Ive got a 2kw heating my house rigtht now at a toasty 20 degrees C , I went into the extra settings menu using the code 9009 I adjusted the fuel settings from 3.1 hz to 5.0hz and overfulled it which gave me white smoke and the heater kept extringuishing itself, once i switrched it off and set it to 3.1 hz again after two attempts to start it it ran fine, they also need to be started at at least 2.5 hz and shut down at 2.5 hz fast enough to clean the burn chamber before shut down, its no good runing them at 1.0 hz to save fuel and shutting them down when the burn chamber is not hot enough, they also cool down faster than their 5kw siblngs purely because at lower saettings thew dont get so hot. im using about 2 litres of diesel a day running it for 12 hours a day on a 75amp car battery no need for a connected battery charger, these little 2kw units are amazing in prodicing good heat output if you dont heat the outside air.
Mark, if the clearance distance between the outer face edge of brown coloured inner combustion fan and the aluminium housing is set with too large of a gap then the combustion will not burn cleanly. I have had this error on a couple of these heaters and the result is a very sooted up combustion chamber and heat exchanger inner chamber. Edit to add: at approximately 6 mins and 9 seconds when you remove the fan and motor assembly the gap between the inner fan and housing look to be excessively large to me.
I ran a bit of compressed air through the intake at startup and IGNITION happened...plus a ton of white smoke but at least I didn't have to open her up. I ran it on lowest setting without running at high for the first 3 months and now know not to forget to burnout the soot with high for a couple of hours once a week. Had 6-7 failed starts with err #8
That's what I was expecting to find inside of mine but it was very clean. I ran some diesel cleaner through it and that might have helped along with some kerosene
Hey do you have a idea why that happened? I bought one, ran for mabey 1 total hour run time,, glow plug burned up, replaced it. Then it worked for about another hour total run time, started the white smoke and wouldn't get hot. Just warm. Took it apart and it looked a little worse than yours did. Any idea why it would do it so quick?
How old was this heater or how much use had it had to get in this condition ? Mine has only done about 8 - 10 hours over a period of 2 months, I don't want to be pulling it apart every other month to clean it. (Great video BTW)
Avoid cheap fuels s we have been fitting them for years and if possible use a little Dipetane mixed in the fuel as it works wonders and we only use Home Heating Oil but the BP Super diesel is first class now and then. If you can the odd time run your heater at Max for around 1 hour and in passing if your heater has it's own built in fuel tank mix a little Dipetane :) Note we tried old engine oil but in time gave problems so we returned back to Home Heating Oil.
What have you been burning in that heater? Do you filter the fuel at all? I'd take a pressure washer after that mess or some compressed air. I can't believe diesel fuel is that dirty. How long has that been since it's been cleaned last?
I had exactly this problem it had been working very efficiently in till we had a warmer/less cold period then I let it just tick over at low temp, this is when things started to go wrong, it seems they like to burn hot this helps keep the combustion chamber and ignition system clean, however after cleaning the same amount of soot as you showed in yours I rebuilt it but now it is showing Glow plug fault, I had bought a new plug and atomiser prior to needing it so changed both G plug and Atomiser but still it is showing G plug fault 🙄🤔
@@MrMeltedwellies did the burn sound like it was surging at lower hz settings? The 2kw one I have was like that brand new. I put a 22ml pump on instead of the 16 or whatever and it ran great
Caused by a badly set controller from the factory in this video caused by controller over fuelling the heater , 5kw or 8kw these are all the same heater. Put in code 1688 to get to factory settings from there you need to set this parameter, ps this is not for the 2kw heater. Put this in . P-1.6 hz p-5.5hz 1680rpm 4500rpm u12v sn1 pf-5 this will have your heater running as it should this is the basic settings from the factory that you need to have it running as intended but if you have build up as in this video you will have to strip it down and clean it with brake cleaner or alcohol cleaner or upvc cleaner from a window company not the cream cleaner with no alcohol 🤣it will not clean it and make a mess 🫠 dont be afraid of these to strip down they are very basic and easy to work on just go gently with the glow plug and the gaskets . If you want to have less fuel use and a better burn you will need to look into diesel heater fine tuning videos on here these will have it running at peak and will last you a long time and with greatly reduced fuel usage , but you will have to put in the factory settings in as ive mentioned above firstly and with clean internals they can also run perfectly well on kerosene and kerosene will run cleaner
Thank you very much for your help Paul I was going to give up on this heater but it's brand new so I'll probably order a controller because it's a 2kw but might have a go first ATB Mark
These diesel heaters are junk. I would recommend to anyone, DO NOT waste your money. I bought one recently. It cost £100, and spent another £150 up grading it with the parts required, Power source, gaskets glowplug exhaust and hot air piping. I managed to run 4 litres of diesel through it before it started throwing 03, then 06 then 09 errors. Because it was Ebay, there is no recourse, it went past the guarantee. But if anyone tells you they are heating their home with one of these. They are lying. Its ok for a shed or garage. The only use for these not very cheap diesel heaters are for creating youtube content on repairing them. If you are not into creating youtube content, do yourself and your pocket a favour and leave this trash well alone. Perhaps, if you bought a new Combi boiler and it lasted a couple of months, you would be furious. It is the same with this cheap junk, you do NOT get cheap, dangerous and reliable house heating for £100. By the time you get a builder to patch the holes in your brickwork and a plasterer to repair the inside costing about £500. That £500 repair bill and the £250 your spent on a junk heater...it is not so cheap.
This is typical of a incorrectly installed heater. New correct Gaskets are safety CRITICAL to avoid Carbon monoxide poisoning. Always use Co detectors in conjunction with these heaters.
New LF bros from Aliexpresse have CO detector and stop work. On video heater use waste oil ? I use clean diesel and I have no problem. a mixture of used oil and diesel can also be used, but only if it is already warmed up and still works, not turning off and on. but still no problem with cleaning, it takes 30 min
Hi John this heater never worked properly i never touched any settings this was straight out the box bloody thing i have 4 of theses heaters all work great thanks for watching watching and comment ATB

The outlet isn't glued, you have to push the tabs in.
Where you running it on waste oil ?? Also the 4mm rubber hose causes mixture issues ??
no clean diesel ,possible computer problem

this thing is brand new only used twice
@@MrMeltedwellies I'd send it back.
The heater is basically a diesel engine.
Why not just use Sea Foam in the fuel and let it clean itself as it runs?
Keep up the good work Mark 👍
Thanks, will do!

how long had that heater been running b4 u open it up thxs andy

Does it use clean diesel or other fuel? There is probably a mistake somewhere when it gets so busy
what have you been running this on and what speed it would seem low speed
Full power and diesel this was brand new and smoked from day one but its fun to play with hopefully ill get it running properly soon

CO occurs from improper combustion
How old is the heater
Brand new
But what caused that
Well I think faulty computer so Iam going to order one and see
Did you get the new ECU/computer?
lick your fingers and put the spit along the wire and it will slide very easy and then in the reverse to slide it on
Nooooo not my toothbrush 😂
Put Yr screws bak in and stop threads getting full of carbon
How do you slow down the fuel pump while leaving the fan at fast I think mine is overfueling
Not burning diesel, thats what happens!
By far, this is the worst and dirtiest inside i have seen.
If you running it everyday, every week for 12 months. It needs to cleaned once a year.
This one is a piece of shit its brand new and never worked properly we think its the computer as we tried everything else
@MrMeltedwellies so, you haven't tested it with the new computer/controller yet.
No not yet changed plug /pump/
Running way, way to rich. Turn down the fuel, boost the air. Needs tuning.

Burn kerosene instead of diesel fuel.
were you letting it ramp up before you shut it down ????? or you runnin motor oil ???
did everything to the book i have 3 more and no problems thanks for watching Ray
