I love the plague surgeon model, but agree he's overcosted and underuseful. Simple tweak would be healing any infantry model D3, and respawning a marine each player command phase. That by itself would make the 65 pts fair. I suspect that was his original rules in playtesting and it got redacted at the last minute but the points stayed the same.
Love this content. Very helpful. Using what you are yea honing for my own games and noticing a big difference in the way I approach the game and the outcomes. Thanks for your content.
I had just said to my buddy 5 minutes before seeing this "Man wish my other DG characters where more worth using." I say the same thing about bolter plague marines. Edit: Really like your break down of the different ones. I keep eyeing the bell guy as I use to love having him in my list when he gave reroll advance aura just to get my drones flying off early. Would love to see the Virions effect our army contagion so that each have something special they do and multi of the same one feel less impactful, want that with all armies in the game tho.
Hi, I use the Icon Bearer in a 10PM squad with Biologous Putrifier. I have the unit sitting in a Rhino and drive turn 1 as far forward as possible, let them get out and use the Icon Bearer's ability. In the shooting phase I just let the PBC do its job in combination with LoV. The 10PM squad with Biologous then takes over board control and does a lot of damage. The whole thing is then played with Rattlejoint Ague. In addition, because it fits points-wise, the Icon Bearer also has Living Plague. In my beer and pretzel games this is a very effective combination. Greetings from Germany
The video is really amazing, really loved it, since i play DG myself. Tho there's a question: where's Malignant Plaguecaster? Or he's that bad that you didnt want to add him in the vid?
So the plaguecaster is not a virion character, virion characters are the ones in the video who are solely there to buff the plague marine squad they attach too. The plaguecaster is an amazing unit that i run 2 of in a rhino every game. If you check out the top 5 combos video theres a section on the "plague bus" which explains the plaguecasters
my ideas to fix some virions would be: surgeon hand out fnp instead of reanimate or reanimate+heal D3 for his own squad (like crons) tallyman should read "on the battlefield or is embarked" to slightly balance it out make it unavailable when his unit or transport is shocked blightbringer just adds one inch whenever his unit moves, excluding pile-in and consolidate
What do you suggest we do to get the maximum effect out of our poxwalkers for those of us that have like 60 of the lil buggers? Any tips and tricks to make these things dangerous and or amazingly useful? As it is im thinking of chopping them up (the extras) and kitbashing their parts into other models or use them as terrain decoration
Would a FBS be worth in a 7 man Unit w BioP? For my 1000pt list, I have the choice between keeping my 1 poxwalker 10 man for obj or getting the extra 3 Plague marines for a 10 man
So the core concept is using 2 units with grenades followed by typhus. The first unit will pay 1 command point to use the grenade stratagem, then the 2nd unit will use the biologous putrifiers once per game ability to use the grenade stratagem for free, Then typhus will use his ability to pick a unit and deal d6 mortals on a 2+ to them, On average your looking at around 9 mortal wounds on any target before anything has shot yet.
@@deathguarddisgustinglyresilien got it! i thought i was missing something, but you were just saying that typhus’s ability works exactly like a grenade stategem (which makes perfect sense). thanks!!!
'Good' and 'Bad' are ultimately inconsequential to my enjoyment of the game. The real metric is 'Sick' or 'Cringe.' Foetid Virion, on a scale of 1 to 5, are all Sick.
I can't wait for the surgeon to get a rework when the codex drops and it becomes Aiden's absolute favourite
I dream of this day too
Comment for the disgustingly unfair algorithm.

Blightbringer should be +2 to advance and charge rather than reroll
The dream
Drop Icon Bearer to 35 points, Skitarii Marshall gives full reroll to hit at 35 points :-S
Awesome video! Love the breakdown on the units.

His reroll advance and charge is only for the unit he attached to.
@@AriousArchaic That is why I said “use to” back when characters where not unit leaders.
Lookin really good, Team. Nurgle Bless
Very helpful videos. Keep them coming. Papa Bless
I bought a Plague Surgeon after watching this
Brave Soldier
Great vid. Thanks friend.
Prayers up that one day GW sees fit to complete the Thousand Sons with cool stuff like Death Guard 🙏
not played death guard in 10th yet , but you make them sound good

Great video as always 🎉
But i do recall the plague surgeon being the MVP at one point!
Great video as usual.

Putrifier is such a rad unit, it never occurred to me the synergy with flux strat too

Taken the Tallyman, three times now…..Never ever ever again!! He has given me ONE CP out of those three times. Not even close to worth it.

I'm trialling a 3 rhino list, difficult to fit in BP and Foul Blightspawn and still have points for other things :-D
Plagues for the algorithm
Noxious Blightbringer is a beautiful model.
Shame it sits on the shelf.
Do you guys have a Discord? Or is that a "PM" Bonus?
Is there a Discord or a patreon, I thought I remembered there being one but I can't find it now
Yes but you have to be a youtube member
26:00 it’s Sanguous Flux not Sanguinous Flux :)
Can a unit throw grenades and then still shoot?
sorry, could you explain the typhus/grenade strategy a little better? i feel like i missed it, or i'm missing something. cheers.

Wait, am I crazy or did we miss the Malignant Plaguecaster?
He isn't considered a Virion character
He says around the 1:15 mark that he's not counting Lords or Plague Casters
Oh I must have missed that part lol. But doesn't he fit the "leading plague marines" and having the t5 4 wounds stats?
Plaguecaster got a whole video to himself already
