As long as you have spare bricks and a Jerry rigged wire hanger grate grabber to raise/lower the grate... then you made yourself an Asado grill. It would be hard to find a better way to BBQ if you have the patience and passion.

Traeger smokers are not the optimal way to cook a burger since they cannot reach a high enough temperature to sear properly. My Traeger Texas smoker tops out around 440F. Pellet smokers are fantastic for low and slow cooking, since you don't spend 8-12 hours babysitting a wood fire and loading in wood chips every half hour for the first 4 hours. Pellet smokers are an "EASY" button for brisket and pork butt. If you want more wood smoke flavor then use a pellet tube for extra smoke the first few hours. Experiment with different wood pellet fuels, they make a huge difference in final product. I like Bear Mountain pecan or oak pellets. Knotty Wood makes great almond, prune, and wine-infused almond pellets.
Burgers on my pit boss are amazing but the gas grill is way faster. Depends on the urgency. Or if you want to spend 3 beers minimum letting the pellet grill get up to temp.
Talk about apples and oranges. In a burger contest i'm giving it to blackstone. Crispy smash burgers plus you can sautee onions, peppers mushrooms at the same time. Every man should own a pellet grill, a charcoal offset and a blackstone.

The blackstones are nice cause u can cook alot of stuff that would usually fall through the racks on other grills but that being said if u have a gas stove and cast iron cookware its basically the same as a Blackstone . And the trager seems like its basically a smoker that can get up to grilling temps
No bs currently I have a Traeger, a Blackstone, and a Oklahoma Joe propane, charcoal, and wood smoker in the front yard of my house. On the back deck, I have 2 more Traegers. We are a family that has a hot grill 6 out of 7 days per week on average.

The Blackstone is for smash burgers. You need that crust before you flip. The traeger is gonna get the pellet flavors and is better with thicker patties.
