It's unbelieveable that a dough which has not been kneaded either mechanically or by hand for quite a while on at least one occasion can come out as soft and pliable as this - I'm going to give this a go 🙂

I've made these three times since you posted the video. Made dinner rolls, hotdog buns, hamburger buns and this last time made half as dinner rolls and half as a loaf bread. They are very soft when fresh and freeze well. If they are left out for a few days they dry and while still good, they pale vs day 1 bread. Great recipe. Thanks for posting this video John!

I tried many variations of the bread enrichment ingredients (eggs, milk, oil, sugar) from omitting one to doubling one or more and using water vs milk. Most of the initial variations were mistakes, now it's based on what I have at hand. Bullet proof bread recipe that's never disappointed. Thank you for posting this!

I made these today - finally. I used buttermilk because that is what I had. They turned out so good that I ate three of them in a row (my greedy self popped out) yet I feel only a little bit of shame!

I've made these three times since you posted the video. Made dinner rolls, hotdog buns, hamburger buns and this last time made half as dinner rolls and half as a loaf bread. They are very soft when fresh and freeze well. If they are left out for a few days they dry and while still good, they pale vs day 1 bread. Great recipe. Thanks for posting this video John!
PS butter instead of oil is a good thing to try, but they are fine either way!

I tried many variations of the bread enrichment ingredients (eggs, milk, oil, sugar) from omitting one to doubling one or more and using water vs milk. Most of the initial variations were mistakes, now it's based on what I have at hand. Bullet proof bread recipe that's never disappointed. Thank you for posting this!

The texture wouldnt be as good, but experiment making it in slightly differant ways, and take notes, then you'll see and taste the differance yorself.

Calabrate your thermometer using boiling water 100°C. Deep dish, so the buns will rise upwards and keep there shape in the confined space.

Hello John! If I were to order a book, or four, from your website for delivery to the states, what is the difference between “economy small, and standard small” and do I have to choose one over the other? Thanks
Standard to USA for 4 books 1kg is 7 to 10 days, Economy to the states is 10 to 20 days for the same 4 books, you can also choose tracked which actually works out cheaper than standard,. but most people use economy for internation shipping, as 10 to 20 days is an estimate for busy periods, it'll probably get there much quicker in quieter times.

Have you ever tried using amylase in your bread recipes? I'm told it makes for a beautiful soft bread. I have the amylase, I just haven't tried it yet 😇
