    I’m 63 and noticed recently the worst hair breakage and thinning. I attributed it to age and thyroid or whatever. I was looking for some kind of oil and an ad mentioned hard water and the damage from that. I bought a water softener just for my shower and bought Kérastase miracle 8 hour night treatment. I noticed a difference immediately. I’ve never had great hair but it does matter a bit. I always enjoy your videos and appreciate your integrity 💖

      I'm on thyroid meds and have been for years. I'm 61 and for the last 6 months have been using Kerastase Genesis line of shampoo, conditioner and the serum I use 2 or 3 times a week on the scalp. The result is unbelievable! I have quite long hair and the lack of breakage and hair falling out since consistently using it has honestly amazed me.

    I'm going through menopause and I'm in my fifties. The one thing that helped STOP my hairloss was Collagen peptides. I take the Vital Proteins and 1 scoop in my coffee. AND tbh, I went from Keto to Carnivore because I really want the health benefits of looking and feeling younger and to put a full stop on menopausal symptoms. So now my skin is amazing (I've been told I look 10 years younger), my hair loss is back to normal amounts of hair loss, no more hot flashes, no mood swings, losing weight (almost at college weight), and I'm sleeping soooo good. If you can't handle a restrictive way of eating at least do the collagen peptides. You can watch videos on Collagen Peptides here and just read the comment section on those videos too. It works but you have to keep taking it every day.

      Vital Proteins was GREAT BEFORE they changed the ingredients & REMOVED the hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C. Now it doesn't seem to do anything. BUT I do want to check into Carnivore... sounds CRAZY to me but I keep hearing GREAT testimonials!

    I've had a lot of hair shedding twice in my recent mature years. Both times it followed times of extreme stress (my health and death of my husband. I shed so much, I had to wear a net when I cooked. I have recently purchased the Zuvi dryer also use the I-restore Pro helmet every day for red light therapy on my scalp. Now my hair is growing in slowly with 1-2 hairs lost in my shower. My hair is long like Risa
    so I oil the lengths on the night before shampooing. When shampooing, I let the shampoo run down the lengths and squeeze it through, then rince. Just wanted you all to know that shedding my not necesssarily be related to age or menopause. Stress in your life can play a major roll too, but you can recover.

I have really fine hair and I started doing some tips that I learned from Abbey Yung on YT and I have to say that my hair has never been longer in my life and the ends have never been less straggly. I think one of the biggest game changers for me has been applying the OGC coconut oil before shampooing. You should try it, it’s easy and affordable and accessible (Target!). I did notice your hair looks fuller and new growth! I'm happy you made this video, and I will try your other suggestions as I already began myself for hair-loss. I had to laugh bc when I blow dry my hair I feel same as you said! Lol. I live in Arizona, and I quit using my hair dryer because I wanted to stop the damage to my hair. I wash it the night before and air dry. It can be a little oily, next day, but I use a smidgen of dry shampoo at my widows- peak 😊😊I also quit coloring. I had all you're describing and went through the same experience as you, and I had extensions for 5 years. It has been 2 years hair extension free and my hair is growing slowly and I'm trying to keep it going, so thank you, so much for these tips and knowing I have to work at it. Not just wash, rinse, or condition. Please keep growing out your widows-peak! I, too, have one, and it's rare bc most people don't have one, and my mother told me when I was a little girl, it's beautiful, and I am now I'm telling you ❤

    Hi Risa. Great tips. I would also like to recommend that anyone noticing thinning that isn't improving to please see a dermatologist. Preferably one that specializes in hair loss. Some hair loss as we age is normal but we don't have to accept it. And some hair loss can be permanent so it's important to address it as soon as possible. You can start with topical minoxidil (5% foam is what I've seen recommended most). I'm on oral minoxidil and finasteride and my hair has grown like crazy.

    Great video and tips. I have been going through drying, shedding of my hair for several years, and last year my nails started breaking. I'd barely have an 1/8 of an inch nail growth and bump my nail and it would break. I found out through switching my primary doctor and having an annual blood work test thar I had a vitamin D deficiency. My doctor recommended I take a vitamin D with calcium one per day, which I did. A year later I had another blood work test and was still deficit in Vitamin D doctor advised to take 2 per day. Once I started and was taking it for 4 to 6 weeks my nails stopped breaking, bur my hair was still shedding. I picked up another bottle of vitamin D these where the soft gel tablets without the added calcium and have been taking 2 per day along with the 2 per day vitamin D with calcium for several weeks and the last time I washed my hair and daily brushing I have noticed less shedding. I would suggest speaking with your doctor and having your vitamin D levels checked.

    Yes, I too, have always heard that coloring hair, can contribute to hair loss and texture change. I just turned 48 years and I have never colored my hair. I feel very blessed that I don't have any gray hair. I am waiting to color my hair, when I do get gray hair. I don't use any hair tools except a brush on my hair, and I try not to fuss too much with it, so I don't keep shedding. I have long hair past my behind and only cut off about 5 inches, every New Years holiday. Your hair does look so pretty, so I am going to try some of your tips, too, like the Rosemary oil. Thank you so much for these 😊😊😊😊❤!!!

      @mercedehizadi4695 The minerals in hard water dry out hair and skin. Adding a water filter removes those minerals. It's basically the difference between drinking tap water and bottled water. Using a filter has made the biggest difference in my hair and skin.

    I’ve also heard that doing a gentle scalp massage each day (at least 3x/week), for just a couple mins., will improve the health of your scalp via increased blood flow and the hair follicles that are still alive will improve. I don’t think there is any way to bring dead follicles back to life but struggling, unhealthy ones can be improved and can go back to their previous strand thickness. I also agree w/ those who say collagen powder helps your hair, skin and nails. And if you can afford it, those red light hair helmets work too.

    I experienced major hair loss/shedding during menopause. My hair was dull, dry and broke easily. I tried many high end shampoos and conditioners and even started embracing my naturally wavy hair. One huge problem was the hardness of my water. After installing a shower filter and using a hard water shampoo and conditioner, things started getting better. I enjoyed the Pacifica Rosemary Purify line and still use it. In February 2022 I started using JVN hair products. I love the Undamage and Nurture. I always use the complete conditioning mist and air dry cream. I only rough dry my roots. My hair is in great condition, looks shiny and no breakage. It took me a solid two years to get here but I'm much happier.

    I have had thin "fairy floss" hair since birth. Tips I learned. 1. Wash in cooler water as hair stretches in hot and makes it more prone to break. 2. No brushing gently use a wide pronged comb. I winced when I saw you dragging that brush through your hair. 3. Cool or warm only hair dryer or leave dry naturally. 4 shoulder length is best.

    Thank you Rosa for the great advice. Yes, I have noticed my hair thinning even more due to my hypothyroid and 47. I’ve always dyed my own hair and these past years I’ve used Madison Reed. I love it, it’s not to harsh on my hair either. But, I will try the Zuvi and other recommendations too. To get that glorious hair. Thank you again.

    Have u tried Hair AF from Gerard cosmetics!!?? My hubby was using that and had new growth in 2 weeks!! He was loosing it all on top and started shaving it all off. We used that hair af and it worked!!!! Now I've done all of these things for the last few years and it does work! I was just looking for something fast for him right then, but he now follows some of my routine. 🙌 and still uses hair af too!

    So happy you are happier with your hair. Starting young (you are) will pay off when you’re my age (73). A tip and a question. Tip is to add Nixoril shampoo as your first wash, and use massager on hair with it b4 you wash it out. That will help get rid of sebum that interferes with growth (per several dermatologists). Question is how you feel about iRestore red light therapy? TYVM for Zuvi review… I’ve been wanting one from someone I trust (that’s you, beautiful).

      Do you mean Nixon shampoo or nizirol

    • @lili7727
      @lili7727 Год назад

      Sorry, the shampoo you wrote doesn't come up on search results so I thought you might have meant nioxin from the salon or nizoral from the pharmacy for dandruff? Hopefully you see this as I'm extremely curious as to which shampoo you recommend

    • @Baycydney
      @Baycydney Год назад

      It’s Nizoral… billed as dandruff shampoo but derms say it’s the go to for sebum removal. Wash first with it while massaging scalp, then rinse and follow with shampoo/conditioner of your choice.

    Thank you for this Risa - all great tips and advice - I have been following mostly all of them for a while now. Not sure if you are currently taking Collagen supplements - I put 2 scoops of unflavored powder in my coffee each morning - you won't see results right away, I would say about 8-10months of doing this daily routine I noticed a huge improvement with my hair. I always had thick hair and as soon as I hit 50 my hairdresser noticed a difference, not as thick - but after a year of taking collagen, I had not mentioned it to her, and one day she said - what have you been doing differently as I notice your thick hair is back! Just an fyi - incase you don't do so already 😊💕

      Same, I stopped coloring mine I added black to highlight the gray there is no color I have Redken shades and want to put a clear coat on just to see my darker pieces come to life the lower part and underneath taking its time to turn gray I see strands coming in, I wish for it all to turn its funny the top growth has darker tones bottom of hair lighter top growth obviusly newer, I'm not going to cut it off tho. I think using Milkshake color shampoo helps me the spray in conditioner too. K18 works better than olaplex for me I find it thickens my hair.
      I don't wash it that much, I use blow dryer after my hair almost dry it adds volume, heat tools barely I use foam rollers or hot rollers no heat.
      I have been using a satin pillow case for years now a satin bonnet it keeps my curly hair looking pretty good next day as well.
      I have Hashimotos thyroiditis.

    There's a couple of supplements which help prevent hair loss. Iron helps oxygen bind to the blood and get to the follicles and keep them alive and in good order, folic acid and biotin are both important for hair, as is copper which I understand also helps with producing the colour. Collagen supplements help too and the final one I can mention is silica. I started seeing some recession on my frontal hairline back when I was 25 (I'm a lot older than that now by more than 30 years) and back then I went to the health food shop and bought some special supplements for hair and nails. They did work and the hair loss stopped, but they were expensive though so I looked at the label and they had mostly iron and folic acid in them so I went and bought just those together and they worked just as well and my hairline stayed where it was. Today it's still in more or less the same place as it was back then. They also had biotin in them but at the time I didn't take that, only the iron and folic acid. These days I take them all separately, I buy the iron, folic acid, biotin and copper all separately and I take collagen powder for my skin and joints anyway. (As an aside, if you're taking collagen supplements, you also want to be taking Manganese - not Magnesium, Manganese, as it's needed for collagen production). The only one I'm not taking right now is silica but I'll get around to that eventually because it's apparently also good for skin. You want to give your hair everything it needs, treat it like a houseplant and fertilize it. If it all falls out anyway at least you can comfort yourself that you did everything possible. Oh, eat lots of protein as well for good hair growth, chicken is good.

    I started taking really good care of my hair about 4 yrs ago from using the good shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, scalp massager, silk pillow cases only, not heat styling, all of this! And I promise u it makes a difference! My identical twin sister is having the thinning issue with her hair and I've been telling her and she wouldn't listen! And now she is loosing it and I have hair down past my booty! Literally! I love my hair! She's been listening as of lately! So I'm anxious to see her results!

    I have naturally thin fine hair, I didn't even realize how thin it was getting until I looked at a picture of myself. Probably around the age of 50 and I was having other health issues, my dr checked my blood it turned out I have a thyroid issues and after being on the thyroid medicine my hair started filling out. It's not thick but I do have a lot so it isn't as noticeable at least. I have noticed your hair looking prettier lately, I just thought it was the cut. BTW great tips.

    I’ve been hearing about rosemary oil but I thought you were supposed to dilute it. Funny you posted this cause I’ve been wanting more info on menopausal hair changes and what can be done lol. Thanks for this video
    Also does that toppik look weird or is it noticeable in bright daylight? I have dark hair and would be worried wearing it in outdoor lighting

      Hi! I actually find that topic looks a lot better in natural light than it does in the artificial light like you see here. As long as you don’t get too dark of a color, you should be fine. As for the Rosemary oil I think you only need to dilute it if you’re using 100% Rosemary Oil. The one I show in the video is a mixture of several oils and is not required to be diluted.

    I know u don't want to hear it. But girl, plzzz leave that mark of beauty alone!! That widows peak is proof that YOU are beautiful! We already knew! 😘 It's the rarest hairline with less than 15% of ppl having it! What I did find interesting is that men tend to have this a lil more than women! Only by about 3 or 4% but, thought it was a good little hair lesson! Lol! LEAVE IT ALONE GORGEOUS! 😝

      Really??? I never knew that. I have a widows peak and I have dark hair. I went swimming in high school with some friends and when I got my hair wet and it was all slicked back this one boy called me Eddie Munster because of the widows peak and black hair. He made me mad and hurt my feelings. Still to this day I am self conscious about it😩

    ❤❤❤Hi Risa, loved your video. 👏🏻😁 Love your tips, too. I just wanted to share what I’ve been using for the past year. I saw another RUclipsr using this and decided to try it. It’s Vegamour. At first, I was skeptical but ordered the drops anyway. I was losing so much hair after having 3 kids and approaching 50 so I was willing to try anything. Since last summer I grew about 5 -6 inches and my front bolding spots grew baby hairs. I too, color my hair because of grays but at home not in a salon. About every two months. In between I use coloring spray to cover my grays. About two weeks ago I ordered their gummy hair vitamins. I’m yet to see if it helps even more. I know that hair loss needs to be treated not only from the outside but also from inside. So, here I am. ❤🤷🏼‍♀️

    Great video. Do you have a link to.Lily silk. I did see it under products mentioned.? And do you use the Micro Sculpting Cream from City Beauty? I received 2 big jars when I ordered the lip products you recommended on National Lipstick Day. I love the City Lips glosses. I wanted to know if you use or like Multi Action Sculpting Cream, now they are offering half price on that cream with a free Ultra Firming Dry Oil for my neck and declatage area??? Need your advice please. Great video got sick of my hair, so I cut it off 12/12/22. I tried everything to grow out a side piece and finally caved. I am 68 and I never felt better or looked younger. My girlfriend never wears makeup or does consistent face and neck body care. She has all grey hair is 2 years younger and she told me last week my skin was flawless 👍. Great compliment. I love makeup especially lip products. The Maybelline Super Stay 24 Skin Tint and Moisturizer is my current favorite angle planning on getting Natasha Deonna " I need a nude palette. Hope to hear from you soon.
