    Hi, hope you enjoyed your trip. You should also visit the East coast, Anstruther, Pitenweem, Crail etc etc they are stunning wee fishing villages 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      They were brilliant. We watched fir an age and only got suspicious when they just didn't move. Do visit the east coast of the Kintyre is beautiful, especially Caradale beach.😊🐕🚙

    Lovely relaxing episode. Shame you couldn’t get to Gigha Island but we enjoyed the drive down the Kintyre Peninsula. You had us fooled with those stone people 😅 Look forward to the next episode ❤

    Brilliant. I was based at RAF Machrihanish for 3 years and often went to the places you visited. Got drunk often at the Keil hotel and went down to the light house and struggled back up again. Got a hot feeling in my feet when standing on St Columbas footprints. Great area all down the Mull of Kintyre. Happy days. Thanks.

      Pleased we brought back some memories for you. We chickened out of the walk down to the Lighthouse back on our first visit 2018, it was way too hot!! 😊🐕🚙

      Nope, us neither. Although Bernie got a new knee in 2022, but had a heart attack last August. So think the climb back up wouldn't be a good idea 🤔🐕🚙

    I once drove down the East coast of Kintyre past Saddell Abbey in high Summer during a huge thunderstorm deluge. The storm passed and after a few minutes I was forced to stop as the road steamed such that I could not see past the car bonnet. Either side of the road was in clear bright sunshine!

      There's no doubt that road on the east side of Kintyre is a little bit more tricky, with all the bends, climbs etc, but so beautiful. We loved the beach at Carradale. As for the weather, all seasons one day and isolated downpours, we had them all too. 🙄🐕🚙

      @theRhinsRanger hi. Very clever isn't it. Yes, we toured all the Dumfries and Galloway peninsula in our old auto sleeper. Long before we started to record our adventures. Loved it. With certain atmospheric sea conditions, we can see the Isle of Whithorn from our garden in Cumbria. Funny, was just thinking to myself this morning, that we need to revisit. Loved Port Patrick 🤔🚙🐕

    Being Scottish,and having Mcneil ancestors buried on Gigha,along WIth McSporrans,its is pronounced
    GEE_HA with a hard g as in Goat,or Grass.Barra,a small island near Gigha ,also has McNeils,but one island Catholic,Gigha protestant.hope this helps.Gigha is also knows as God's Island,and I've been,and it really is spectacularly wild and beautiful. Hope you enjoy and hope my wee nuggets of info help.

      We've had a great time and love Kintyre. As for the stones, not exactly sure as they were still visible when the tide came in around them 🤔🐕🚙

      Yes, with our experience of the ferocious SW winds off the Irish Sea here at home. They even shifted a cemented on chimney coving stone!🤔🐕🚙

    Who was the genius who decided that it was a good idea to lay a road right through the natural countryside ? To think back in the day if you wanted to visit places it was either by boat or you walked the journey . Much , much less of a damaging ' footprint ' left behind too . A simpler time ! A better time ! Don't you think ?

    As a Scot, i think the best bet for good weather is not, June. The end of July, start of August, is a better bet. June, it often constantly rains. Just a wee bit of advice, if you're planning a trip.

      Hi. Thanks. It's always good to get advice from locals. Unfortunately, we had family commitments later in the year. So had to get back for them and to be honest, we started our trip at the beginning of May in Shetland and Orkney. Aiming to try to miss the height of the midge season once back on the mainland... They love me (Tina)😊🐕🚙

      Except for last year 2023 it was like winter all summer but especially coldest during spring summer times due to Antarctica June I remember being one of the worst coldest season last year

      Aa we left Scotland on 2nd June sounds like it turned back into the type of weather we experienced on Shetland. It was certainly very kind to us towards the end of May.🤔🐕🚙

      Hi, we do a bit of both. Staying on a site every few days to get rid of waste, rubbish and have a proper shower. We do try to never park where there are any other vans. Sometimes we have no choice, but we prefer to find isolated spots. It would be a shame if it stopped all together. This year though, we found several spots that had been gravelled over with just a sensible sign not to have fires. 🤔🐕🚙

      @@the-other-windsors we done the NCAA’s 500 last year stayed on sites every night . Been told that some areas now have wardens to move wild camper’s on. Enjoy your travels and stay safe

      Totally understand but, for many reasons, some of our audience can not physically get to these places and watching our videos helps them to enjoy wild, beautiful areas too.🙂🐕🚙
