    I've always loved the "thunk" hollow sound that molded cases make when snapped. It's such a robust noise.

    After a long time of nylon gear, Ive finally made my mentor proud and invested in buying a nice $90 Dutyman brand Sam Browne belt and the gear to go with it, as a sort of mini celebration for earning my first service stripe.
    I gotta say, I never really cared for the look much with the nickel plated "silver" buckle and snaps, but with the gold buckle and accents matching my gold badge and fancy gold buttons on my uniform and my gold collar brass...goddam, every time I put my uniform on and check myself out in the mirror before heading out the door, I feel fucking professional lol.

    I know my Bianchi belt can be cleaned, protected and polished up with some armor all orange wipes followed up with a cloth. I have a feeling that would work on this also to clean it and keep it looking good.

    Hero pride had nice duty belts and pouches that look like real Safariland Sam Brown Belt. I have a Bianchi basket weave elite duty belt on. I have all my Safariland Basket weave pouches on it. If the Hero Pride comes in the buckles 94 series. I would get it. Great set up and video.

    I’ve had three different Air Tek duty belt. 2 out of 3 started to ripping near the taser holster and my gun holster. Other then that they are great duty belt. My first duty belt I outgrew. the other duty belt and started ripping I still have that one in service.

    Nice duty belt and pouches Heros Pride Air teck very nice. I been using Safariland basket weave Sam Brown belt 94 and pouches for 17 years now. It wore away and ripped so I replaced everything one last time before retirement. I went with Bianchi accumold Elite duty belt but all Safariland basket weave pouches again. Our Dept. In Wisconsin Allows basket weave and plane black and that's all.

    Switched to nylon belt and pouches with a Velcro under belt. Never going back. It's super light, no brass to maintain and I need zero keepers. Even with all the gear on it, it doesn't sag or shift.

Ironically enough, I find your channel the same time I become a security officer in Poplar Bluff Mo, also a major fan of LE, but I was wondering if you could on your opinion of cops that get a big head doing their job, or let the job get to their head. Possibly do a video on it would be awesome. Also thank you for your service.

    One of my gripe I had with bianchi accumold fake leather in bw I started using that as a sro . It wouldn't hold up just about every pouch would start doing that fraying at the edges in fairly short time so I went with real leather bw haven't had a issue. However heroes pride has cought my interest good video . I'll show my age I to remember the pager box

    Nice stuff. MY SAFARILAND Sam Brown came in a few days ago. Looks great, but they gave me the buckle belt by mistake. I ordered the 94 belt in basket WEAVE. IT took 6 weeks to come in? WTF! My Captain and 2nd shift Lt. Kept asking me every week for 6 weeks. Hay dougie, has your new belt come in yet?! Then they would smile?! Lol. The manager at Streichers asked me if I could wait and he would call SAFARILAND and correct the package! I go 6 more weeks? I go NOT A FAT CHANCE IN HELL GIVE ME THE BUCKLE BELT! LOL. I WORE IT TO WORK THE NEXT NIGHT! MAN EVERYONE INCLUDING BOTH DETECTIVES WERE CLAPPING AND YELLING HAY HAY OUR BOY GOT HIS NEW BELT IN. THE LT. SAYS HAY, GUYS? LOOK AT THAT DON'T HE LOOK PRITTY?! WHAT EVER LOL.

    Do police get a budget to buy their own equipment like this? Or are they issued a typical set of equipment from providers that is already decided on by the station? Or can police buy their own stuff and use it, such as different branded cuffs/guns/baton?

    • @howtogetdisowned7478

      It varies. Some departments don't even provide the belt.

    • @BluMurmillo
      @BluMurmillo 2 года назад +1

      It’s going to depend entirely on the department as they all have vastly different policies. In my experience you’ll be supplied almost all of the gear and there is policy on what you can and cannot carry and how it will be carried. Depending on the department you may be allowed to carry a personal backup gun or a patrol rifle.

    Man that took me back to when l was a rookie 18 years ago, when a patrol officer's uniform look professional and it was simple, now they carry everything but the kitchen sink. Thats a good belt man.

    • @awmperry
      @awmperry 2 года назад

      Still looks professional, but as the remit and toolbox expands more kit is needed. On my belt, for instance, the only things I've never used are the two things - baton and cuffs - that I'm legally required to carry. The weight is from the capacity multipliers (torches, tools, water bottle carrier, first aid kit and so on) that I need daily to do my job.

    • @timoanez4668
      @timoanez4668 2 года назад +1

      @@awmperry I keep it simple stupid, l switched to nylon because is lighter and easy to replace, 2 spare pistol mags, radio, 3 sets of handcuffs because you may have multiple suspects of a really large guy, a small flashlight that fits in my pocket, baton, and pistol, l don't carry a taser or OC spray, l carry water but stays in my car, l carry a suppressed MK18 in my car with a go bag with spare AR and pistol mags, my medical kit is on my ankle, and a lasso in my truck because l work in South Texas. All the extra stuff stays in the car, l carry what l need. Sounds like you got way to much stuff man you need to cut back on some.

      @@awmperry Never used cuffs 🤔

    • @awmperry
      @awmperry 2 года назад

      @@ironmatic1 Yup. My point is about kit being adapted to the task; regulations for my role are issued by the police, and they require me to carry baton and cuffs. Under Swedish law, however, handcuffs are to be used when needed (and constantly reassessed) rather than applied by default with every arrest - and when arrests, let alone violent ones, have so far been rare at my posting (fingers crossed), there’s simply never been a need for either of the two.
      My torches and Wave tool, on the other hand, get used almost daily. My radio holders are in constant use. My water bottle holder is always stocked. Even my first aid kit gets used every few weeks.
      A nearly empty belt shouldn’t be a virtue in itself, but a belt suited to the task should.

    • @awmperry
      @awmperry 2 года назад

      @@timoanez4668 You’re carrying way more than I am, mate. :-)
      Nylon is my preferred belt style for exactly the reasons you describe. We don’t carry firearms, so we don’t need mag pouches and stuff. Most of our posts aren’t vehicle-based, so it’s all got to be on me.
      You work with what you’ve got. :-)
