  • This Tidal Gardens coral spotlight is all about Cynarina and Indophyllia. I am lumping these two genera of corals together because they look similar and it is very common for them to be mistaken for one another. Both Cynarina and Indophyllia have an interesting translucence to their flesh giving them a unique appearance. I think they make great centerpiece corals in a low light LPS dominated reef. They are especially attractive in tanks that use predominantly blue light as their color gets washed out to a large degree in daylight colored lighting.

I have a cynarina with an inch skeleton covered with bubble algae. I was thinking cutting most of the skeleton, would that be a problem?

I nearly paid 200 pounds for a cynarina till the shop guy bagged it and it disappeared into something the size of a small turbo snail told him put it bk😜
