While Lenny Stogel did play an important role in the Cowsills national breakout in 1967, Songwriter producer Artie Kornfeld was also a huge factor in their early success. Kornfeld believed in the group to the point where he independently produced and co-wrote "The Rain The Park and Other Things" MGM Records bought the master and signed the Cowsills to the label.
