To address something that people have been commenting about when it comes to Framerate on the Sim. It is very frustrating because i have a very powerful PC But ACC still isn't very well optimized. Somedays i can run the sim on the highest settings without a problem, and somedays i can barely run it on the lowest settings. Not sure why it does that. But in this video it was running ok on my screen its just OBS Decided to be a pain and show the game like a potato. So, very sorry if this annoys you, trust me it annoys me far more.
boot into your bios and enable XMB profile It would help with all that stuttering on your stream

In my case, shadowplay works better than obs in this game.
ACC is Optimized fine. It's either your PC or you dont have something setup correctly.

If you think these things are expensive, let me introduce you to Brazilian prices on them (and keep in mind that our minimal wage is R$ 1.100,00 per month):
My Logitech G29 cost me about R$ 2.000,00 plus R$ 439,00 for the shifter. A simple G29 that looks like a toy, not even close to a sim wheel.
Now, for the Fanatec prices:
- DD1 base: R$ 15.420,00
- Podium Porsche 911 GT3 R Wheel: R$ 6.147,00
- Clubsport V3 Pedals: R$ 3.933,00
- Clubsport SQ V1.5 Shift: R$ 3.114,00
- P1-X sim racing cockpit: R$ 9.888,42 (converting from € to R$ and adding taxes, without including the freight)
So, to have a simliar rig as yours in Brazil, we have to spend about R$ 38.502,42. This is more than 35 months of minimal wage. Brazil sucks. It's really hard to live here. These kind of things are only for the very wealthy people. You guys live in heaven!
Sorry for the rant, I was so happy to see you enjoying your sim, but sad to know that I would need to gave up on so much other things if I want to have fun the same way as you.

This Fanatec Podium wheel base will last you a decade and then some, and you probably won't ever need a new one.

It's the same thing with musical instruments (which I am guilty of). I have a guitar that's worth more than the racing rig I'll be buying (Fanatec CSL Elite, VR, and 80/20 aluminum cockpit). And that's just one guitar - I have a bunch!

@@fr3ak1shh I don't have expensive guitars as my most expensive is an Epiphone SG Pro that I bought for... 500 euro there abouts. Yet I do own a Yamaha Tyros 2 XXL keyboard since just before they released the Tyros 3 successor. So that cost me what... 3500 euro? That's what my secondhand BMW E46 Compact 316Ti with only 110000km on the clock cost as well.
Meh... as Zwenk Wiel says... often it's expensive or inexpensive compared to one's bank account and how much value you'd personally give to owning something.
Yet at the end of the day... like they said in Monthy Python's Life Of Brian's song "Always look at the bright side of life", they say... "You come with nothing. You go with nothing. So what have you lost? NOTHING!!!".
In other words just enjoy life the best you can and in the way you enjoy it most as long as you don't hinder the freedoms of the people you encounter that are just as free to fill in their own life they see fit.
If you want to buy a direct drive, get a direct drive. If you want to play a good guitar, get a good guitar. If you want to regularly go to a quality sex worker... hey... it's up to you, mate!
Just make sure you make the most of life and sometimes you can be a bit selfish about it but we also should never neglect the fact that the best joy to be had is in sharing experiences with our loved ones.

Driving on the left side of the road is wrong because it is the right side to be... well, the right one. Seriously though congrats on the mighty DD1, really a great choice!
Although I find the best investments (in terms of BANG for the BUCK) I ever made for sims were a good "VR headset" and a "Motion Platform" (I use a relatively affordable Next Level V3).
Those two combined were the real game changers IMHO.
That combo of v3 pedals with the g920 is what I'm saving for right now. I have the G920 already, but brake pedals are probably the most important thing for getting faster laps.

What kind of idiot thinks getting load cell pedals is a waste of time? Rather the buying mid range thrustmaster shit, I'll upgrade the pedals. DD will have to wait a year tho.

Yes! Be careful! I have one of the 1st version DD1, and I recently shredded my rotator cuff after crashing. I've since removed the torque key to avoid re-injury. Still hurts like hell.

I went from G29 to CSL and that was a huge jump in feeling and details (still happy with it) but I can imagine how this jump must be!!

*Fun Fact:* Race tracks usually go clockwise, so the driver seats were on the right side to compensate the higher number of right turns.

Should have bought a Simucube 2 pro. Absolutely kills the Fanatec. Not a single glitch or problem and stellar performance for 10 months. Absolutely rock solid. With the best quick release I have ever seem sim or real car. Newton meter crap is so over rated and not important. You want something that gives the best fidelity. Never go over 36 nM - you’ll wreck your wrists.

Love my DD1 ( was lucky enough to afford the PS4 version, I wanted to colors and the rim). Made a 10-Series version of your same cockpit too with my NLR GT-Ultimate seat. Only thing different about our rigs aside from that is the handbrake :) Congrats! Watching this made me appreciate my setup so much more :)

honestly the G29 is a great wheel still. but if you want to upgrade to something that is still better id recommend a fanatec csl elite or clubsport. What i did in the first place though when i was using my G902 is was i upgraded everything else around me piece by piece. I started with getting better pedals, probably the best thing to upgrade.

Looks good man. Glad you got the SimLab Podium Mount. Its the only way to properly mount a Podium wheel.
I'm british too.....but since 95% of sim cars are LHD the shifter goes on the right.....
I get it, but I'm a dirty bonnet cam player so my sim rig is set up how it feels most intuitive, which is shifter on the left 😏
Oops, somebody did not read the instruction manual on how to put the wheel on :D If you don't take up the slack with the compression ring before putting the wheel on, the compression ring may have some play under load as the rubber ring may not be seated properly.
That wheel has nearly as much torque as my 250cc Honda.

Yeah its great! I run the dd2 with the same wheel, got the nice petals as well as DOF H3 while racing with the vive pro. Man racing has never felt so good!

Warning!
Within 4 months of light use my FANATEC McLaren wheel cracked at the shifter pivot point and where it mounted to the QR. I was accused of over tightening although I used a torque wrench set at 3nm.
FANATEC then replaced the wheel chassis admitting in writing it was a weakness in the wheel.
Very soon after my CSL load cell pedal failed. I sent a video before sending the pedal set back as requested.
I was required to make a follow up email after not hearing back.
FANATEC said they can not fault the pedals asking if I want then sent back which I found a strange thing to ask?
Eventually they were returned however within minutes I experienced the same issue which was consistent with magnetic interference from the CSL DD wheel base before the load cell pedal would completely shut down.
I was beyond my limits at this point and driven to warn as many potential customers as I could while demanding a replacement.
Following the usual delayed response, FANATEC then offered a replacement only if a show proof that they faulty load cell was again on its way back to them.
FANATEC’s poor response time drove me to desperation.
Keep in mind I have owned this new product for around 6 months when 2 major failures occurred.
An electric technician overheard my experience and offered assistance.
I was able to demonstrate the issue and within minutes the technician diagnosed a defective voltage regulator attached to the load cell circuit board.
The voltage regulator is designed to reduce 5 volts coming from the wheel base or USB down to the required 3.3volts. There was no signal out of the regulator which he replaced.
No thanks to FANATEC I am now enjoying my sim racing again while I hold my breath for the next FANATEC failure.
Please take my advise and look at the FANATEC’s own forum in regards to all the issues they have and their terrible customer service.
Manual shifts are my favorite even though I don't have a car or can get one
Most people: goes from a g29 to a t500/csl elite or something like that and later maybe upgrade to direct drive.

i think it depends on where you looking from for a rich guy with a varid car collection that ocasionaly do track days this could be a great training aid for him and 5000 euro setup with all the equaly high quality component to the wheelbase will deffinitly be worth it to a person like compare to the toy like setup of the g29 that might harder to relate to the real deal now for a casual gamer its probally not so worth it dishing out somthing that cost more then 5x times a decent gaming pc setup just to play 1 genre of game.

Question - why did u go with the P1-X chassis? I'm looking at the GT1 Evo and as far as I can see, the difference between the P1-X comes with a thicker bottom frame and a support for the shifter. In Canada, the P1-X is 1400-1700$ and the Evo is 800-900$. Seems like alot more for the P1-X for some reason.

Coming from a gear driven Logitech to a DD wheel I get that there is a huge difference. But if you have ever get the chance try a csw2.5. it's not as good as the DD of course but the details of the road you feel are the same. It only does it with less torque. Other belt driven wheels can't come close to it.

I use a logitech g29 and an Ikea table (flex), with an extra bit added on to mount the shifter on. I tried having the shifter on the right side, but it just felt *wrong* , it felt like trying to write with my left hand.
I've got no plans to buy a direct drive wheel because of the cost, but I would like to try it at some time.
I wouldnt, I'd be terrified that i HAD to get one, and bankrupting myself. By the time you bought the appropriate driving rig, pedals, shifter and wheel you'd be over THREE Grand!!!

@@CoyoteRacing its the Bottleneck effect between cpu and gpu. I had a i5 6600k paired with gtx 1660ti, huge stuttering at 2560x1080 after i chenged the CPU now everythings runs smooth
@@ivanjack8341 Yes i had an i7 3770k with a gtx 1080 and upgraded to amd ryzen 5 3600, it's so smooth and consistent. Night and day.

Great set up you got there now. I have just purchased DD1 for the PS4 with V3 pedals, handbrake and shifter. Did you have any problems updating drivers/firmware?
The drivers can be a little bit fiddly but there are plenty of videos and forums on how to do it perfect. Hope you have alot of fun with your DD1

Just curious, when contemplating a DD wheel, did you consider a Simcube base v's Fanatec, or only Fanatec.
If you did consider the Simcube, what was the reason you chose Fanatec?
I only ask as I am considering the step up from my logitech g29 to a direct drive and don't know which I should buy. Some people have warned me that I may not like the Fanatec. They were thinking of buying one but we're lucky enough to try them out before purchase.

You really need to mix this setup with VR. The immersion difference from a screen to a VR headset is probably as big a leap as belt to direct drive wheels. I have the Logitech wheel still, but I can't race a game anymore without using the Rift S. A screen just doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm completely ruined by the immersion of VR

Well this is possible for iPhone if the developer bother to program in the Taptic Engine feedback also Nintendo switch 3D rumble. This is what I have been lamenting about the feedback, This is also why I love about console in the past the feedback I could feed starfox smashing the staff on the trees and ground the graphics does not matter also the story has to be good.

Assume you could use a sim labs evo cockpit instead of the P1? Little lighter but like half the price.
You can go for a much cheaper wheel on the base and keep the full driving sensation ;-)
