I think GSC were genuinely incredibly ambitious with the first STALKER, and were just let down by their shitty X-Ray engine (AFAIK it was an in-house engine, right? Which in-and-of-itself is an incredibly ambitious feat for such a small, then-unheard of studio), and probably a few other factors too. I mean why else are we still talking about it - and playing it - in 2023? ♥ Please, GSC, don't fuck up STALKER 2 🙏
Damn, can't wait for the 3rd part already Also, fun fact: there was a dialogue with the (now dead) soldier from 8:45 - Vasil Luckless - that got cut from the game. Vasil was heavily wounded but still able to talk. He was supposed to mention the Monolith's positions and give Marked One the military attack plans before dying. He would also mention that his squad was actually waiting near the Zone's border already for a month before the attack, and that the army's special forces are supposed to rush in to support them

But that leads me to another one.. Who is he, what if he isn't a loner, why was he stalking you possibly through the entire game, is he an ex- military soldier, how did he get past every single enemy that he faced, and is he special forces. Reasons/reason for the 2nd theory: 1. I get this voice line each time I play the game, no matter what. 2. He couldn't have seen our character or know who we are. 3. It makes the most sense because he would have needed to have a lot of combat training and experience. 3.
