Inspection can be reset by following steps below: 1. Car off 2. Hazard lights on 3. Press brake 4. Hold down “0.0/SET” button 5. Start ignition while holding button 6. Press “OK” when prompted
This video is half correct. You as a driver/owner can reset without any tools. Read below. 1. Car off 2. Hazard lights on 3. Foot on breaks 4. Press and HOLD odometer reset button 0.0/Set button 5. While holding reset start the car 6. Car should ask if you want to reset inspection notice, click OK on stealing wheel 7. Revel that you don’t need to have this tool that was just told you needed and that this guy bought just for this!
Pls I want to ask what does it mean as it is showing up on my Volkswagen Passat 2014. Inspection in 20days. Does it means my car due for service in 20days or I can just reset myself I don’t av to take it to mechanic just just reset it myself. Thanks..
My 2015 Passat TDI just flashed an oil change now light. I have performed the steps here, which are also repeated in the owner's manual, but it does not clear the warning. Very frustrating. It appears that it is going to work, I get same menu options shown. But the oil change now alert persists. Any ideas? Thank you.
You probably have the inspection service light on too, do the same procedure but before doing that press the emergency hazard lights button so the lights are flashing and then do the reset procedure again and it should reset.

You can do it yourself. Same process just turn hazards on to do the inspection light
To reset the Inspection light just shut the car off hit the 4ways tun the key while pushing the buttin
Or you do the oil reset procedure with the hazards on and it’ll clear just like the oil light did.
It worked. Thanks a lot
Turn on hazards and do same procedure to reset inspection light for 2016
Actually you can reset inspection without a scan tool
What if it’s push start
On push button, press the start button 2 times till all cluster lights light up, do not step on brake pedal.
thanks
what do i do if i reset it and it still says i need an oil change?
