      I just started micro dosing and I no longer feel the need to take antidepressants. I feel unburdened and creative now. Really happy with the results

      Hey does anyone know a good source. People talk about psychedelics and the good effects of micro dosing but no one says where to get it. I really need.

    One dose of psilocybin and a paper and pen were more helpful to me than months of therapy. If you go in with a goal in mind you can learn extraordinary things about yourself and the world.

    I can't find a source anywhere for any good psychedelics in my area, I suffer some pretty bad depression and i got a chance to try K and man it was a miracle substance, I felt free,the only high or euphoria was from the relief of my vices being released, that's exactly what it did

    90% of "bad trips" (as seen on Reddit) are from mixing other substance, most notably THC. THC prevents the Default Mode Network (DMN) from deactivating, which is the magic behind Psilocybin. (This is from a 2013 study published on NIH if you care to research it further.)

    • @bmiboy4875
      @bmiboy4875 11 месяцев назад +1

      I couldn't find the study you speak of, and I don't think research has looked into the synergistic effects of combining cannabis and psychedelics. I did find a study from 2013 on cannabis' effects on the default mode network but their is no mention of psychedelics, and anecdotal reports commonly say cannabis actually heightens the psychedelic experience. I'd be keen to read the study if I've missed it.

    I heard that an acquaintance of mine got over her trauma of creepy crawlies (namely insects and lizards), by having a lizard walk on her hand by accident while she was having an LSD trip in nature. She just looked at it, and it didn't trigger her phobia whatsoever. She was in a different mental state completely and could just objectively look at the situation and study it. After that experience, she no longer had that phobia

    I've read about this and it seems promising. What folks should also take away is that these are controlled sessions in an overall CBT plan, not just randomly stuffing something in the mouth to see what happens.
    There's a need and room for lot more research to know who it can help, who should avoid it, what it does (and how) and how to make that a fruitful, healing experience ... heck, we're still working out how the brain works

    My experience was significant. But, I microdosed a few times until I could bring myself to do a trip. Accidentally I took a little more than usual and went on to a full on deep graphic trip. I wound not be able to afford the therapy assistance.
    Well, I freak myself out, not for the weak of heart but right after I got covid and became dehydrated. Ender up in hospital with low blood pressure and dizzy. I was not the MM, it was the blood pressure Med.
    Well once I got enough water in my system, and good sleep, I woke up one day with no depression. And it’s 2 weeks later. I actually feel good and it winter. Also I have stressors and I am not overwhelmed at all. I am getting a lot done, and enjoy whatever I am doing. Good focus. I have had under lining to severe times. 😊I am happy.

    It's disappointing to me that you mention adverse effects of psychedelics without putting them in context with other drugs like alcohol or opioids. How can we tell if they're more or less dangerous without that info?

    • @magnumopus1628

      I was about to write a similar comment. But more than opioids and alcohol the unreported comparison should've been with antidepressant. And they do in fact have more side effects.

    I done some magic mushrooms the other week.( the next few days I felt really good, better than I've felt in years. I'd like to try dmt, only to see if I feel less anxiety or my ptsd isn't so controlling. If there is a study group, I'd like to participate in it. as the meds i get don't help. I've been on methadone for too long, and it stops me from going away for a few weeks. Anyone who reads this comment, please write a comment to mine, I'm hanging on a thread, so any helpful comments will be appreciated

    Why are the carbon atoms black circles at 12:09 in the MDMA molecule instead of a corner like in all other skeletal models?

    How can they actually have a control group on these kind of stuff? This has an obvious effect regardless of the effect being tested, so people will most certainly know if they are just being given a placebo.
    I was wondering about how effects of something that has an obvious effect can be tested, so I'd greatly appreciate an answer.
    Thanks.

      that's a really good question and a problem that psychedelic researchers have not really cracked. The "control group" that we mentioned in the COMPASS study got a 1mg dose of psilocybin, compared to other groups who got 10mg or 25mg. That 1mg is around what might be considered a "microdose." Other psychedelic research studies have used stimulant medication, small doses of the study drug itself or just nothing at all. It is an intriguing puzzle.

    Any report on long term outcome? Like return of anxiety or depression episodes

    • @pbsvitals
      @pbsvitals  2 года назад +9

      Great question! There have been long-term followup studies on participants in earlier MDMA-assisted therapy trials, which found benefits lasted more than a year (i.e. as long as they were followed). pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31916890/#:~:text=Conclusion%3A%20These%20findings%20suggest%20that,design%20of%20the%20parent%20study.
      There was also a long-term followup for the trial of people who got psilocybin to treat cancer-related distress, which also found lasting benefits...
      pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31916890/#:~:text=Conclusion%3A%20These%20findings%20suggest%20that,design%20of%20the%20parent%20study.
      ...but that was a smaller trial. Fair to say the jury is still out. Worth noting, long-term followup studies of any psychiatric treatment, are rare.

      Don't underestimate the placebo effect. Our mind is an incredibly complex and surprising thing. I have heard a patient of one of these trials, in a podcast, well the patients AND her therapists were convinced she had had been given MDMA. Turned out she had not, she was in the control group. 😮 yet, she had an incredibly healing experience.
