My father grew up in Pacentro in the mid 20's before repatriating to the US in 1934 to live with his father. For health reasons my Grandmother moved back to Pacentro with my father and his 6 siblings. They were very poor. My Grandfather stayed in the US to work and send money back to Italy. My father shared stories of gathering snails off the mountainside, for dinner, after a rain - a delicacy today. At some point in the year they would all run down the mountainside. Some festival maybe, I can't remember. Unfortunately, he lost the rights to his home there, back in the early 80's. He didn't share the details but I remember our paisans telling him to let the issue go. My son will be visiting the town in 3 weeks. Thank you for the tour.
To put in your words, Stunning! Absolutely, beautiful home! You have such a calming, almost trance-inducing voice that makes me want to buy just about every home you show!
Indeed. The problem only is that there is usually a reason for cheaper homes in nice regions. Like in other parts of Europe, small town and villages are emptying out, young people are moving to the cities, old folks are left behind, infrastructure is fading away (schools, doctors, stores, restaurants...). Hurts to see that. Unfortunately secondary homes are not the solution. Here at least you have some tourism.
Perhaps homeoffce / remote work opportunities might change it, but there is still not much infrastructure in many places. You have to catch it before it goes downhill too much.
I love the iron work wall leading into the kitchen. If this was mine, it would stay! ❤
Oh, thank you so much for that look see inside that lovely church. It is just beautiful! And what a lovely, picturesque town!
I love that you show the sights before the house tours!
When a Realtor is involved you hear the 6% commission in his voice such a delight omg. Spend a lot of money is easy better buy something done or do nothing at all.
@@leonardoluc6362 you have no idea what you are talking about. I am not a realtor and do not take 6%. Clearly someone has upset you and I am sorry for you, maybe it would be best if you just think about your own life.......
Absolutely agree with David ! Such remark does make sense at all !
@@AhomeinItaly I really like it when there's not too many people there - when were you there ?
I love all the workers and people and cars, etc cuz it shows the town is alive.
Stunning. Just stunning and HUGE. I would be changing where the kitchen is. Not sure where but into one of the larger areas. But alas, I can only dream about the fun someone else is gonna habe there. Great find and outstanding value for the money.
I can't believe the size of those rooms! And I would really leave the black grill - it is in a medieval style and adds a lot of character.. The village is just charming.
A beautiful place, and you did a great job of showing some of what makes Pacentro magical.
I love the kitchen fireplace!
I can't get over the fact that the properties you show in the most beautiful villages I just love them! It makes me sooooo want to be there. Thank you for sharing the church! It's so beautiful ❤️
Absolutely gorgeous Dave .. thank you again for showing us a gem !! It’s huge, for sure .. and what a sweet little town ❤
Spectacular. Town, scenery, location, apartment, all. I'd have enough room to B&B and turn the 3rd bedroom into a self-contained to indulge my quota of solitude too. Wow.
What a beautiful property and a fantastic price. Definitely needs a master bathroom, but views are stunning. Cheers🍷
Some beautiful furniture in this one. Just recently found your channel. Both my parents were from Abruzzo. Love your channel
Stunning, indeed! The apartment appears to be well maintained and that's a lot of square footage for the price. Beautiful location, too. Enjoyed the tour.....thanks!
Heaven . Im about a year or so out from pulling the trigger on my dream property & these videos really keep me focused on my goals ❤
I'm in love with this home and town.
Excellent presentation, stunning apartment.
Wow, this apartment was not what we were expecting and what an incredible find! A wonderful location too!
What can ya say about this ….STUNNING!!! 👏😄
No intentions of. Buying a home in Italy but I’m nosy and love the sound of your voice!!
Coming back home today after work , to eat some food and feel relaxed watching a nice home in italy video. Nice to see Domenico smile too :) Have a good day and thanks for the videos!
So much history and character.
Superb property in lovely Pacentro!
Dave, lovely video. Pacentro is a gorgeous little town. I've "google street viewed" it to death 😁.
The people working when you are doing your video is perfecto!
I am not a troll promice. But really, everything is stunning it devalues the meaning of "stunning ". So, if everything is stunning, nothing is. You have shown many good properties, many with great potential. Only occasionally i have seen something stunning. And yes, in those cases i have agreed, they were stunning. Thank you
I want it Dave!!
In Malta we call this property an elevated maisonette because it has it's own private entrace not shared like in the case of an apartment. Great video.
Simply stunning!!!🤓❤️🪻
Very nice !!!!!
great looking Town!
My maternal grandparents emigrated from Pacentro. The many times I've been to Italy have never been there, but would love to visit.
Like Madonna's father !! Ciccone Family comes from Pacentre
j'adore, really stunning place, video and comments :)
All of them are so great. This property is no different
Beautiful. Thank you for all the videos and information about the towns visited. xoxoxox
STUNNING!!
Just found your channel. Can't wait to see more videos and learn more about the buying process. Thank you!
Fantastic place 👍
That little room with a arch wooden door would be a perfect decorated room for my 5 cats, but of course , the door would be always open for them to explore the house.
Oh my l would love to purchase this spot. Incredible!!❤❤
Beautiful .
Beautiful, meraviglioso ❤😊
So spacious! Almost too much space although I think I would keep it exactly how it is. Perfecto!
Beautiful! I would move in as is.
Absolutely fantastic property! It is curious why all the rooms are so utterly expansive yet the kitchen, which is arguably the heart of the home, is minuscule by comparison. I struggle with the typical sliver-sized bedrooms and bathrooms in many properties but the size of these bedrooms is gratuitous. Would love to have spared some of the space for a larger kitchen. I’d hate to sacrifice that lovely entry but what are some other options?
It's also the angle of filming (the lens). But kitchens in older (sometimes also newer) European houses aren't necessarily large. This has correlation on what's coming out of the kitchen though. I saw many huge open concept kitchens with the most expensive appliances in the US - yet not used a lot...
@@Eunegin23 the kitchen isnt really small, its smaller than the other rooms but larger than most old kitchen. move the dining table into the central room, what is the purpose of the central room? is it just a ridiculous entryway? you move the dining table and you have a quite large kitchen.
@@scottmcshannon6821 you would be surprised that there are some Europeans who are not into large kitchens or open concept. But I agree that that would be a smarter floorplan yet changing plumbing in an old building can be tricky.
Nice place and little City, quiet as most of the young people and everybody with decent job are gone like all towns in the middel of nowhere in Italy. Also when realtor little bit to change here and there omg you pay he/she is gone. Collected the 6 % commission and goes on to sell / praise the next house up.
Dream! I don't see many tourists though. Was it filmed during the heatwave?
Love it!
Amazing place….. what about cafeterias, shopping area, bus station, hospital, etc. if I have a car where can I park. What is the state of this city or town?. You are such a nice presenter, sorry of my definition…. I like you guy, you’re amazing. Thank you Dave, Best regards…
I would buy this house if I wanted to move to Italy. Wonderful
Thank you Dave
As you say, stunning!!!!! Few changes only. The only negative? The restaurant below....
In an apartment like this, are the floors between the apartments just as thick as the walls? I am just curious about the potential noise from neighbors above or below. Thank you and I am addicted to your videos! So well done and great info!
I would make the kitchen (with the fp) into the master, with the current bthrm as the en suite and the flat ceiling room into the kitchen because the views are better. Yes, the existing utility room should split into a new utility, in the back (accessed from the kitchen) and a family bathroom, in the front. I suspect the flat ceiling room also has beams (probably unpainted) under the plaster. Love the size of this one.
Go ahead big plans if you have the budget.
$142,000US a lot of space for money, beautiful city
Good price rest location good pick.
Awesome! Thank you for the town tour too. What's the asking price for this property??
I absolutely love this apartment yes I would definitely put in a couple more bathrooms maybe even make it a sweet or 2 is there a Is car
park
You did pick a good one this time
Absolutely stunning! I would like to buy this place ! 🎉.
I just spent a few days in Pacentro these past few nights. I absolutely loved the place and saw many places for sale. How can I reach out to you for more information on the process to buy a place there and to see more homes in Pacentro. Thank you
I LOVE IT, much better showing around town outside.
Meanwhile, which big city closest to this town.
I sent you an email also! What is the material of the floor in the kitchen and the lounge?
Keep the stone and give me insulation.
What is the hallway off of the third bedroom ? Does it lead anywhere ?
I know! I wanted to see that area. There probably isn't much to it but I am so curious.
Beautiful, how long has it been on the market? Is it still available?
Can you turn up the volume on your recording device? It's difficult to hear your audio. Thanks. Enjoyed your tour.
It would not be the same without the furniture as they complement each other so much.
Very nice property Dave, would love to own something like this in the future.
Please ignore my ignorance, but could you please give your best estimate, preferably on the higher side, of how much it would cost to bring this apartment up to a higher standard? Maybe taking into account your suggestions during the tour.
Thanks and regards
AJ.
Beautiful but a bit pricey for me ❤
Hi David. Great place. Just wondering about the floor above and the insulation from noise. I see that above the utility room there some to be just planks...
Nice tour and good presentation. Is this home still available on the market?
Where do you go to look for the recent listing everything I see is months old which I'm sure must be gone by now.
As camas são fantásticas
COME ON GUY, YOU HURTING ME. TREMENDO.
Lovely! But I don’t think I could do steps
Question. What was behind the door to the left when you first entered from the street, before heading upstairs?
What time are your live streams? We are Eastern time in the us.
Do most of the cities have bakeries?
nice place that requires lots $$$$ to bring it to reality
No house will ever be done to your exact specifications unless you do the renovations yourself, even if it's move in ready. Buy a house that needs work and make it your style instead of buying a house done in someone else's style.
Nice place that doesn't need any changes for me, it is great as it is!
@@hannaR_ did u pull the Triger then?
I see these and they are quite lovely but I have a question? does anyone drive and if so, where does everyone keep their cars??
Right Dave, nice video but I'm not sold on the price. The kitchen is going to need a remodeling. The balcony might be just large enough to sit outside with a glass of wine and a cigar (single person that is). The biggest concern is the height of the ceilings in the bedrooms. I have a 4 post bed that wouldn't make it. Still, the lower rooms might be the office and the others for the beds? Nice but I think I would pass on this one.
Lots more to come! This one has sold now anyway.
I hate it. To see the chairs staged facing the headboards. I can visually see them watching their loved ones taking their last breath. !!!. Is this why we see this in so many apartments.?
Too bad it doesn’t have better views from those balconies. I’m new to Italian properties, so this would take some adjustment! 🙃
Does it come furnished
I live in Italy. As a straniero you need to be careful! A lot of these towns may look charming but are in the middle of nowhere. The adriatic coast of Abruzzo is attractive, but I wouldn’t live in the interior of Abruzzo on a bet.
Pacentro the town of Madonna's grandfather-mother
And Mike Pompeo!
have you sold it?
Is it sold??
Na sala com janela do terceiro quarto eu faria o quarto e onde está a cama faria uma sala
Can foreigner tourists with no residency purchase properties in italy?
Yes, if you come from a country that has a reciprocal agreement with Italy 😊
@@AhomeinItaly yeah?
And the price ???
It's literally in the thumbnail. lol
O primeiro quarto da para fazer wc dentro
What about earthquakes?
All of Italy is seismic other than Sardegna. You can clearly see that towns like this are hundreds maybe thousands of years old and still standing.
We are talking about rare and isolated events (thankfully).
Worth all of €200.00
TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY TO EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING IT.
It's literally in the thumbnail. lol
Place looks great but there is nothing in the town? seems abandoned town like the old west
Not true at all! Pacentro is a fantastic place. If you're thinking of Rome then it is not Rome, it's a village!!
Creepy place to live
This place rakes old and death 😢
