One of my favorite things about working construction was figuring how many "non-tool" items actually fit and store perfectly on a tool belt. You'd be surprised just how many different pouches and pockets a ham sammich will rest perfectly inside.

Fun fact: Bernie and Carhartt make work coats with layered pockets that hold things like tool belts. I wear mine everywhere, sometimes even with my tool belt. I can basically bring the whole work truck with me.

I woke up one day to a serious mess my Son had made. I handed him off to my Wife so she could hose him down, and because the mess was mostly on the ceiling and I didnt want to keep climbing up and down for stuff, I dumped out my tool belt and loaded it with everything to deal with the mess. Wife thought it was hilarious, but it made the task a lot faster. When my friends have kids I get them a compact shop vac and a tool belt based off my experiences being a Dad.
As a carpenter, I approve in addition to tools I do yes and granola bars in my tool bags. I want to skip lunch or keep working. I could just snack as I’m working and keep on working.

I got back surgery.. i do a tool bag and a single pouch. I won't carry 30 lbs of crap on my waist anymore.. take the extra minute to swap for the task and save 6 months of recovery. You and a good boss will agree...
Don't underestimate the value of Nag silencers it's even better when you double up the lil foam or rubber ones and the over ear just cut the strings to 3 inches so they wind up inside and not forming a line on your face by your ears
I still have and use daily what, 20 years ago was a puffy knee high (low?) Red best that has 5 huge pockets. It's PERFECT for walking my 2 Chihuahuas because I can carry napkins to pick up their poops, I can keep their sweaters in the pokeys in winter and if rain surprises us I can cover them with it and if I need to do a bit of shopping I can fit A LOT of stuff int he pokets instead of carrying a separate bag. When we get to the part I can put it in on a bench sot hey can lay there on the sun and if a dog attacks us I can wrap my arm on it and defend my babies. That last one sounds like B's but I've had to do this 2ce. So yeah we should start considering actual functional wear as just normal wear.
