saying Tesla is 10 years ahead or that you never have a problem on freeways, and then it hugs the left side, misses your exit, and runs a red light. I've seen some FSD videos with Model S and 3 that look really good, so is this just an issue with the Cybertruck or FSD in general?
New things take time to get better. You can’t compare a Y to a CT as of now. The Y of course should drive better cause it’s been out longer and has collected more data and info from Tesla drivers. In due time once the CT has been out longer and more people start getting them…enough data (good and the bad) will be there to better the system specifically for the CT.
Test drove a Tesla Model X sometime last year and I didn't have the guts to put it in self-driving mode simply because it wasn't my car, but overall it was a fun experience. I love the acceleration and handling.
kind of hard to explain but my only issue is when i am turning left on a 4 way intersection, and a car is turning right onto my way, because both cars are turning, usually we dont have problems but my tesla also hit the other car. and i have to manually steer it away.

That was very entertaining! You guys had ME stressed! LOL!
I haven't used FSD on my cybertruck but maybe a handful of times but I haven't had any interventions here in the Shitcago land area so far
haha
Amazing, thanks for sharing! Where I live in São Paulo, Brazil, we have infrastructure for these types of vehicles, but our streets often have speed bumps that force drivers to slow down. I haven’t seen Tesla vehicles handling this specific challenge, though-perhaps certain areas could have technology to help detect and slow down for these obstacles.
There’s always trade offs to everything, but the upside of the FSD on the cybertruck is you don’t even need to constantly nanny for road imperfections and potholes. CT will just cruise right over them without worry
Bro, even with a Model Y LR I still miss exits. FSD 12.5.4 not sure if it’s the traffic or the weather affecting it
dang... I gotta test it again
Crossing a double yellow line is not illegal at any point as long as there are no cars coming and the double lines only mean that you have to take extra caution, only crossing solid whitelines is illegal
Wrong. Solid white is a recommendation, do not violate the double yellows.
no way. I thought double yellow is always illegal. Unless its a solid yellow and dotted yellow in CA
VC 21460 does provide certain exceptions, allowing drivers to cross double yellow lines in California when:
Turning left at an intersection or into a private driveway;
@@stanleyypoon interesting!
I was so glad once you guys parked, had my cheeks clenched too @_@
I have the M3 long Range and I used to have some of these issues but the last few updates have pretty much fixed them I wonder if the cyber truck has an older version of FSD.
Are you not supposed to put your hand lightly on the steering wheel ?
not anymore! All vision based
Can’t wait to try this in same place!
haha DO IT LIVE BABY!
Wahahaha
I laughed constantly bro!!!
I love FSD on my MYLR based on where I am at(lot less busier city). I would not trust FSD there in California, definitely a lot of butt clenching situations!!!lol
Thanks for the vids!

Haha thank you!
Did she live there before?
coming soon: "earlier and more natural lane changes"
This is certainly much different perspective than Whole Mar's videos.
Every time it didn’t anticipate cars slowing down and it comes in and slams on the brake the last second should be considered a mistake as well. It needs to be able to anticipate all of this and smooth it out
True
use speed offeset. Even though it may still be slower than the setting it usually isn't as bad as auto offset
Wait there are IR leds on each side of the interior camera?
I wonder when it missed the transition to the 22 FWY was bc it sensed heavy traffic. Decided to exit and re-entered. When I first tried out FSD, I thought it malfunctioned when it chose a route I wasn’t familiar with. But it turned out it took a shortcut and saved me 5 min.
Nah the Navi was showing to exit still. It just didn’t think in time. If you rewatch you can see where a human would merge
It's so annoying when FSD misses the exit!
wifey asking to park away from work to save face in the cybertruck. perfect.
Hahaha
That's why I only use fsd on the freeway. It makes too many mistakes in city streets.
DId you poop your pants with FSD 🤣🤣🤣
a little haha
Yeah do it again in the Y
Finally I was waiting for your video!! 😊
haha thank you!!! Let me know how you like it!
the hard braking makes FSD so unusable for me
End to end highway is new only on the CT. That’s why the other model FSD is better and more refined on the old stack.
Your wife is hilarious too😅
lol ty!
I’m thinking cyber truck
New things take time to get better. You can’t compare a Y to a CT as of now. The Y of course should drive better cause it’s been out longer and has collected more data and info from Tesla drivers.
In due time once the CT has been out longer and more people start getting them…enough data (good and the bad) will be there to better the system specifically for the CT.
Agree. It will improve as it always does
tesla fans always acting like fsd is ready for primetime but also not ready at the same time e
YES DO IT IN THE MODEL Y.
I OWN A TESLA MODEL Y AND I LOVE FSD IN IT.
Test drove a Tesla Model X sometime last year and I didn't have the guts to put it in self-driving mode simply because it wasn't my car, but overall it was a fun experience. I love the acceleration and handling.
Bumper stickers are must at times with FSD lol - For me it's in the residential areas at stop signs.
DO IT AGAIN IN THE Y!!!!!!!! I gotta see that video! this was teenage driving 100%. Can't believe it took SO long to move over for that exit omg lol
haha will do!
kind of hard to explain but my only issue is when i am turning left on a 4 way intersection, and a car is turning right onto my way, because both cars are turning, usually we dont have problems but my tesla also hit the other car. and i have to manually steer it away.
What does FSD stand for?
The late merge is annoying on turns, offramp, and onramp
He needs to push the signal button to instruct the car to move over sooner. It will eventually get to the fleet and train better.
i feel like FSD is designed for model 3/y size. maybe thats why it keeps driving over yellow lines?
Yes please do that route in the Y!
