Sound's like he's saying its unfair on Ten Hag to suggest that he threw Garnacho under the bus, not that Ten Hag was unfair on Garnacho
That's how I comprehended it. Typical Talksport editors being liberal with the truth.
Roy Keane didn't say that about Alex Ferguson on The Overlap. I'm pretty sure that Keane made those particular comments about five years ago at a Cadbury's sponsored event in Dublin for the Irish content-creators 'Off The Ball'.
Talksport + Facts = Oil + Water
Spot on.
These media people, working in the back at this station are not the brightest.
Dead right but talksport wouldn't let the truth get in the way of a good story
Garnacho has been played in 30 games in succession how is that being unfair??? Garnacho should be more appreciative that he has a manager that believes in him. Also Ten Hag didn't throw Garnacho under the bus he just said Garnacho didn't play well which he didn't so he replaced him at half time. Players need to stop finding offense over everything & man up a wee bit. Bunch of softies
Either you have been treated like dirt your whole life or just stupid not really hard to see why
@@niallireland2940 the irony of you calling someone stupid

@@user-eu8oq6pl9j Garnacho wasn't 100% fit hence why he only played the 1st half. Ten Hag isn't too blame for everything
Steve and Roy aren’t questioning Sir Alex’s record. They are questioning his communication with his players. Indirect communication is toxic and only causes unnecessary pain. Sir Alex wasn’t perfect and this is obviously one of the ways he could have improved. He did the same with all the big players when they left whether it was Beckham, Stam, Ince, Cole or Nistelrooy.
Keane made a fair point. He may be bitter. Nothing to do with success. How players were treated was the issue.
Yep Jordan who played 0 games under Fergie and had no relationship with him, tries to lecture Treble winner and ex United captain Keane on how to behave 🤣🤣🤣 Keane would make him cack himself
@@itsBATSMENnotBATTERS But Jordan is right .. get over it Roy . its been 20 years .
That clip was NOT from the overlap!! Jesus get your facts right!!
So humble, brilliant player Bruce and love his perspective on the of his United career!
You mean the man who's played him 30 times in a row? The only way he's potentially been unfair is by overplaying him
@@user-lb4by3gu3s because he's an important player and they thought he was fit enough to play. He wasn't fit enough, you could see that, so he brought him off. No manager has ever taken a player off at half time? The player also has started a media pile on, by liking a tweet and he's dealt with it behind closed doors. That's not unfair
@@user-lb4by3gu3s Wtf. How is subbing a player humiliation ? haha. What are subs for then ? Just for when players get injured ?
@@user-lb4by3gu3s He took him off as Garnacho had not trained during the week due to illness.
@@user-lb4by3gu3s There is no humiliation except for the player himself because he did not play well at all in the first half. No one laugh at him but he must have felt terrible because he knew that he could do better and he better do that because if he dreams to be a Ronaldo, he'd be a pro and double on his training and game at all times.

New to the media? Black and white conflict every time. 90% of the stuff about United is made up or spun for narrative creation.
It was Liverpool in the FA cup final 1996 Brucey 🤦♂️
Simon Jordan trying to be controversial by coming at Keane, keanes little toenails worth more in football that Jordan will ever be. Using his name to get a headline
'You cannot argue with Ferguson's record, end of discussion end of conversation thats it no more to be said' absolutely spot on.
problem with ETH digging out garnacho for his lack of defending is unfair because he never says anything about rashford who jogs around all game and rarely chases back.if he was the same for everybody then he cant be accused of unfairness
You can't possibly have listened to the press conference if you think he dug him out. Bet you think he stormed out too
@@ste4392 100% perfect comment. It's nuts how these things have been protrayed by the media...
Bailey32brooks: Your "reality" isn't based on reality, but rather on talksport video titles.
He didn't dig out anyone?? You didn't watch
Ten hag did nothing wrong. Reporter asked him why he subbed Garnacho to which he replied we were struggling down his side which we were. No big deal. Ten Hag has been great to Garnacho this season, he’s given him every opportunity that other managers would not have done so. Sad that a players first thought these days when things don’t go their way is to get on their social media.
9:04 Rubbish. Keane didnt betray any confidences , he simply pointed out information that was in the public domain. Ferguson was a football manager , his obligation was to his employers and to get the best results possible. Clearly that meant releasing senior players at some point but there are classy ways to do that and not so classy ; he was in the latter category.
Just Jordan on his soapbox trying to get a bit of clout off the back of United legend Keane. Probably because all Jordan’s known for us failing as an owner and sitting on a radio station talking nonsense. Keane won’t have a clue who he is 🤣
Man Utd played Liverpool in the '96 cup final, not Leeds!
same thing.
If ETH left Garnacho on the pitch, this debate would be why didn't ETH take Garnacho off.
They might have been tough decisions, but the contempt that Ferguson showed to long-standing servants of Man Utd is a matter of public record.
Which is what set Sir Alex apart from the rest, there is no room for compassion or pity at the highest level. It’s a ruthless game, Pep is quick to get rid of players he doesn’t like
It's not about pity or compassion.
It's called respect.
Ferguson considered Paul McGrath to be surplus to his requirements. He was suffering from alcoholism and personal demons.
He offered McGrath £80k to retire.
But he had to enter a contractual agreement declaring that he would not play professional football again.
McGrath refused the deal and went on to play some of his best football at Aston Villa and at International level with the Republic of Ireland.
Think USA 1994. Ireland vs Italy.
What Ferguson declined to inform McGrath of was the fact that Liverpool had contacted Man Utd expressing an interest in signing him. Ferguson lied, telling Anfield that McGrath was not for sale.
All the while Ferguson was attempting to have McGrath end his career.
Villa manager Ron Atkinson put an arm around McGrath. He even moved into Atkinson's home! Which reaped dividends for Villa. Jack Chalton's Ireland can be eternally grateful for this reversal of footballing fortune.
What's any of that got to do with pity and compassion?
Ending a man's footballing career just to stop your fierce rivals benefiting from such a transfer?
Ferguson was often guilty of dick behaviour.
Not every successful manager with a cabinet filled with trophies behaves in that fashion.
@@darrenlee9237 I would describe that as I previously did, ruthless, as would others. Stopping another player going to a rival? Ruthless decision.
There’s a small number of players with a bad view of Sir Alex, how many have a positive view?
How is that any different from a player attempting to two-footed tackle an opponent to end his career?
To deprive an athlete of life-enhancing years in the sport they love?
There is no difference.
There is such thing as competitiveness, determination and a refusal to surrender. All are healthy traits and very much part of a winner's mentality.
But then there is also a line that when crossed renders someone as a scumbag who engages in such psychopathic activities.
Ferguson placed a toe over that line on a number of occasions.
Many ex-players speak of Ferguson's tactical genius and ability to select the right players and manage the dressing room.
But over the years a good number of ex-Man Utd player have begun to echo Roy Keane's sentiments about the manner in which Ferguson discarded those who had displeased him or whom he felt were of no further use to him.
@@darrenlee9237 displeased and no longer useful = out the door. As I said ruthless. The man is certainly not an angel, however who is. Toughness and fear was a part of Sir Alex, he wouldn’t have been half the manager he was without it
That Keane interview was not done recently. But he was not wrong though
Very interesting enjoyed hearing Steve Bruce talk.
Liverpool fan as Iam, he was a great .

Under the bus! thats a bit strong, be resilient and prove you should be in every game. As for JS reportedly saying he is open to a United return, if ETH is no longer manager is ridiculous. I would sell him immediately.
If radios were supermarkets this is lidl and aldi all in one.
He is just dutch, blunt and direct.
You can't argue with Fergie's record, but there are ways of handling matters in a respectful way - call it tough love. "Steve you're coming to the end of your contract and your career., as you know If you want to be a squad player, I'll accommodate that of course. But I need a 26 year old Bruce for the Cup Final, as it's all about winning and you getting a winners medal to add to your collection. It goes without saying you have been one of United's best, so let's go out on a high. It's not an easy managerial decision to make, but I feel its the right one."
Meanwhile, in the real world.
The Jim Leighton one was pretty painful too

I truly believe there are managers out there who become a little jealous when a player shines too much. Pundits praising these managers as geniuses has caused them to become very egotistical. They can't stand when the success of a team isn't all about them.
Garnachois not thrown under the bus... he is only substituted, nothing more or less.
Be careful what you wish for Simon. If you thought Eddie Hearn was a tough debate then i think Roy would make you cry if he ever lowered his standards and came on talk sport 😂 its funny because its true 😅
Keane didn’t even say this on the overlap. These talksport guys can’t even get their facts straight
At this point many don't care about Ten hags decision. Garnacho has to start. What has Erik's strictness solved? Nothing
When is the end point where you judge something solved or not?
Did fergie solve things prior to 91-92?
The Roy Keane clip wasn’t from the overlap at all. Do your research
Steve come on
Roy speaks the truth, most of these pundits ,always careful what they say.Steve couldn't of been that bothered being left out v Leeds ,especially when they played Liverpool.
Talksport, skyports, etc should realise they are not a fan channel. Just come out and say you are trying to survive and not go out of business.
Jim saying ETH gets flack from various quarters? It's places like Talksport, who despise Utd
That audio clip of Keane is quite old.
What a captain ❤️✊
Steve Bruce quote I didn't like being dropped for the 96 cup final against Leeds. 😮😮
That was two years ago with Roy !!!!
Bruce defo deserves a go at the Man U job. Give him a 5 year contract.
I would have him over hag
In 5 years when Bruce contracts done. United will be playing in the premiere league while Leeds would still be fighting relegation somewhere in the depth of the bottom tier.
Garnacho is raw and has a lot to learn and understand he isn’t the finished article. He does come across as confident but I think he needs someone to ground him.
He’s only been played so much as neither Anthony or Rashford have pulled up any trees this season. The latter should be ashamed as he’s seen as a senior player …
The team is a mess. What does this team do well? The central two midfielders stop nothing. They defend like a pub team. How many shots they concede? They never stop transitions. Cannot play out from the back. Cannot keep the ball. Cannot defend a lead. Awful. All down to coaching. A mess.
Not down to coaching at all these are professional players who should be able to use there own brains during a game and change things themselfs always the mangers or coaches fault how about the players don’t actually care ever thought about that and conceding shots means nothing if you conceded 50 shots a game and 40 of them end up in a row z then it doesn’t matter shots is not a problem actually conceding goals is even when leading they don’t hold onto a lead they’ve played like this for over ten years now
Imagine thinking some coaching tweak is all it takes to sort 10 years of mismanagement.
Makes me wonder how fergie’s coaching failed during his first 5 years at United.
No the big thing is we want rashford gone , simple as that none of us would have a problem with anything he’s done if he got rid of rashford , we’re sick of seeing the waster playing shite and doing anything he wants paid a fortune and never gets in trouble , or he gets dropped played as a sub is not dropped
He dropped rashford before a fa cup game months ago and then was seen having a meeting with the board and ever since he hasn’t dropped him wonder why some things are aren’t on erik
You can’t get rid of a player when there’s no transfer window. Duh.
Rashford has been substituted and dropped plenty of times this season. It’s like people just ignore reality to suit some nonsense agenda.
@@jgmediting7770 amen to that
Give it Brucey til the end of the season

I am eth out but how eth been unfair to garnacho when he spoiled him? Its doesn't matter how bad garnacho been playing staring is guarantee and playing 90min or close to 90min is guarantee likewise Bruno, Rashford, hojlund, onana
Put history’s greatest managers in charge of United 18 months ago and they’d all need 5 years to sort things out under glazer ownership and the football structure. You’d have wanted every one of them out if 2 years is your judgment period.
As it stands now, if Chelsea win their game-in hand, they would leap frog over Man Utd in the table.
@not2busy
The problem for Chelsea is they have a much more difficult run-in. After City in the FA Cup, they play Arsenal, Villa, Tottenham, and West Ham in a row in the league. That’s about as difficult of a fixture list as you can get.
Chelsea will finish below man united . Fact
Oh no, how would United possibly survive.
Well ya know
Ten Hag needs to keep the youngsters onside and offload the older freeloaders.
Not the overlap! Thos was years ago at "on the ball" a irish talking circuit thing.. as if keane would be talking his wife when she's passed. How can they get it so wrong??
Exactly, they’ve just picked out something Roy said years ago
There really is an agenda, how does the title not represent the conversation? Poor.
Roy isn’t wrong
A word called respect for others simon something you know nothing about and Roy does ,if a player disrespects a manager and a club hes made to feel bad and apologise but manager can disrespect a player whos given everything is allowed .talking rubbish simon

Garnacho is a good player in the making
He behaves like he is Cantona. He is selfish and made lots of mistakes in that game. He has potential but not there yet.

Rashford was also bad if not worst and should be withdrawn as well.

Unfair? He's a teenager starting every match and hasn't been brilliant but had some brilliant moments and couple matches. He was poor and brought off. Not sure what he's kicking on about but to be fair we aren't sure Garnacho himself runs his social media or how internal discussions went. Always looking for a way to destroy current United. Imagine Bruce taking that stance with Sir Alex / Keane scenario who was binned next day.
Garnacho plays football like his age..
Watch Yamal, and you'd think he's a veteran
As a 41 year old Utd supporter Garnacho ain’t it for me, i just don’t think he fits the ethos of what being a man utd player is all about, The kid is corny as hell and appears to have an identity crisis wanting to be a bad parody of Christiano rather than being his own man and there’s no real senior leaders in that team to guide him in the way Ronaldo had Keane, Giggs, scholes, Neville etc.
Al revés, Garnacho fue injusto con Ten Hag.
The only plan Ineos should have on the books right now is finding a new coach. Ten Hag has been one of the worst coach in United history. Beaten 7-0 against Liverpool and 4-0 at Brentford is the epitome of his reign.
