I am watching this with a big glass of Yellow Tail Jammy Red Roo in my hand. Thanks for the info on the Banff park up. It's now added to my list. I wouldn't think of emptying the van toilet into a public toilet, it's easy to find a site, CL or Aire every so often. BUT emptying there is definitely better than emptying at the side of the road as some do - the 'some' that give the rest a bad name.

Hi to you both, CL sites all the way, we always use these sites now, some even have showers now too so what not to love about these hidden gems, many are quiet we love that and only having 5 spaces you tend not to get a bigger pitch as well and love the fact we also use our loo for no 1s 😂 it’s surprising how quick you get used to using other facilities so to say 😂 x Happy Campervaning !! I downloaded your video on the Thule rain blockers setup so I could watch it back on a very wet recent camping trip. I bought them on eBay and was using them for the first time. I must’ve seen it a hundred times and you now appear often in my suggestions. The editing quality and content of your videos in the 4 years since then is incredible. Another great history lesson and lesson for those who don't adhere to campervan etiquette. Unfortunately there is a new breed of van owners who don't have any idea how to respect their surroundings or the locals. It gives other owners a bad name and a bad reputation. What a good pizza idea. Will have to try that.
@@janeconnors1807 Thankfully they are pretty few and far between but it just takes one to tarnish the reputation of the many. Yes definitely give that pizza a try, use a good sun dried tomato pesto as it packs more flavour and lightly crisp the bases under the grill first👍💕🐾
The pizza looks great. The views from the monument was great. Is it expected when using a free park up in Scotland to to park close to the over camper vans. In USA we normally park as far a part as we can for overnight. Enless there are RV only spots that have you park close together. Just wander how things are different.
@@ohioclassCcamper It was a small park up area so we tend to park quite close so that if other vans come along they will be able to park up too. If it's a larger area then we will park far away 👍💕🐾

If you’d continued along past the houses before you parked up there is another spot at the end of road about a third of a mile along, though without toilet access.

Hi, I'm just wondering if you can help me, I bought the same van as yours, New in July, from Brownhills, Newall. We've been having loads of problems with it, from the roof lining falling down, lights falling off, and heating making a noise. I went out in it the other day just to find out now. I have no heating coming out of the drivers side footwell. Please can you let me know if yours is the same. Thanks loads Nigel
@@ispearo Hi Nigel, we have not had anything like that, just a few minor things. Sounds like you need to be getting back to Brownhills pronto as these are major faults that need to be rectified ASAP
Thanks, loads for the reply. Just one thing because I've been told it's the same for all Automatic Fiat vans, that there is no heating that comes out of the Drivers side footwell. It's the way it's built. It blows out strong on the passenger side. Can you please let me know if yours blows out so that you can feel it on your hand. I have nothing at all. I dont know anyone else with the same van as ours. I am sorry to ask you, I promise I won't bother you again. Thanks Nigel
@ispearo sure no bother, we are heading out on Wednesday, actually going to Brownhills for habitation check and snags, I can check the heating in the drivers footwell. It has been very cold so I will not be pleased if as you say it is only on the passenger side.

@@ispearo today we drove to Brownhills, it has been a cold day and heating on in the cab all the way. Overall the heating system is not very good, not at all like being in a car. I drove all the way and several times used the heating directed down into the footwell areas. All I could feel was cold air blowing down at my feet. Tricia said she was getting some warmth on her side but not great deal. When we stopped I put my hand down and could only feel very slight warmth coming from the central console, like it was coming through from the passenger side. So, I would have to agree with you, it must be a Ducato thing. My feet finally warmed up but it took a while.

Great to see Banff again. I lived and worked there for a couple of years back in 1980. I was a printer with the local newspaper before it moved to Elgin. The Banffshire Journal building is now the famous Spotty Bag shop. Although it's only an hours drive from home, we haven't been there for ages. That nice wee parkup will do for me and hopefully an aurora to photograph as well.
@@mstphoto99 Always great if you get an aurora. We parked outside the Spotty Bag shop when I went off for a walk up to the Venus monument. Didn't know it was the old Banffshire Journal building.

I just put my greyfriars Bobby in the doggy bin when I go out camping. A doggy poo is just the same as a human poo, though lightly smaller.
