    Me, before clicking: "Yeah, yeah, massage chair, seen it a million times." Me, 25 seconds into the video: "I was so wrong and this is brilliant." Very clever, and economical to boot! I could see doing this as a vertical panel in the wall of a haunted house, using stretchy fabric painted to match the solid walls.

      Go for it!!! The electronics part of this is super simple. Just plug in two wires and you’re done. Probably the best motorized prop to start with and one of the favorites of people visiting my yard haunt. I have a lot of things with subtle movement like this and I’ll watch as families stop and the kids get excited when they spot another thing moving in the graveyard.

    Awesome video. Instead of using black plastic what about using black landscape fabric? Its cheap and will not get stiff if colder temps. Just an idea.

    • @digitaldecorstore7268
      @digitaldecorstore7268  Год назад +2

      Hey thanks! I had thought about that but where I live in Utah we tend to get snow in October so wanted it as a protective barrier for the motor. Also I think the bottles would have a higher chance of snagging on the landscape fabric. I bet if you used tennis balls or something with a super low chance of snagging landscape fabric would work a lot better with the temperature changes.

    • @digitaldecorstore7268
      @digitaldecorstore7268  День назад

      You can poke holes in the low points of the plastic if you want some drainage but I haven’t had much issues with it. I live in Utah and we often get both rain and snow in October.

  • @Ethylamine
    @Ethylamine Год назад +2

    This sounds cool, but if I was doing it I would maybe add some more detail to it, like for example on top of the plastic that goes into this dummy coffin box I would put some leaves on top of it or maybe fake blood to kinda add detail to it overall, and that would make it look cooler I think. But yeah definitely this is a pretty good idea for Halloween decoration.

    this is great. can you use a battery to power this?

    • @digitaldecorstore7268
      @digitaldecorstore7268  Год назад +1

      The specific motor I’m using in the video runs on AC power so you’d have to do some power conversion to get it to run on DC batter power. Probably be better off trying to find an equivalent DC motor instead so you don’t have to do any power converting.

    Great prop and I'm attempting to make it. How did you attach the pipe to the motor?

    • @digitaldecorstore7268
      @digitaldecorstore7268  Год назад +2

      There are a couple options. If your motors came with attached caps then that’s the easiest. If not you can always drill a small hole near the end of the pipe through both sides. Then use a cotter pin, thin nail or anything else that is long enough to fit through the pipe and the small hole in the motor shaft. You may want to pack stuff around the motor shaft so the pipe doesn’t bounce around and has a more snug fit on the motor shaft. That’s how I did my skeleton rotating the bbq spit in my other video.

    What size pvc did you use?

    • @digitaldecorstore7268
      @digitaldecorstore7268  11 месяцев назад

      I believe it is 1/2” PVC. That’s what most of these motors come with for the attachment. It’s also what I use for most props since it’s fairly cheap and also is the exact size to fit inside of pool noodles for other types of props.

      You would need a WAY stronger motor like a wiper motor or something else with high torque. These little synchronous motors are for very light weight projects.
