This song hits my feels so hard
I don't even care that it's not heavy
same this track came outta left field and
absolutely wrecked me
Everyone else's reactions are all feeding on the negative train. It's a nice change of pace to see a real Sleep Token fan listen to this song. I love every track
They vary on everything. Doesn’t have to be bone crushing guitars on every song with their style
I felt like this was a week where I was definitely on a different page than everyone else, but I'm not mad at it. still rocking this song and new Spiritbox on my playlist 🤷♀️
To fully appreciate sleep token you have to have a wide and deep appreciation for many very different musical styles and genres i think, the second i heard the song i knew most of the metal community was gonna be negative on it but as somebody who can listen to Deftones, The Weeknd, The 1975, Bathory, Garbage, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Tool, Frank Ocean, Spiritbox, Bad Omens, Hundredth, Pierce The Veil, Bring Me The Horizon, Panic! at the Disco, Lana Del Rey, Mitski, Public Memory, Bauhaus, Joy Division, The Cure, The Smiths, Glass Animals, Gorillaz, etc.. i mean this just sounds like a good song to me from a bamd that for the most part puts out nothing but bangers. I know people will say its too pop but i dont see the issue with that. The lyrics and music still are phenomenal and they set a tone so damn well and this song hits me right in the heart so deep. Im just glad they feel comfortable doing whatever they feel like doing that makes them happy
@@Angel7black agree. My music taste is pretty broad to begin with.. finding this band is just like my playlist... from Dying Fetus to Mamamoo .. haha.
Love Sleep Token
I love it when Vessel uses the vocoder
the song hit me so much harder when I realized, too relatable
The monster being a distorted and broken heart is a very beautiful thing to add in the video. Broken, patched, twisted. I wish she loved me right now...
Sending digital hugs, homie.
@@Mutant_X98 thanks, dane. This group really hits somewhere in me. Worship
I’m an old school metalhead & only just discovered Sleep Token a few months. Their sound is so unique. Their harder stuff is awesome but I’m love this track. I was in the car listening to DYWTYLM & a friend said, I don’t normally listen to this type of music. My reply was, I know and this is so soulful and love it.
They have not missed. One of my favorite newer bands. So good 🤘🏾.
In completely earth-shattering news, I also love this song. 😂😂 I am so excited to be able to listen to this album in whole.
The vocoder effect is the same as "Fall for Me" and the reverb on the backing vocals that sound far away is the same as "The Way That You Were." He even does the same vocal melody from that song near the end. I think those 2 tracks tie directly into this one. Everything they do is intentional. Releasing this track during the eclipse as well is masterfully timed, especially when it relates to the lyrics. Worship 🙏
I’m enjoying this new track. It hits hard and drives home the message for me personally rn
Very crushimg lyrics with this track, but I suppose that can be said with most of their discography lol
Amazing, Sleep Token so cover so much of my music tastes. It's what makes them so unique and wonderful.
This song reminds me of their song Fall For Me and I absolutely love it!
Aqua Regia grew on me immensely too! DYWTYLM is also a banger and always exciting to not know whats coming
been loooooving DYWTYLM since this video. it’s right up there with Aqua Regia for me now! i guess i’m really feeling the vibey singles on this record haha
The reaction you give once Vessel start singing is exactly how I react when I haven't heard him in a while. His voice always manages to strike deep and rips the emotion right out of us.
This one is not at ALL like the others, but it's definitely not something they haven't done before....definitely "Fall For Me" vibes
Fall for Me and Love You Want vibes
Yes!! I'm definitely picking up the Fall for Me vibes as well
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve listened to this song but every time I listen I love it more and more. The lyrics to this one is heavy, definitely a self-healing song. I think too many are hung up on the music not progressing and no heavy drops but Vessels voice/lyrics are the main focal point that so many have overlooked. You always mention “good headphones” what do you recommend?
Any beats headphones is good
@@pepeg1954 lol no, you don't know shit
Good headphones would be stuff like, in no particular order,
1. Beyerdynamic DT770/DT700
2. Sennheiser HD560s, HD600, HD650, HD660s, HD58x
3. HifiMan Sundara, Arya, Edition XS
4. Philils SHP9600
There's a lot of other good headphones, and a lot of those are open-backed and/or require an amp, so there's that too.
Personally my daily driver for at home use is the Arya Stealth's running through a Fiio K9 akm which is a great unit for saving space on a desk. I would recommend getting Sennheiser hd600's if it's your first big headphone purchase. Pretty much anybody who is a musician, self proclaimed audiophile or just likes decent audio has owned a pair. It's like an industry standard for consumers, it's also been in production for a long time so there is a ton of availabilit. HD600 is the BEST sounding headphone for a budget, they are always like 200-300$ and they are very transparent when it comes to how an artist records their music. A lot of cheap headphone/iem's use what is known as a bass shelf to artificially create more bass in the mix when it wasn't there to begin with.
And get yourself a small desktop DAC/Amp there are various brands like Schiit, Fiio, Topping, and many more. Personally if you want something that will be headphone upgrade proof (until you get into some insane high end headphones) go with the Fiio K7. Great sounding single unit (no messing around with a ton of cables to start with) and can power tons of cans and some speakers like a champ. It's the little brother to what I use. There is an even cheaper version the K5 but like why bother... 50 bucks for something that is just substantially better. And let it be powered for like an hour before you go ranting and raving about how awful it sounds. Amps need to be left on for a little bit to warm up so they'll progressively get better sounding as you listen if you just plug n play lol.
Openback headphones leak sound out and let sound pass through so consider your environment before pulling the trigger on a headphone.
it definitely depends on your preferences and what type of experience you want, it's really worth doing a little bit of research into to see what may appeal to you. it changes the experience entirely, in my opinion. even good quality speakers make the difference.
there are some good recommendations in this thread! Sennheiser, Shure, there are some good models from Sony. it will really depend if you wanna go an earbud route, over the ear, open back, etc. there are better quality headphones in every price range than listening through a phone speaker or old set of headphones for sure!
anyway, personally at the moment if I'm wired I'm using a pair of Shure SRH840A studio headphones. if I'm using my earbuds I use AirPod Pros 2. my speakers, either bookshelf Klipsch or my Sony XRS-XB23
for some reason, i just vibe with this heavily. it doesn't really develop much yeah but somehow, something about it is captivating. maybe i just needed to hear them do a lofi pop track.
Great insights. After 2 days of constant rotation in my playlist, it stands alone and it ranks almost even with Chokehold for me.
Man, this song hits me right in the feels! Those are some powerful lyrics, powerfully delivered. Such a cool contrast with the rhythm line, which honestly reminds me of "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran (not a diss just a comparison) -- those muted marimba tones give this a sonic feel I'm struggling to find words for.
Love it!.
Can't wait for the Album
This is such a simple amazing song. Gives me huge The 1975 vibes from their second album. Not comparing, but I get the same type of feels from this as I did a song like Somebody Else.
I am convinced the lead singer of this band is Dan Smith from Bastille.
Took me way too long to realise (by reading a comment elsewhere) this was him singing to himself in the mirror. Some of the lyrics suddenly became absolutely heartbreaking...
the high harmonies also make it feel like both versions of him are singing, but are on completely different pages. "my reflection just won't smile back at me like I know it should"
this song is extremely dismissed by a lot of the fanbase but to me it's an absolute banger. I've listened to it a ton
Great that you have your ticket! They are so good live! I do wonder if they will add this to their set list? It would probably change some people’s opinions on it if they did. Out of all of STs songs, this has hit me emotionally the most with the lyrics, particularly the smile back at me in the background towards the end. Makes me want to give him a big hug! I think it’s beautifully written, although at the same time the music feels so chilled! Thanks for a good in depth reaction 😊
I'm seeing them again this fall, too! Aussie shows don't have support. Unless they surprise them at Brisbane. Aussie friends on line in Brisbane said still saying no openers. Wondering if they will do the same here. They sold out without announcing support so maybe none. Worship!
yeah I know someone who is going in Australia and they said the Facebook event says "no support, will play music from doors until Sleep Token goes on" or something like that! never really seen that before but I guess that's not surprising with Sleep Token haha! hope you enjoy!
The song is a good vibe. I kind of wished that Vessel showed off some more of his range on this song, but it’s catchy as fuck.
this song is just ❤❤❤
Yes.
good take, great song, they never miss!
Big agree with needing context of the album. Personally Aqua Regia was my favorite straight from the get go. I love how they've been adding so many new elements to the songs.
Slosh 💙
Before I Turn - Oxytocin came out a few days ago I remember you liked their last album :) maybe you missed it.
This song may be the most emotionally impactful on the entire album. It’s only elitist “metalheads” that are willingly ignorant to how good their non metal songs are.
Thanks for being amazing!
I fuck’n love this song!🙃✨
I can hear this song on wakanda forever soundtrack.
This has definitely been the most WTF track from the new album so far, but I'm loving it. Can't really compare it to much else they've done, although I feel like had they added some instrumentation to Fall For Me on the last record, it might have come out something like this. This almost feels like an expansion on that to some extent
Rachel. I would love for you to check out the song flying by karmanjakah.
It’s different yet Vessel. But confirms my thoughts on the vocoder
Also not ragging it is fantastic like everything they have done
Nice shirt😊
Very much not for me but glad you enjoyed! Think I can confidently say this album won't be for me but I'll still be checking it out to hopefully find a couple of tracks I enjoy!
great track, great production, love that it is as understated as it is!
your microphone is distorting quite a bit in this reaction, wrong input settings?
I loved the vibes of this song but I feel like it never resolves. Like it never built into any type of climax. That's my only critique. The melodies, etc are all fantastic. I just felt like I was waiting for a musical pay-off that never came.
Just like loving, and not getting loved back, eh?
@@Mutant_X98 If you want to call it that, I suppose so 😂
What would be wild is if none of the released songs were on the album. How f'n crazy would that be???!!!😅😅😅
that would definitely be...crazy.
Any other band, first reaction would be "wtf". Sleep Token though, did you really expect them to conform? And if you did, boo on you.
Makes me laugh that other reaction streamers are hating on this...they've clearly not listened to much of their back catalogue and are just reacting for clout!
@@stevecuthbert5150 they should go way back to From the room below, and *then* make new song reactions. "this is not Sleep token" statements are popping up all over and it's ridiculous as hell.
@@Cosmoskind or just listen to this place with be your Tomb front to back and you'll understand that these types of songs are either end of album or just a lead into another song theme! Until the album is released we'll never know! But to dismiss this as "Not Sleep Token" is actually embarrassing on the reactors part and just highlights their lack of knowledge and appreciation of their music.
The lyrics destroy me. And the thing that kinda scares me is that I didn’t vibe with this song the first 30 times listening through the album, but for some reason it played last night and I heard every word. Had me crying my eyes out completely unexpectedly.
i really love this song and i know everyone else pretty much hates on it haha. what i really love is if you pay attention to those higher harmonies, it's two different versions of Vessel. the ones he is singing about in the song.
Lmao what the hell is this band even? They do it all!
Hey Rach, random question but was your full album reaction deleted by any chance? I love seeing the Euclid reaction and now I can't find it anywhere 🥲
Spinefarm blocked my video unfortunately so it's only on patreon :(
alright, brb crying...@@RachelleReacts
Bro, 30 under 13 by Better Lovers is released. Check it out! This beats the sh up 😍🔥🔥🔥
What happened to your full album review?
Spinefarm unfortunately took it down so i can only have it on my patreon now
1st listen on this was meh. 3rd listen was ohhh. 10th listen well shit... Vessel is in my brain and heart.
Sleep Token does pop better than pop
Unpopular opinion in this chat for me…this song is a big ooof. Even tho the lyrics maybe deep the instrumentals to me don’t go along with it well at all.🤷🏻♂️🫠
Sleep Token is a great band and they have released quite a few insanely good tracks yet not everything they create is pure gold. This track is a big no for me and I will just leave it at that.
Another boring track from an over hyped band.
Another boring comment from a stuck-up commenter.
Okay sir
interesting how you never have anything positive to say, yet you continue to comment anyway. you're free to have your opinion, but at some point it becomes less about expressing your opinion and more about putting down others for enjoying something. let people have their fun, and people will let you have your fun with the things you enjoy in return.
@@madhya sorry you don’t agree with my opinion. Like I said this band seems over hyped by reactors and puts out boring tracks 🤷🏻♂️.
@@madhya The consistent negativity is common in people who take pride in going against the grain and relishing in controversy. If there was actually any substance to his opinions, he would be constructive and acknowledge that music is enjoyed and appreciated subjectively; instead of blatantly disrespecting the band and their music. His comments aren't worth reading!
Rachel. I would love for you to check out the song flying by karmanjakah.
I will be because the band emailed me asking me to do it as well as a few friends asking. when I'm ready though. I'm getting caught up so everyone is asking for something.
