Just because there’s no sugar doesn’t mean it’s healthy y’all!! Butter is all good.. crisco tho- big no! Other than that this recipe is pretty good.
Crisco is literally a bi-product of crude oil 🤢
Thanks for ruining this Karen.

What a healthy option for a delicious dessert! Thanks for sharing my fellow chef!
You are welcome 😊 and thank you!
Beautifully done tutorial! Music soft and not in your face, instructions clear and well filmed. THANK YOU FOR POSTING! it's so frustrating to click on a video and get BLASTED away by the music! Well done❤🎉
Thank you!
Finally I found the healthy buttercream frosting without guilt! Thanks for sharing!
it is still unhealthy tho
Thank you for this awesome recipe, could you show the dairy free please? And, I have used the SWERVE brand products before they are great for taste and for keeping SUGAR LEVELS Low :-).
@@shaunaletta2788 for dairy free you can either use your favorite dairy free butter alternative or you can use shortening, 1:1 substitutions with the recipe in the video. Both work well!
Should avoid trans fats and shortening is all trans fat. Is there a different option that omits the shortening?
Yep, just use all butter
Have you ever tried making buttercream with xylitol or BochaSweet?
Not yet! Have you had any experience with it?
@@ButtercreamParties no, but I just got some BochaSweet so I'm going to test a small batch this week. 🤞🏻 🍀 Xylitol affects blood sugar too much so I'm not going to bother trying that one.
I made frosting with Swerve before, but it has this interesting cooling effect. Is there another zero sugar confectioner sugar to use?
I have tried both Swerve and PureCane and they both use erythritol which causes that cooling effect. You can try a powdered Xylitol and maybe that would work?
What do you mean by cooking effect? I’m thinking of making cupcakes for my neighbour who’s diabetic
@@ButtercreamParties I'll have to give that a try. I mean the cooling effect is interesting lol
@@wokebear7797 you know that feeling that mint gum or peppermint gives off? That cool feeling? It's like that, but no mint taste. It tastes really good nonetheless (:
@@EGORElicious It's more like Vicks vaporub cooling. It's not a sweet peppermint, it's just cold.
Does this icing freeze well, like if I wanted to freeze the crumb coated cake ?
I haven't had a chance to freeze this one but my other crusting buttercream recipes freeze very well. I sometimes need to rewhip it but I usually find that is not necessary.
Can coconut oil be used in place of crisco?
I'd be afraid of the coconut oil melting. You could try it out with a spatula (as opposed to a piping bag where your hands would heat it up too much) to see if that works.
What if younuse all butter?
You can use all butter still and just replace the powdered sugar with the sugar free powdered sugar.
Is this recipe good to frost/decorate a cake?
Yes, it's great for cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and even brownies!
What do you add to color diabetes-friendly frosting?
Hi Dan! I don't have much experience with diabetes-friendly food dye. Sorry I'm not much help.
For sugar free frosting to color it I use Wilton Food Gel, it what my grandmother uses ever since she found out shes a diabetic .
idk what that is
Crisco is bad for you.
Watching this gave me a headache.
