We're Eric & Allison and we're on a journey to find the most interesting places and unique foods this planet has to offer! We've traded in our steady paychecks and permanent home for a life of travel and adventure. Come along and see the world with us!
I'm all about retro but man for your purposes you really do need something reliable. I hope you stay safe. Im enjoying your videos and how eternally optimistic you are.
Omg, that waterfall was outstanding!
Right?! It seemed to be bigger every time we drove past it. It was so cool!
I would love to see u guys build out a truck camper like this one. This is exactly what I would love to do.
You guys are funny and fun good clean family fun I can watch with wife and kids no cussing no trash keep up the good videos !!
Chuck won't take a camper with a slide. You need to watch your GVWR. It is easy to go over the weight rating with a camper on a 3/4 ton truck. I have a Ford F250 and my 1996 Lance camper is right at the limit.
That thing is like the Tardis, it's bigger on the inside!
If your fridg is too cold or hot you can adjust that by moving the :theromister", it's the little plastic thing on the right side of the aluminum vains in the back. Up is colder, down is warmer I think.
Yes, that's a clothes drying line for 'damp' clothes or the towel you just dried off with after your shower. Maybe your swimming suit/trunks after they've been wrung out to just damp. And you're right! No dripping wet clothes!
Also, with the addition of more modern solar panels and larger inverters I'd change out the gas stove to an induction cooktop and the gas oven to a double door front opening electric air fryer oven in a heartbeat! Don't forget to change out the gas fired water heater and storage tank for a tankless electric water heater! Way more compact and also a far less chance of fires like the Beans!
But wasn't the Beans a leaky fuel line?
Yessir, I believe you are correct. I just dislike gas appliances in general and referenced the Beans as the result of "a" fire, not necessarily the cause of 'the' fire. But still, you are absolutely right!@@Johnny.D
I think the most beautiful drive in Canada is from Banff to Jasper, AB. Just jaw dropping. Every turn of the road looks like a postcard.
Vintage 1998 😆😆😆. Now I feel real old. Lol
Wrap around table in this rig is nice and rarely seen. So many have "concept" design rather than physical measurements and common use. Measure once cut twice 🙂
Your videography just gets better and better. Some breathtaking scenes here. I love the mealtime intervals too - have taken away some heathy new meal ideas from Allison’s cooking. Love sharing these mini vacations with you guys!
It's not loud, it's friggin' awesome!! That motor is sweet!
Building the truck camper would be great to watch
We love our vintage truck camper- renovate one you’ll love it! (We’ll love watching you do it too)
Changing the title card for every vehicle is always a touch that doesn't go unnoticed. You guys are awesome.
@ 1840 I saw the container of Cavinder's. You are now at the top of my list of the best RUclips chefs. Yall have been one of my favorite youtubers as it is..
The vent above the bunk may not be leaking but it will condense water on the inside and drip on you. They make little pillows to stuff up in it on the inside to keep it from doing that.
That dog gave you side eye when you called him old!!
Sorry.. but can i be friend with you? I am new on here and i don't know much about RUclips.
If you replace the table with a smaller lagoon mount table, it would make the main area waaaay more usable and open.
I’d love to see you two build a camper, would be a fun project!
Again?
They just built the last rig Clementine on RUclips and have been on other rv build competitions
I'd rather see a house reno, we've seen so much RV content
Build it like Truck House Life!
Sorry.. but can i be friend with you? I am new on here and i don't know much about RUclips.
You came to my home town??!?! Never would I think you two would end up in this neck of the woods. ❤ Sea to Sky fan over here.
Well howdy neighbor! You sure do live in a beautiful area 😍
That opening waterfall shot and timing the aerial 'zooming out' shot of the camper to the music was 👌 The production quality is just continually improving 😍 You guys are basically film-makers now. I definitely notice and appreciate all the little touches you guys make to your videos and the effort that goes into them. What's funny is that I actually love your old videos too. Yet those were very different with minimal production quality. I think the old ones had their own vibe. Like very raw and natural. You guys were younger so you were in a different place in your lives and just kind of documenting your lives in this very real 'fly-on-the wall' sort of way. Almost like a video-log. Travelling with friends and just kind of kicking around seeing where the wind took you and figuring it all out as you went along, etc. As time has gone on and this has become a career for you, the videos have of course changed. The circumstances you find yourselves in has changed. It's like the channel and your videos have grown and developed with you as you both have. Because the channel is an extension of you. So it makes sense that it would evolve as you do. It's very interesting.
12:44 - I think it's for drying clothes. Well, like hung on a thread, clothes hung overnight and more or less dry. Or for towels to come out and dry off after a shower.
Eric has the moves. I'm shocked that he could dance that well. Maybe he should become a professional dancer! 🤔😆😆😆
I would honestly watch any content you guys put out.. food, camper builds, sitting on the couch watching movies... anything! ❤
Thank you! 🥰
That rig has got a drag coefficient of 100. 😊
We would love to see you guys build a truck camper. We started watching you during covid and really enjoyed your creativity.
Besides that, you could be home near Eric's mom, and that would be nice at this time. Sending good thoughts your way, The Parsons Family
Thanks you guys! We'd definitely love to find a new project closer to home, whether it's another camper or a house or something totally different 😅 We're just so bad at committing! 🙈
I think all the different variations of RVs have there pluses and minuses. In this setup you can access most off grid sites. The ones you can't you wouldn't be able to take the cab off. I guess it's personal preference depending on your travel style.
I LOVE those campers!! I see one park at a beach that's near my trailer, and i always think how wonderful to just pull up to a beach parking lot, take up 1 spot and have everything there with you for however long you wanna stay - much more convenient than a pull behind, much easier than an RV and just so darn cute!!!
Exactly - this setup was so small and convenient compared to all our other rigs. We especially loved that we could backup without any worries 🙌
Love what you guys do thank you for bringing us along
Thanks for coming along! 🙌
In my nearby neighborhood!🇨🇦
That huge granite lump behind you at the beginning is a popular climbing spot called “ The Chief”.
The back of the camper reminds me of a London Tube train! 🚇
Do a build project guys, and spend more time with family so more memories to treasure.. Thank you for sharing your experiences. You are awesome .
I grew up going camping in campers and used to ride in the back of them lol, not so legal but was fun.
Nice one guys. We would love to watch you build the camper!😎
My parents had the same cushions in their RV from the 90’s!!!
I would get some of those long matches used for lighting fireplaces to light that oven.
I love Clementine, but it's fun to see you travel around in different vehicles.
Same! It always makes us realize that Clementine is the perfect home on wheels for us, but we love trying out new rigs and fantasizing about another, stealthier build 😁
Yes a 4x4 adventure vehicle fits you perfectly.
Yes!!! Build your own!!! And before you know it, that's your business.
@ 13:55...Bombastic Side Eye !!!
Look out for The Cat Van Lady in the general area where you're heading. She is a lovely RUclipsr whom you may already know. Lovely rig Eric and Alison. 😺🍀🍀💚💚😺😺💚💚
I can totally see you guys in a truck camper - one that you build out yourself! Would be great to see
I would definitely love to watch a build video. The more detail, the more my geek, gear head brain would be happy.
🤙
Great job! We've wondered about a truck camper before. I'm glad y'all are getting a chance to try it out. Thanks for bringing us along! So much fun as always!❤🙏 Jane
Hi Eric & Allison - Just an opinion - Not the best choice to build. You have stayed and traveled in so many great places/spaces. Wouldn’t this option create just temporary feeling space to live in as you travel? Just seems you have stayed and traveled in more interesting spaces/options that seem like you are traveling in a home space that happens to be mobile? Seems like a temporary life choice for you as a couple.
I love this channel and the punniest 😅 people. They deserve more subscribers❤
🤣🙌
Another great episode guys. LOVED Allison's braids. Please wear them more 😊
What a stunning scenery so beautifully captured 🤩
I love pickup campers. Lived in one for awhile. Would love to have another one.
Welcome to British Columbia! Shannon Falls is beautiful and as is that whole area! Have fun!
You guys should check out our fully remodeled Lance truck camper tour to get some ideas, if you plan on getting or building one!
Oops! Just saw this after replying to your other comment. You guys definitely gave us lots of terrific ideas!
wow how homemade does that thing look, you guys should be in a hi spec winnebago for sure
Winnebago lost all credibility two decades ago. They are garbage no matter what spec nowadays.
You just made me homesick!! We are living in AZ but are from Vancouver !!! I even miss the rain. !!! That’s a cool sized camper but I agree I would gut it. Thanks for taking me home with you this week!!
Happy to give you a taste of home! Now if you could please send us some sun and warmth from AZ, we'd really appreciate that right about now 🥶🤣
When I was a kid my folks had a truck and camper and me and my friend would ride in the back laying in the top bed watching where we were going! Those were the days! 😊
Okay, that is an epic way for a kid to travel! We definitely remember the days of epic(ly unsafe) car road trips. 🤣 My family would remove the middle seats in our van and lay a futon mattress on the floor and the kids would all lay down there and watch vhs tapes on a tiny tv the whole drive.
That waterfall is friggin gorgeous! I knew so many people who had campers like that but I never realized how big they were inside. You'll totally have to renovate one so you can have a mini Clementine if you want to go off-roading!
We like the way you think!
I would love to watch you guys do a camper buildout for Chuck the Truck.
Welcome to British Columbia! I love seeing my province through other people's eyes! I hope you come to Vancouver Island! ❤️❤️
We are absolutely loving it up here! Sadly, we probably won't make it to Vancouver Island this trip, but it looks amazing 😍
Old boats and RVs share the same funk inside. 😁
I’d defiantly like to see a truck camper build!
The cab of that truck reminds me of the song from "Cake" "stick shifts and safety belts."
You might check out the Host Mammoth. They are not retro, but they are spacious. Basically, you get everything you would get in a much larger RV (Dry bath, king bed, full kitchen, plenty of sitting area, etc) in the bed of a truck. Plus you have the ability to drop the camper quickly and have a truck to run around in.
Pretty nice camper. See you around adventurers.
Wow!!😮 Those waterfall were so beautiful, reminded us our time in Canada and Alaska. Enjoy!
You need to attend a “Vintage Camper Rally” so you know the proper meaning of “vintage” in the hobby.😊
Love you guys but tired of building. Love your travel videos:)
Marie
The Eagle Cap 1165, Lance 1191, Okanagan 116ULT, or the Okanagan 117DBL are my favs. All have dry baths and lower beds to get into as they have a basement. Really really heavy though! Need to amp up the truck mods to make it safe.
I love it. Best layout ever !!! Forget leasing, BUY the dang thing!!!
I would absolutely watch you guys re-vibing (yes, vibe is important 🙂), a retro fiberglass camper like that on Chuck the Truck.
I know that I am behind on your videos but I would watch anything guys ever put out
Would love to watch y’all build one so I could learn how to build mine
Them truck campers were good at the time & still has their purpose even nowadays if that's what people are looking for. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
You guys always crack me up . This episode was hilarious throughout .
Wow. This brings back memories. My dad had the exact same camper and truck growing up. But his truck was green. We never used the stairs. 😂
Oh no way! That must have been tons of fun! By the end of the trip we stopped using the stairs, too 🤣
I cannot get over how big that is inside. It's huge and it doesn't look big from the outside. It's actually very nice and the scenery there is very nice! 👍🏻👍🏻❤🇺🇸🙏🏻
Right?! We never realized truck campers were so tall and spacious. We kinda wish we hadn't loved it so much 🤣
another old camper you guys deserve much better
I love Clementine and her vintage vibes but she’s had so much trouble making it work for herself… have you thought of maybe parking her at a family person’s home to use as a guest room? I think a truck and camper is a much better idea. If the truck goes belly up you can always swap out the truck and keep the camper 🤷🏻♀️? Just a thought
The only way I would want to watch you build it is if you built it on a brand new truck specced for the weight you intend to put on it. You guys need to experience reliable rvlife.
You guys are hilarious!
You gotta visit Victoria!! Way different than the mainland and you can take an hour ferry back to Washington with your truck!!!
I bet you both were glad to be off that Ferry after the horrendous trip with the storm 😜🫣 .
So happy your safe back on solid Ground 🫶🫶.
What an awesome camper yes it sure could use a lot of TLC its a nice size 😊
Hope you can Get Clementine repaired back on the Road again 🤞🤞 .
Looking forward to your next adventures in Whistler 😅 have a Good weekend take care 🥰🥰
I don't laugh very often... but the weegee board bit had me in stitches 😂
🤣 amazing!
So cool to see you in my hometown!! I hope you enjoyed your time in beautiful BC❤
Nice trade. Safe travels. Thanks for sharing
If you're going to do a truck build you should use a flatbed chassis to give more floorspace room for the layout and storage, room underneath the bed to hang large tanks for fresh/grey/black water, propane tanks, and larger/extra fuel tanks, and weatherproof storage cabinets made for for flatbeds. It would also make slideouts easier and bigger since they don't have to go overvthe bedsides, and no wheelwells protruding up to deal with in the build. You should also consider going with a dually setup to increase lateral stability when turning getting crosswinds, and rough roads. You can also change out the gearing in the rearend to get better mileage since you wouldn't be using it to pull heavy loads and trailers behind you and are only needing the support of the suspension and wider wheels setup for the camper. I would also look at doing a Crew Cab (4 door) model to give more storage and room in the cab and a larger area over the cab to build a bigger bed and storage area setup!
We're right there with you! A flatbed would definitely be the way we'd want to go if we build a camper from scratch. We love that you'd have so much more floor space and built-in storage. Definitely giving us a lot to think/dream about 😁
@@Theendlessadventurecheck out Destination Adventure, Dustin did just that, his rig was built to go deep ito where few people have gone or can easily & safely get too.
Wow a full toilet 😮. So glad it's not half a toilet that could get messy
I've owned a bunch of homes on wheels, but the best rig I ever owned, one I no longer have, was a Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 with a Lance camper on the back. I bought the Lance, outfitted it in Anchorage, and drove it all over my home state and many of the Lower 48. The darned thing slept, I think 12, but the only people in it were my three kids when they were younger and I. I would love to have it back; alas, when the insurance cost exceeded the value of the vehicle, it was time to make a smart financial move, and I gave it away. I can't afford to buy a Lance anymore, so I stay with the Toyota Prius I've lived in for three years...and love it!
I love that you guys are here in Canada. I hope you explore more of it. Thanks for the fun videos guys, keep it up. ✌️🇨🇦
I love you guys, build truck mount camper would be something to watch fo show !
Yeah ! Y'all need to build one 👍
Def want to see a truck camper build! Please do!
im glad your about your new camper, on the truck , BUT, ? i would recommended air bags on the rear , AIR LIFT AIR BAGS! why it will help with the added load when traveling and less wear and tear on the read suspension and a very nice ride ! 2 ways to pump up the air bags, 1, service station , or costco, sams, walmart etc, or a portable air compressor or standard install , i place my air bags at 40#s each side , thats 1250#s each side to help with the load due to the added weight of the camper, . the biggest problem in carry campers is overloading the springs on the truck , even if its a 4x4. hope that helps you, for the air bags to buy and install for cost , 4wd parts or ORW parts for your rig would go with the 5000#s units (2500#s each side, ) .
I had a pickup like that. Loved it.
Yay!! Welcome to BC!! Hope you guys have a good time here! Thanks for the video
8:12 OMG the face Eric made after he said “COME into my RV” has me dying laughing 😂😂😂
You both and your one liners 😂😂 love it and nice old rig . How you change your vehicles on your introduction to what you are driving love it and always enjoy your video.😊
I wonder the same about the intro! I think I remember them saying they pay a freelancer to do the updated intros but I could be wrong. But I so appreciate that added detail when they switch up vehicles! ❤
Yes build something!!!❤
You should rename your channel to “ The Endless Repair “ or “The Endless Waste Of Money “.
Might be spoiled with all that space! Safe travels y'all!
Thanks Globetrotters and welcome to my province of BC have a good time if you didn't already.nice truck .
