Susan was my first crush. A young man always remembers his first crush. Hell, I am nearly 67 years old and I remember well. I fully suspect that she was the first crush for a lot of young men back in the day.
It wasn’t cool to admit being a Cowsills fan when I was a teenager but their talent is undeniable. Glad to see them still making music together although some family members have passed on during hard times.
I know what you mean. Some people are so judging of happy, lighter music. I'd usually follow up my love for the Cowsills with how much a fan I am of Black Sabbath, Hendrix and Judas Priest also. That shut them up.
@@blue-fj9ky The good thing is you see things differently now than you did back then . To admit you were wrong gets my respect and that tells me your not a snob anymore your a good person .
Susan is something else, isn't she? She always has been! Talent and enthusiasm in endless supply. They all sound fresh and new. Throw out the calendars; they don't seem to matter anymore.
Back in the day, they were considered very bubble gum in my circle of riff raff. When actually I was covertly a big fan of theirs. I love watching little Susan dance her heart out. The whole family was extremely and honestly talented and little Susan dancing just added an extra entertaining element. The Rain, the Park and Other Things just takes you back in time to a better time and place.
i am 71 years old now, and this song reminds me so much of when i was a young man and actually loved a flower girl, here where it all started in the san francisco bay area. GROOVY.
This is just unbelievable...'The Rain, The Park, and Other Things' is 55 years on 2022 and still sounds amazing played live by the original members...That's crazy!!!...Man they sound great!!...Loved this!! Thanks for the share🤝
Thank you so much Rob for posting this! I always ❤Ed the Cowsills. They are still sooo amazing after all these years! I am so glad I was born in 1958 and got to hear all these great songs! This was REAL Music! God Bless 🙏!
We're getting old Mary, born in 58 myself and grew up with their music the best part of this video I think is they got the 2 best songs that they ever did... I hoping to see them one day live before my ticket is punch I have to give Susan my 10$$
@@tats7859 Hello 👋! Yes, two of their best! I love ❤️ it when singers/groups sing the songs just like they did originally and do not make any changes! God Bless 🙏and Take Good Care. I hope we both get to see them someday!
Mary I'm not far behind you I was born in 1963 my parents loved the Cowsills I started listening to them when i was 7 id play my mothers 45's all the time she would just smile at me constantly .
I remember being parked with my girlfriend and listening to the Flower Girl. When Indian Lake was a hit, I was deep in the jungles of Vietnam with an infantry company. Still going strong at 79 years and 48 years with a great gal as my wife.
I love the flower girl and Bob, Paul, John and Susan! I miss Barb, Barry, Bill, and Richard. Thanks for the joy you have given me and always will! Hugs from Issy.
Loved you guys so much ❤️ sorry for all you went through, you just came to Kansas city Missouri and I missed it you were with. The Association, Turtles and ??? Forgot, I hope you come back maybe to Ameristar Casino, I could see you forsure there 🙏 PLEASE
Grace may have truly been the acid queen. But Susan Cowsill as far as I'm concerned is The Flower Girl.Susan U just keep on doin what only U can do.U truly are the Flower that keeps on blooming.
@ rick kilgore absolutely.. The fabulous Grace Slick just turned 83 on October 30th. She along with the surviving members of the Jefferson Airplane were inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame a few weeks earlier. She is the original Queen of Rock. Susan undeniably.. the flower girl of The Summer of Love..🌺 ✌️
Still awesome!!! I was a little girl when “The Rain, The Park and Other Things” came out on radio, it was my favourite and I loved it so much it would make me cry of happiness when I heard it…😂🥲❤🥰👏🏼
Sadly many of the original band are gone now but the ones that remain sound AMAZING!!!! How wonderful to see them together still touring and making music together! This makes my heart sing!👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️Thank you, Cowsills! I love you!👏👏👏👏❌⭕️❌⭕️
The Cowsills bring heart, love, and flower girl power to this present day performance. The Summer of Love has not left the stage with this musical band. In 1967 the flower girl was everywhere and I was a nine years old kid enjoying the radio knowing "she would make me happy... happy... happy." And if the song was heard playing in 1969, I was still a kid then... and that is all that mattered along with the rain, the park, and other things.
I can remember listening to this song on WIBG Philadelphia AM with a transistor radio that faded in and out depending on which way you stood and had a speaker the size of a quarter. Now I listen to the remaining Cowsills perform live on a computer with stereo speakers. Who would have ever thought?
Sure I love the sound of them singing the old big hit.. but to be standing... doing it with so many family members gone.. I love them even more.. bob, paul and susan.... I love you all!
@VHS Dungeon i think she has always been precocious ever since she was 7!! i have always said that people should never act their age - it's one way of growing old quickly!!! the cowsills should seriously think about playing at glastonbury next summer!!
Absolutely Remarkable Vocals !! One of OUR Favorites and Now one of our Favorite Bands... Thanks so much for the Memories and great to see you still able to more than handle your Iconic Sound...
If you remember correctly The Cowsills were just young children at the time of this 1967 hit and it's amazing that they're still out there in 22 with very tight harmonies as they did back in the day got to love these guys and Susan
They continue to bring such joy and nostalgic magic to each performance. Hoping someday they will be recognized for their wonderful gift to American popular music. And hoping John will someday re-join them for a few gigs.
I was 13 when I bought both these 45 records in '68!! And such an awesome performance almost 55 years later...love it thanks Rob, thumbs up and a sub from somebody who remembers...gt
WOW! I have been a fan for years and have seen them on the HTT...but it wasn't until just now that I noticed that Susan, Paul and Bob were NOT the only ones on that stage singing!!! I had NO idea!!!
Never heard of the cowsills here in the UK. When I was 15 I got a mono Buddah cheap LP in the local chemists of the lovin spoonful hits. I loved those two albums vol 1&2, I still sing those songs to myself even after all these years. But hearing the cowsills for the first time playing live with those wonderful harmonies, has brought back all those memories of listening to the spoonful amid all my adolescent worries. Will be checking out lots more of their music.
Their voices and harmonizations are still AMAZING! So gifted. Listen to the power of those voices.
ditto!
I totally agree!!
@@robkenny100 the support for the cowsills is growing!!! glastonbury next year?
They actually capture that 60s sound live. It’s good to see these family members survive.
Which is amazing considering the asshole they had as a father.
They still sound amazing.
These guys made this 62 year old goat very happy....✌🥲
Simply one of the most incredible “feel good” songs …. 55 years, simply remarkable…chills 😀….flower girl reigns !
I totally agree!!
I agree also. It’s bringing back better days. 🌺
Makes me proud to be a flower child. Such a great song and they are still right on with their singing.
Susan is and always will be the flower girl.
Exactly 100% .
Susan is and always be HOT TO LOOK AT

Yep. I was a bit of a snob about them. The same for Herman's Hermits and the Monkees. I was wrong. They're all great!
Well It's definetly Cool today in 2023 for sure and it was then to in the 60s Jogriff , I bet they secretly listened to the Cowsills as well 😉.

The only thing that is 'cool' is what YOU decide and what works for YOU. Never mind what other people think.

Amazing voices after all these years.....love that song and love this group 2022.
Still love, listening to the sound about as good as they did when they started. It’d be nice to see them in this area, but this will do.
Loved this song on Super Gold every Saturday night in the 70s. RIP to the others gone too soon.
