    That white wire being run under the grommet instead of through it will cause it to chafe and short eventually. They make a tool for poking through grommets and passing through wires.

    What’s great is that this car is documented and knowing what’s been done vs having to dig into a car and figuring out what all has been tinkered with

    Devin, why did you install the hardwire relay for the fuel pump where you did? By connecting the thicker gage wire "yellow wire" to the smaller gage factory wire, you are in essence, defeating the purpose of upgrading to a thicker gage wire. You created a choke point for the power feed wire to the pump. The trigger wire is no big deal as it is low voltage and is a signal only. But that yellow wire should have been directly connect to the pump.

      I guess he did what he did to not mess up the factory connector on top of the fuel pump assembly. I get it that its creating a choke point for the current flow but keep in mind the factory wiring is very long but in this setup the current is flowing through a very short length of wire so i guess that serves the purpose here.

      @eashan5022 not really, it being a short run doesn't mitigate a larger voltage of current going through a smaller Guage wire , if anything that's most likely the way the manufacturer says to wire it for that type of pump and possibly the problem is getting voltage to that point in a steady current and not the wire being too small , that makes the most sense

      Doesn't even need this hardwire kit relay because the factory high octane maps trigger oem relays to deliver higher voltage to actuate the pump once the required rpm is hit...

    • @liosis3280
      @liosis3280 5 месяцев назад

      @@eashan5022 Regardless of length, If you splice a smaller wire onto the larger wire, it may work initially but once conditions arise that require the higher current flow, you may find a problem, potentially a fire hazard. Creating that kind of risk near the fuel tank/fuel pump, not a risk I’d ever take.
