  • Join Marc Teer and Mike Newman as they answer the questions on the ARE 5.0 Project Development & Documentation Mock Case Study. This is a division on the new version of the exam, ARE 5.0, and it focuses on all issues relating to the development of design concepts, the evaluation of materials and technologies, selection of appropriate construction techniques, and appropriate construction documentation. Case studies are one of the new question types you can expect to find on ARE 5.0.

    On the test, you can use the Ctrl-F function to search by text (keywords) to find things faster in the PDFs.

    Thanks for the video! I am testing tomorrow and it was great to see a mock exam example other than the one NCARB has on its website and was a great refresher to get me in the ARE mindset.

    For the first question @26:40 with 1 person per 100 gross for occupant load, why did you divide from 40,000 nsf and not 50,000 gsf?

    Also, it seems worth noting that the technically correct math follows: 400-50 for the first 50 occupants)/50 (per occupant) = 7, +2 (for the first 50 occupants) = 9, 9/2 ...etc...

    Car windshields are laminated glass, like skylights. Glazing 18" from floor in a building and side windows in car are tempered.
