The arm with the black knob is supposed to go all the way up to the roller when extended. That's what the gray latch is for. Slide it up until it locks in, then put tension on the fabric and tighten the knob.

Thank you so much! I bought a used trailer from a dealership and you are the only instructions I can find. The last owners put the awning away wet so now I have to clean it...but at least I can operate it for the 100+ weather.

Previous owner of my camper let the strap roll up into the awning. Now how do I open it?

Get a ladder and unroll it by hand until you can get the strap.

We ended up taking it to Camping World and got it fixed. Come to find out the strap was missing and had to have a new one put on. We took it for our first camping trip and absolutely love it.

This is the wrong way 😐 The inner arms should go to the upper end of the outer arms.
