First time I heard this song I was laid up in a VA hospital near Chicago Hines VA recovering from being hit in Vietnam. I saw this beautiful nurse and we married a year later. Two kids and four grandkids going on 50 years together with my Flower Girl. I really love this song for the very reason I mentioned.

This song Just floods me with wonderful memories. So simple but beautiful and makes you tap your toes
actually its not that simple at all..its way more complex than most modern pop most of which is predictable...this has more interesting chord progressions, dynamic and tempo changes than todays pop.
After all these years this song still touches me. I always tear up when I hear it, especially the part where Bob and Susan sing the background "hello how do you do?", for some reason that line always brings tears, maybe because it reminds us of how polite people used to be to each other. I long for those days.

The Cowsills gave birth to SO many bands, including my favorite retro one, Jellyfish, the keyboard for which is Roger Joseph Manning, who plays for Beck now. Anyway, I will never tire of this music. It's magical.

I believe I saw the Cowsills at the Topsfield Fair north of Boston when I was in grade school! 🌺🌸🌿
When my parents sang this song I didn't understand the lyrics, what a beautiful story and now that my mom is no longer with me I sing it with my little children and it has become our favorite song. We are in the car listening to it and singing at the top of our lungs.

A song that got stuck in my mind forever in '68. I still can clearly recall seeing this on the usual variety TV fodder, back when variety shows were still a thing. We were so young. Now we're so old and some haven't made it this far. Melancholy. Heavy hearted melancholy for all those years and the people that are gone.
They make me very happy, happy, happy.
Just tuned 70 dec 17th and i can remember this group like yesterday.

Back in the day when I was cutting my teeth as a drummer, we garage bands who were busting our humps trying to cover Cream or Hendrix took a dim view of the "bubble gum" genre. But with guys I made an exception. Their warmth, their honesty (remember, this was when the dubbed-in Monkees were cruising the charts), and their harmonies. Ah, yes, their harmonies still raise goose bumps. Keep it up, guys. More flower power to ya!

I was five years old when this song came out. My wife was a florist, and I heard this song in the store she was working at in 1990. I had a crush on her even before we went out on a date. We were married three years later, and this song always reminds me of her.
