If you’re ever fishing for a video idea, maybe try a matchup focus video for Death Guard. Maybe a top 5 best/worst matchups or even a tier list. Then you could update it every now and then as the meta changes.
Great Video. One thing that doesnt get mentioned often for -1 Save is that Cover e.g. only helps on Saves until 3+ so if you are in contaign range the enemy cant do anything on ap 0 Weapons because the contaign changes their save characteristic. Armor of contempt -1 to ap. Cover only goes to 3+. So they can never go on their 2+ in most cases while in contaign. Deathshroud loves these trick ;-)
Guilty of thinking and promoting some of those bad takes lol. This was an incredibly useful video. I really feel like I understand the nuance a bit better now.
Good shout especially vs demo charge heavy builds. But again if they didn't bring any and are just trying to spam bodies with OC maybe we look at other contagious?
What a great find for painting the last of my Plague marines! I run half of my stinky bois in og Death Guard colors for the suns of Barbarus and half classic green for the 'new' recruits. Including one squad of formerly Dark Angles I've let keep some of their old armor before it rots away. I have a few Boltguns, but that's mostly just anticipating the codex probably reigning in our special weapons amounts so I don't have to redo them. Then again I can just get more. Praise Nurgle!
Great breakdown!!!! I find looking at what contagion I want to use 90% of the time when building a army is big also. I found for me my terminator themed list needed the -1ws/-1bs to survive to do any damage for all the reasons you listed off. Where my more plague marine one the -1 save rips open people with rhino rushing.
I wonder if the -1 OC will be more tempting with the changes GW has mentioned for Pariah Nexus. If battleline units get +1 OC, giving a -1 OC to negate that bonus could be pretty good. You're keeping the bonus for yourself while completely removing it from your opponent, and Plague Marines already seem like they are pretty solid Battleline already. OC 3 per model while making your opponent "stay at" OC 2 could be pretty good?
my group plays blood angels, world eaters, orks, black templar and chaos knight by now i use -hit nearly all the time (-sv for knights) cause it "feels right" thanks for explanation, gotta test around more
The video is trully amazing. Thanks so much for the information bout the Contagion. I do have a question: it is said "until end of battle", meaning till the end of a battle with one person or through whole tourney? I'm asking cause i'll participate in "the rising stars" 1000 pts tourney next week and i've gathered my DG army of: Mortarion, Plod Squad, Deathshrouds x3, and Deathsrouds with Typhus and really trying to figure out as many in and outs as possbile for my faction.
Its a bit tough to be honest but always remember they cant reactive move to a disembark and they can usually only do it once so try to push two units at the same time and most people will reactive move the first one so make sure you go in first for the unit you care less about to bait it out.
Daemon prince (and with wings), slimux and soul grinders technically have lower armour saves than their invulns. I still don't think you'd ever take -1ap against anything short of daemon prince spam (wtf?), but technically...
Is someone able to please explain the Champion’s role/significance? I’m assembling my first Combat Patrol and the instructions give me the option to make either a Plague Champion or a regular Plague Marine with one of the models. Is a Champion required in each unit to play? Does the Champion have to have the power fist or equivalent or could any Plague Marine be selected as a Plague Champion?
what would you take against an admech player that is playing with tripple your models with the only intention being board control? they don't care if they never shoot and don't care if you take out models. They are playing fixed with Homers and Cleanse
Wait what, you have a choice of contagions? I thought there was 1. the -1 toughness? Am I using the right data sheet from GW site? ?!?!? wheres the list of contagions?!
I wanted to spend time focusing on the two primary contagious because it's much more niche but if you do want an example. 18 wraiths match up in a teams format is a great decision to take the -1OC/LDSHIP if your team got good pairing and you simply need a draw. You reduce the wraiths to 1 OC which makes them unable to trigger their power matrix as the entire unit is now 7 oc instead of 13 oc. This means you can deny a huge amount of output and scoring potential regardless of whether you can kill the wraiths or not. This will maximize your possibility to keep the game to a draw whereas the other choices or much riskier. I have more examples if you want them but it really is niche. Niche isn't useless though
@@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien Well, tbh, I do :) Because that was a real hot take. I'm not even sure that your example is right. Because -1BS on Wraiths negate their dmg potential much better than no matrix. Yes, Necrons can play around -1BS, but they can play around -1OC just as well. But -1BS has a lot of general utility
@@LumberJAN Hitting on 5s with a reroll is mathmatically superior to hitting on 4s with no rerolls. But the main point of it is to stop them also scoring and denying your primary, in teams its all about the points differential and in a bad match up your going to lose hanging onto every point you can is more important. That what i mean by niche. I have done the -1WS/BS vs the 16 wraith match up and honestly they still get enough hits with rerolls to kill PM's now again if your rocking mainly terms with a 2+ save different scenario but its the whole point of the video to show that what works in one scenario doesnt work in all. If your in a singles event vs wraiths im probably taking -1ws/bs but in teams im taking OC and scoring as much as possible.
Against almost most transport based xenos armies that have access to good OC denial options, -1 OC should be the go to Vs Votann, kroot, drukhari, index Orks this helps you control who has to pop out of the transports first which gives you the upper hand And vs necrons in particular be it making ctan OC 3 so you can drive a bloat drone next to it and sac 90 points to ignore it for a turn or vs wraiths the -OC/ld shines too Scoring wins games and having a special rule that affects one of the most important stats is kinda nuts

I can´t understand why this channel only got less than 6k subscribers! Thanks for another highly usable video.
Appreciate the kind words!
Completely agree. It's top tier content. Love it. They'll get to 50k soon enough
Best faction channel on RUclips
That's a big compliment, thank you
This is legit . Nurgle Bless.

Yep brilliant point! Good shout!
Been wondering about this?

Love this channel :) papa nurgle bless
Lets gooooooooo
I'd say the -1bs contagion is also an auto-pick against GSC. They have bad saves and like to deepstrike within 3"

Thx buddy!
-1 save in melee against 2+/4++ buffs your plagueknives (many attacks, lethals on 5+) quite nice! Chips off some last wounds quite often for me...
Those knives have finished off so many custodes nurgle bless
High quality advice as usual!
I kinda got off of death guard for a bit, but this information is still applicable, regardless of what faction you play. Thanks a lot Aiden!
8:34 yep, lol
Great video man, been catching up as I'm behind in 10th and your content has been really helpful. Appreciate it dude - thanks!
Happens way too often damn sixes
FINALLY
I've been waiting for this one for a long time also! 🎉🎉
Good insights

Awesome stuff, love the focus on teaching over takes to help us all improve as players

Great video. Made me reconsider a few things. Means you must be doing something right!
Love your videos BTW. Do a unit overview list???

Its to the end of the current game your playing so round 2 at a tournament you can pick again etc etc
I really like the frame of you are in control of -1sv vs bs/ws. Any thoughts on how to deal with reactive move, high mobility armies?
Its a bit tough to be honest but always remember they cant reactive move to a disembark and they can usually only do it once so try to push two units at the same time and most people will reactive move the first one so make sure you go in first for the unit you care less about to bait it out.
I'm finding more and more that the -1 WS/-1BS is more important.
If it works it works!

True but if you ever did come across demon prince spam..... MAYBE

I camp nurglings near my units with -1ws contagion. It can be very busted.

wheres the list of contagions?!
There's an FAQ that gave three new contagions that are in addition to the -1T
As phil has said check the latest downloads for death guard index and its part of the detachment rules :)
@@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien yeah I did thanks, turns out I had the old DG unit sheets
