Cheap $1 Skull Mask Upgrade

These Halloween skull masks are only $1 at Five Below and as-is they look pretty meh. But a super fast simple paint job really takes them up a notch to look like much more expensive masks. I used a dry brush and a wet brush technique on these. If you haven't done dry brush or wet brush techniques I'd give it a try and learn a new skill! It's a great way to add detail and depth to anything you create with dark colors in the shadows and bringing out all the highlights. I use one or both of these techniques on just about every prop I paint.
