I know I promised I was done with my horror games arc but I was getting clowned on in the comments of my multiplayer horror games video for making it too early so I had to do a follow-up real quick. Zeekers, the developer of Lethal Company also made It Steals which is my favorite horror game ever so obviously I played this too.

Agreed with everything but the turrets. They're easy as hell to bait or evade, and can be outright TURNED OFF at the terminal

I Consider turrets a part of the environment. And I believe the environment shouldn't be the primary source of kills.(1 environment:2 monsters ratio) So there is a balance that can feel off at times. (A part of generated levels)
The biggest problem with turrets (especially moons with more) is when they block a hallway. Which event is one of the few things in the entire game without counter play and just stops runs.
@@jeremylakey680 If they block a hallway, you can disable them with the terminal. Plus if half your deaths come from the turrets then you might wanna reconsider how you deal with them
@@localsnek I mean they block a hall way with their hit box (not with bullets) so you physically can't walk around them.
I'm honestly shocked that you didn't mention the other game by zeekers "It Steals" since you liked it so much, it wasn't even on the tier list! I'm surprised.

Definitely. Like, turrets really aren't that difficult to deal with, and are terrifying in the most perfect way.
Can this same argument not be made for pretty much every game?
@@maxwellsterling some games have universally agreed upon flaws, for example if you cant go more than 5 minutes without a gamebreaking bug, thats an obvious major issue
Best part about the jester/music box is you can't hide from it, it literally always knows your location and will get progressively faster when it comes out of its box until either every one leaves the facility causing it to go back into its box or it kills someone which also causes it to go back into its box.
I'm pretty sure that if the Jester kills someone, it only resets their speed and gives the other players a few more seconds to escape.
7:15 while that is true, it's worth noting that the game is still in early access, this still could change and for a game in early Access, it's really good.

I feel Zeekers will add more map style as time goes on, he is one person after all, doesn't want half baked maps in the game that then needs to be made procedurally generated

no, no, i think that goes to phasmophobia.
my main issue with lethal company is also my main issue with phasmophobia. Guy in the chair is such a counterintuitive playstyle for a horror game. I know some people find it fun but the problem is that it's not really scary. Lethal company does solve the biggest issue where the guy in the chair is somewhat vulnerable, and it is scary as fuck when the person guiding you through the spooky corridors suddenly screams and cuts out, leaving you alone, or when you hear "I can see multiple red dots around you. Run". But the main danger to the guy in the chair is eyeless dogs and they become almost trivial once you know how to deal with them, it's also not very scary to die to them. I think in lethal company it's a missed opportunity not to make the guy in the chair role something like fnaf where you have to juggle between helping your teammates and frantically changing ship controls to avoid danger.
That said I think one of the best parts of the game is that it never really stops getting scary. Even once you know all the monsters and how to deal with them, it's still scary knowing what's coming and in some cases knowing exactly what's about to happen. Instead of the fear of the unknown it's the dread of what's coming. It's easy to hear some quick footsteps and ignore it, not knowing what it is, but it's different hearing them and knowing that there's a coilhead somewhere.
Dogs are *not* easy to deal with, and they pretty much give the guy in the chair the amount of time that it takes the door to open to help you. I know from experience.
The nutcracker: don't move a muscle, pray you won't be in his way.
Love this guy, seeing this guy on my recommended is always a happy surprise, keep up the work man

What is crazy is that this game is still in early access. It is a complete game already!
The best way they could make it better is random mod picker for the monsters. You can never predict what is gonna chase you and you have to wonder is a certain monster in the game
the scariest thing in any video game is thinking your friend has your back but when you look back a shadow demon has taken him and you don't know when it killed him or where said shadow demon took your friend and knowing that you're next, the only friend you have now is the sense of impending doom. THAT is terrifying
Nah turrets are amazing. Its the funniest shit to see your boy go down a long hallway, then hear "oh god" **12 seconds of machene gun fire** "im good"

You actually brought up a really good point that I hadn’t thought about and I do think some app variety would be nice and maybe even loot variety but I don’t know we’ll have to see what zekkers does

Because your editing style is honestly pretty much my favorite editing that I have seen on RUclips and I’d love to see what tricks you use and how you decide what you do next (like when you show your bird avatar or not or when you decide to add sound effects and such)

The best thing about this is that it isn’t done being worked on and the issues you pointed out can be fixed. I sincerely hope the dev doesn’t stop before it becomes truly the best multiplayer horror game

A vr mod recently was made, and it's one of the easiest vr mods to learn the controls to and use.

Something that you might wanna know is that there is a mod for lethal company vr! its on thunderstore which is literally how everybody mods their game, and if you can figure that out I can promise you a pants pissing good time

yo I caught a video in the first 30 seconds. You just made the next 10 minutes of my workday not miserable.
And now i'm back to staring at the wall ):
I gotta disagree on the criticisms of the procedural generation and turrets here. The former, when combined with the vent system that allows for all the monsters on the map to move around, makes it so that DESPITE there only being a few maps your experience will be different every time. Scripted, moon-based encounters would be a huge mistake in my opinion. It’d make for a good surprise once, but then you know what to expect and some moons will end up just being more efficient than others.
Similarly, with the turrets, they play an often understated role in restricting the options of the player when encountering dangerous threats. They can be fairly easily avoided if you’re paying attention and not rushing, but nothing is more nerve-wracking than getting chased by a monster and struggling to remember which hallways are safe and which hallways will get you lit up. Even with an escape plan, it puts you on the spot.
Almost all of the cons you mentioned in this video are attributed to the game being in early access and needing a lot of new content. Also i just wanna mention, there is a monster that is litteraly schizophrenia. It picks one player and haunts them with sounds and the appearance of a little ghost girl, that no one else can see

Lethal company is so good for how cheap it is, also there is so so much to be added in the game. I understand it gets boring after awhile but for 10 dollars you can easily get 20 hours or more of gameplay before feeling bored because you’ve done everything. THEN it’s fun because you get to mess with your friends and troll people who haven’t played before

i thing about the thing you said at 7:12 and that is that the game was released for early access a week or two before you uploaded the video so thats why it has 2 interiors and not a lot of creatures, and items just give it 4 months/6 months until the game is released then if there was a lack of content your point is valid
I feel like it's a disservice to this game to only describe it as a multiplayer horror game. This game is half comedy party game.

to be fair, it is a solo dev, at school, doing his best, taking that into account, i think he did a pretty good job, and he recently update the game adding "challenge moons, a set seed that changes every week."
