After you pull out the coils, lift up the pans, rinse and let soak in hot soapy water. I usually clean the top surface next, so if any thing drops below, I only have to clean the underneath once. Grab the hole and lift up gently like a sedan car trunk, and you can access the underside.

It might be a great idea, but we don’t use cling film in our house anymore. We never let our hob get anything like this. It’s kept perfectly clean every day. I couldn’t stand to have a hob like this!😲😖😫👎if you keep on top of it in the first place, then it doesn’t need this kind of treatment/deep cleaning.

Mine doesn't get that dirty but with a chronic illness I've had times where it got crusty and no energy to clean the time it happened. I often get a hot water soaked towel wring it out as good as I can let it sit to loosen up the crusties.

Thanks so much for sharing these! I've had really bad depression my entire life and due to a complicated childhood I never really "learned" to clean. It feels embarrassing to say, but keeping a clean living space is something I've always struggled with and it's caused me a great deal of shame, causing the problem only to get worse. Seeing this type of content really helps me to not feel so alone and gives me a great place to start. Seriously, thank you. :') This means more than you know.

Even my wife criticizes the way i clean even thiugh i take an hour or so to clean. I've been super depressed as well lately and I wish someone took the time to see the signs. Hang in there, don't give up the fight.

I used to work for a public housing authority. I went to a few properties of deceased residents with no next of kin to do a value check. It always made me feel sad. It was clear that these people were living in their loungerooms because of stuff. So much stuff. They didn't have the mobility to clear out the stuff to the bin or to even take the bin out.
What made me sad was that there were always wedding photos, photos of kids and grandkids on the walls, Christmas cards from a decade ago, but these people lived alone, surrounded in filth that they couldn't cope with. I often wondered how often people died early due to lack of support, and because of what they lived in. They isolated themselves out of shame and wouldn't/couldn't ask for help before it got so bad.
You are a gem. I know you do these for free, there should be companies in every country that offer these services for free to people who need them.
