I couldn't agree more I was just super lucky to have parents who aren't controlling and abusive (I'm Asian btw). But as a kid my family frequently used to go to my father's grandfather because work is closer and a school which I enroll there, everyday I go to my grandfathers house after school and do my own thing with my cousins but grandfather is massively abusive(even to my father a long time ago).Every time I do even minor wrongdoings or my cousins wrongdoings like breaking a cup, playing inside a rice field(already harvested), Breaking a plant, skipping homework etc... I had to endure the belt(especially when hit in the metal part), the slipper, that long stick after that we are forced to do dishes(and if you do the dishes wrong oh boy punishment again) then remind us to not do it again. Those days were putting a scar to my body very fearing the man I respected. As for my girl cousins and sister were pretty lucky since my sister goes in a kindergarten near my home and usually less punishment for them. My grandfather died in 2016 and I am glad and sad about him, very glad that I will not receive punishment ever again only teaching on how to be better by my grandmother and very sad because he was pretty darn good cook in the house.

Part of the joy of parenting is seeing your kid(s) happy and able to live their life by their own standards. It’s taking care of someone while still being able to question and anticipate what they’ll do the next day. Even though there’s a lot of negatives, there’s also a lot of positives, and so much to learn from. With a remote to control them the thrill is gone. You might as well adopt a pet rock instead or something, at least it’s easier to take care of.

That will actually be scary if that really happens in the near future, parents taking away children’s freedom to do what they wanna do in their lives and make them live the lives that the parents want them to live that they’ll just be miserable in… that’s terribly sad. Just glad that it’s just fiction and just a movie. Edit: what I mean is that what’s just fiction is about a remote that can control a child’s life even changing or going back in time. What’s real tho is that the parents can have deep or emotionless reasons to try to control their kids to live lives that the parents want for their kids. to be successful and push them too hard or make them live a life that the parents never got a chance to have or other reasons and never allow their child to explore their passion. Hopefully in future, parents will eventually let go of the controlling life and trust their kids and support them on their dreams.
This resonated with me the most. I was with a family like this who wanted me to be the "perfect" child and get a multi millionaire job, I can't express my emotions nor have fun, because to my parents it is a waste of time. I left my family behind and even traumatized from what happened. I am later been diagnosed with bipolar disorder due to repressed emotions as a child. As in the Phillipines, if you're a man you should be a man, I am gay I love my bf and I'm thankful he got me out of that hell. As for my parents I cut them off my life.
Luckily for me the technology doesn't exist... My life has been hell with my mother being controlling... damn... just thinking about the power she could have
I saw the entire show. I wonder, why didn’t she use the remote to rewind back before her husband cheated on her; creating a new timeline where he is faithful and everyone is together?
@@cocopuffs8646 Since no one is going to answer, I may have a theory. She don’t want to go back to way things were. Even if she can go back to when her husband is very faithful, she can never look him the same way as she used; she don’t love him anymore. My gosh! The scene where the son was begging not to rewind before he met the girl, the mother still think about her ex-husband, thinking how her son betray her trust as her ex-husband betray her.
To be clear, this is WAY easier to say than it would ever be to do but I see only one (technically....two) ways out of this. We're dealing with a control freak. It is never enough to have won for them, they must ALWAYS win. You give in once and they will never stop. Wake up. Go to the mom. Demand the remote. Should they say no (and this is the hard part) jump the railings. This is a person that is nothing short of obsessed with having control over you. If you're dead they can't have that control so it's a pretty safe bet they will hit that rewind. Rinse and repeat as needed until either you get sick of flying or they get it though their thick head that. They. Don't. Get. To. Win. *Edit* As to the real ending. Looking at that clip it seems the remote got hit before he did and there is a clear flash. So maybe smashing the remote shot him though time, possibly at random, and he hit jackpot. Or, he was the one that hit the button on it at the moment he got hit. The idea that the mother could have sent him back in time like that and not then gone on right back to trying to control every aspect of his life? Yeah. No. That's not how people that F-ed in the head work.
@@id01_01 True, but this comes with a LOT of extra problems. First being, you have a dead body in the house. How long before people notice she's gone missing? Not to mention, while it would be hard to get yourself over the railings, that's nothing to the act of killing another person, let alone your own mother (even if she is a controlling ass). You need to be a certain kind of messed in the head to be ok with that. Finally. How much you want to bet the mother doesn't have a time in the day when she's not watching him and locks her door at night, partly for the germs and mostly for the chance her son might be a "bad boy" and try to take the remote?
So not only the mother mentally and physically abused her child, se didnt care about his feelings and cut the love of his life and sent him back in time. Wow great parenting 👏

I know the kid was also a bad guy but he's still a kid and has time to change his moralities and honestly there are many kids like him who does that things. But the problem is the mother is too controlling on his kid thus making her a bad guy.
@Brian May Totally agree on your point, the kid brought this upon himself and acted in such a way that would distress his mother. The mother was kind enough to even test the kid and see if he would change his ways. Of course, the kid knew he was a lazy moron who won't do school so he faked the report cards. What the mother did was excessive yes, but she cared for her child and eventually controlled him. As someone who grew up from a conservative family, this movie isn't close to exaggeration at all. There are many Asian parents out there who are even much worse than what this movie portrayed.
I couldn't agree more I was just super lucky to have parents who aren't controlling and abusive (I'm Asian btw).
But as a kid my family frequently used to go to my father's grandfather because work is closer and a school which I enroll there, everyday I go to my grandfathers house after school and do my own thing with my cousins but grandfather is massively abusive(even to my father a long time ago).Every time I do even minor wrongdoings or my cousins wrongdoings like breaking a cup, playing inside a rice field(already harvested),
Breaking a plant, skipping homework etc...

Sometimes it is just better to let children fail and see themselves what they've done. Parents can teach life lessons and basic morals, but success is something child needs to choose, to focus on it or not.

Finally. How much you want to bet the mother doesn't have a time in the day when she's not watching him and locks her door at night, partly for the germs and mostly for the chance her son might be a "bad boy" and try to take the remote?

dude literally has the most chill voice
Movie: Parents control kids with remote
Real life:Parents control kids with belt
no thry attack with a hanger
Chappal in india
From where I live: belt, verbal insult and guilt tripping.
So not only the mother mentally and physically abused her child, se didnt care about his feelings and cut the love of his life and sent him back in time. Wow great parenting 👏
“If you ever receive a sales pitch this sketchy, RUN. Run far away.” 😂😂😂😂 I’m dying
This was such a good show. Worth watching the series.
Back home we have a similar "remote" that children fear. It's called a cane. I still hate the sound of it whipping the air.
Control instead of a holistic mindset is already the reality
I remember watching this series on Netflix. I loved it even though it was really heavy and depressing. I hope you cover more from the series. I had a few favourites from it as well.
🤣🤣🤣
See 2 hour movie ❌
See 11 mins mystery recapped ✅

I disagree that there isn't a bad guy. The mother was obviously obsessive and crossed so many lines. But before that, it doesn't matter what the mother wants, it's still his life.
I know the kid was also a bad guy but he's still a kid and has time to change his moralities and honestly there are many kids like him who does that things.
But the problem is the mother is too controlling on his kid thus making her a bad guy.
At least the kid still had morals
If my mom did that shit I wouldn’t have a mother anymore
Id have a new corpse to dig
@Brian May Totally agree on your point, the kid brought this upon himself and acted in such a way that would distress his mother. The mother was kind enough to even test the kid and see if he would change his ways. Of course, the kid knew he was a lazy moron who won't do school so he faked the report cards. What the mother did was excessive yes, but she cared for her child and eventually controlled him. The kid had chances to redeem himself yet he still hasn't done it, he was warned yet he still acted like a sneaky brat(How else did he obtain those stamps?). So yeah, both of them are dicks indeed.
@@nopenope8977 If your kid acted up, would you ruin their chances at happiness? I believe it’s the duty of parents to accept their children with all their flaws, and fine tune what their kids are good at. It’s the easiest way to secure a happy life for their kid. That’s what my mom did with me - a crazy art kid surrounded by scientists 😂 Bear in mind, I grew up in a country similar to Asian countries
@@starwolfcyberlight4546 I would agree going that far is awful. But being a kid doesn’t automatically mean that kid doesn’t deserve punishment.
