Haha you know I'm happy as hell you've come around. Vessel is such a deep character both the performer and the lore. The character has sacrificed his life and love to Worship sleep, and that can also translate to the sacrifice an artist endures to persue their craft. You're not sure if the human shell of vessel is speaking to his former lover, if he is fighting with sleep directly, or to himself. Writing like this makes the music so vulnerable and authentic.

Hearing the album in its entirety and seeing the lyrics now all in context, it tells a pretty clear story arc that makes every "piece" so much better. AOTY for sure. Initially I didn't like the second half, those songs are a little more subtle with not as much "smack you in your face" surprises or as instantly memorable hooks, and seems slower than first half. But now I am so much more addicted to the second half than the first. They are beautiful songs and really grow on you. "Infectious" was a perfect way to describe it!
Have you ever heard of Karmanjakah? Please check them out or react to their new EP if you haven't, trust me when I say they will absolutely blow you away (Some of the most beautiful and uplifting prog metal EVER). I know you're someone who loves VOLA and Agent fresco, those are my two favorite bands and Karmanjakah are now right up there with them for me. If you don't believe me check out some of their first album! Keep it up dude 🤘
I think you might find the band Lorna Shore interesting.. specifically the Pain remains trilogy... 3 songs that tell a story with video or the Pain remains entire album is good from beginning to end. The drums.. the guitar solos and the vocals are out of this world good.

10/10 video because you didn't scream and shout like the other men. TMBTE 9.5/10 because severe lack of trumpets.
