I’m thinking of doing that, especially cause things like flight simulator, back4blood, Forza horizon 5 etc will all be included. The value is outstanding and a massive price difference in the consoles is so appealing. I just haven’t pulled the trigger buying yet.
Series s is perfect for sailors and military honestly. It's small, fits in those gaems station cases, and takes up little room in racks and bags. Its so powerful and easy to stash.
The xbox series s is FANTASTIC. for $299 you get quick resume faster processing times and so much more. Im not a fan of playing games on discs so its perfect for me. And at the price range and what its capable of doing its 100% worth it in my opinion
I don’t have a pc but I decided to go for the s because I’m not too big of a graphics guy, I just wanted the special next generation features like loading times so I felt like the extra $200 wasn’t justified for me
I’ve never understood how people play more than 2-3 games at a time lol storage isn’t a issue if you stick to games finish and delete them and if your playing 7 different multiplayer game I don’t know how anyone can keep up with that.
@@monty3281 In my particular situation cod is a 25 min download I guess it’s just different because I can download games pretty quickly if you have bad internet I definitely understand wanting more storage so you don’t have a 8 hour download on your hands.
Just got mine today and love it! Yea, low storage may be an issue, but I only play 2-3 games. I’m a busy guy, with a family and it’s perfect for me! And, all my apps are on my Xbox 1. My Series S is strictly for gaming
Sadly SSD, and NVME SSD still expensive but I have this and a newer gaming laptop even on there still had to settle for 512gb ssd for the hardware I wanted. But honestly storage is a worthy sacrifice for budget or good hardware. Just have to grab a drive later lol

@@topshagger4348 a major improvement it’s a next gen experience it makes everything smoother and look better it looks the same as the 5 or X except the only difference is resolution not graphics if that makes sense.. like things are sharper but the graphics are the same… especially if u don’t have a capable tv
The thing with limited storage is that the series S still let's you store the optimised games on the external HDD just not play them. This means you can still have many downloaded and just transfer them to the internal storage when you want to play
@@nojakthegemlad yeah I totally agree it's a pain in the ass but for me I would rather go through that than buy the storage expansion cards for almost the price of the Series S itself. And yeah you're right it wouldn't help the total lifespan but modern SSDs are rated for so many read/writes now that honestly it should not be an issue
Btw, you can use for series S|X on external Samsung Evo ssds, also, some, like Halo MCC run on the Segate 4TB Hard drive as well, didn't test the lower end ones but still, there are a lot of options. Also you should have mentioned ea play being included with GamePass Ultimate as well as xCloud and some other offers, but nice vid, keep it up! Edit: Also, about the game pricing problem there are few sites like G2A from which u can get the codes, and games can be moved, so it is a good thing to store games on a hdd, move them when needed on the SSD
I currently own a PS5 digital and it’s my #1 console that I use all of my time and all of my friends own one as well, however, I’m highly considering picking up an Xbox Series S to solely be my Halo/Bethesda game machine. I haven’t seriously played Halo since 2013 and considering Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft, it just seems like a good idea to get the smaller, affordable console to play those few games and maybe some older Xbox 360 games like FO3, New Vegas, and Oblivion. The Game Pass just makes it all the more alluring as well.

This actually sounds like the console for me. Grew up a PS gamer most of my life and looking to get a PS5 eventually. On the other hand, I’ve been wanting to get an Xbox mainly for the exclusives (Halo Infinite, Starfield, etc.) and game pass. Thanks for the info man.

About to buy one with game pass, I don’t sit around and play games a lot and just want the convenience to sit and play when I have time, I’m excited to give this a try!
You do need to make the new next gen games only run from internal SSD. This is because the game developers then can make game designs that rely on the super-speed (with compression) of the hardware / SSD of the internal and Seagate expansion. It's the same is the PS5. These new higher speed SSD's will allow developers to create more seamless experiences, much less loaning, load on demand things they. may need instead of having a load screen, pause the experience.
Tempted to buy it for my living room just for shows and movies, wish it had a diskdrive for 4K movies but guess online streaming services can be fine. Just waiting for the SX and PS5 for the gaming room.
This is my official customer-review for you that I left in the comments. I feel this might help you make your decision. “I wanted next-gen for awhile now, did all the research, looked at all the best prices online, and watched a lot of “RUclips reviews” and finally…finally got the Series S a few days ago. 7.6/10 If anyone has questions I’ll be happy to answer. I’m just going to tell you this: if you want to feel like you’re playing on the modern-day console…yeah get the Series S if you can find a final price for it around $320 (Sams club is doing a series s bundle for $350 btw, shipping included takes about 2-3 weeks but without membership they charge extra $40). But if you want to feel like you’re playing on actually next-gen future mode…definitely save up and get the series X if you can find it for around retail price! The Series S is more for people who aren’t too crazy about gaming and just kinda want something more modern around the house. Sure the graphics get better with the S but if you told me this is what I was going to get after waiting 7+ years for a new console to come out…I would have spat in your face 😂. For me the storage it comes with is fine, I have The newest Far Cry games installed, BF5, Apex, Dying Light, and a few other smaller games and still have about 85GB left. When new games come out I’ll just delete the older ones. 60fps is great but when it comes to textures the S lacks big time. The colors are more vibrant forsure but when we’re talking about detail, the S just doesn’t hit that line, and I’m talking about some pretty big details. It’s quiet but the air that comes from the fan gets pretty hot after an hour or two of gaming, I can only see that damaging my Xbox as time goes on, it’ll just get slower and slower eventually making the Series S obsolete. So like I said if you just want something modern, get the S But if you want something TRULY next-gen-alien-witchcraft-y-worth-your-money, then get the SeriesX or wait for Ps5 pro-edition.”
I've always wanted to get a ps5, since I was a playstation fan my whole life, since I got ps1-4. But the problem with the ps5 is that it's hella expensive and games are way too expensive now a days and I'm just an 17 year old who gets money via parents so I can't spend unlimited money on games. I just got mine yesterday Here is something that will appeal to a certain group. I am playing Burnout Revenge! I, GLADLY, paid ten bucks and I am so happy. People will say this game was my childhood but it was my midlife crisis! I had been down and out and missed the entire Xbox, Gamecube, PS2 generation of consoles and had never owned a 'gaming PC. In 2006 that began to change. I got an Xbox 360 even after building my first PC from parts. The nostalgia and memories. I have played a lot more online multiplayer in Burnout Revenge than any other game. I am more of an old campaigner. It would be nice if there were a way to play it online again or for this much loved franchised to be revived. The crashes. The music that I wouldn't even like if it wasn't for it being the soundtrack to this game! The traffic checking and drifting can be so satisfying1 Oh yes I am also playing Halo 5 Guardians and loving that too. I have the MCC on PC but it does not include this one. Very much looking forward to playing Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 on PC and Xbox.
I own a PS5 with disc drive, Switch, and a Xbox One since 2018. I went for that over the One X due to pricing and barely any difference. When you go for PlayStation, I highly recommend the disc drive. Xbox tends to focus more on digital games (they are a software company to begin with) and there is some benefits out of that. Disc games have the better chance for sales, especially for third party. I am not a third party person and do more first party titles. They take longer to drop in price, but digital Xbox titles have a cross buy feature for the PC. Game Pass is also cool, but what happens when the internet goes down. The disc medium saves all of the original data of the game, so you can still play it in case it's no longer on the Xbox store. Its cheap, but I recommend waiting until a price drop on the Series X. I will get the Series S if that also drops, but between 100-200. The Series X until it reaches 300 in two years or som

With PS5 you just have to wait for the sales but they are ripping off people with the upgrades of games you own vs Xbox and gamespass. I’ve also just ordered the M1 12.9 iPad and was looking between that and your TV to upgrade my Panasonic plasma so no wonder RUclips recommended your excellent channel!
So can I use a regular external hard drive to be able to download and play my old games? Because 500gb isn’t a lot. Not even enough to download all of my old games.
The Series S is a great console but my biggest complaint about it is they should have put a 1 TB SSD on my 4K TV I'm running 1080p at 120 FPS instead of 4K that is upscaled at 60 FPS.

disk less gaming has actually been working well for me. Anytime I'm at a friend or family members house, I can just log onto their console and play my games.

I'm not a huge Xbox fan, honestly I'd rather have both PS5 and XBOX But I'm only getting the Series S because how outrageous the costs of the PS5 and Xbox Series X are! 1k dollars, even at Walmart! That's too much, if I wanted to spend that much I'd buy a PC dude! And I'm not much of a gamer anymore, I'm 15 got my first job. I just want to play new games and enjoy having a current gen console after 7 years of not being able to. Xbox series S is the only console that's still the original price.
And I will say, for the first time ever, Microsoft is saving me money. That's a big thing especially since Minecraft got turned into a money grab because of them
I bought an Xbox Series S and I ain't regretting it. Sadly people overlook them because they lack 4k gaming but as long as I can play next gen gaming I am not complaining.
So for advice, would you recommend getting a Series S? I have a launch day Xbox one (500GB) and One S digital, not many disc games anymore and those I do have I don't play just collect. Been playing all digital since I got the One S. I don't have a 4K tv and probably won't till they are available like all other tv's at a decent and affordable price. I play between 10-15 hours a week if I'm lucky due to family and work. I would love to get a Series X but they aren't available. I could find a Series S. I only play 3-4 games a year at a time. Plus I’m used to installing and uninstalling games for new ones.
I myself have never been a fan of Xbox, always hated the controller, and the UI has always confused me. However, realizing that I can play Fallout 4, and Skyrim with actual mods has made me look deeply into this Seris S. It's much cheaper, great quality, and I can put aside my distaste for it long enough to learn the UI and maybe even the controller. And having watched this video and seeing that I could also play Marrowwind and Stalker 2 has just made me think this is a good idea even more. Im still gonna get a ps5 the moment that I can. Bit the Seris S just seems like too good of an option to pass up.
I have the series x afterall I got it back in November I was on the phone with Microsoft while they helped me place the order on November 9 2020 right before it's come out I got it on Christmas eve. Having the series x is pretty awesome. Best regards Nikita.K

Does anyone else A button double input randomly? It happens like 10-20% of the time. The console is brand new and it happens on two new controllers both when wired and over blue tooth.
I have a series x and a nice TV to handle it. My brother just upgraded from his one s to the series s. So now I can clearly see and compare. All in all, the series s will be most peoples best choice. Personally I still much prefer my series x (of course), as I need my 4k and bigger SSD storage. 4k at 60 or 120fps is on a whole other level. But playing with the series s, I do have to say it's a great little beastie. 1440p or even 1080p is plenty for most people, and higher framerate is awesome. If you are not addicted to slightly higher graphics and 4K like me, the series s is a very very good choice.
Got a series s yesterday after having a X already .... love Xbox my only complaint for both is storage !! Even with 1tb is fills up . Yes a harddrive is a option but I feel like it's ssd or nothing for me at this point.
I finally decided to settle for the series s because I can’t find series x ANYWHERE… and let me just say I’m so impressed. It’s a HUGE upgrade from the Xbox One S. Sure… I guarantee the Series X is a much better console… especially considering it has true 4k…. BUT if you are upgrading from a previous Gen console…. The series S is still a huge update… and you could also get it for now and sell it when you’re finally about to find a series x.
I bought the series S just last week, which came with 3 months of game pass out of the box. I also bought the Seagate SSD separately, which came with 2 months of game pass. So here I am, getting five months of game pass for free. I’m playing with my 4 TB SSD installed and linked up. Playing on my 4K TV, which I can play up to 1660 P on some games. 1440 P for other standard games. Ray tracing and dual shadow casting is included. P.S., you can set up the series S for up to 120 FPS with the right TV.
My 8k tv have problem with 4k 120 it's a 4k 60hz I don't know what it's problem and Dolby vision problem Samsung q700t 8k tv. It can run 1440p 120hz. And also have problems with Mclassic hdmi adapters and hdmi switch.
I’ve been on PS since day one and not being able to get my hands on a PS5 I felt like I was missing out. It was only through watching youtube I came across the series S. I was confused in thinking how the hell it was considered a next gen console for £250 and I could go to a store and just pick one up. I took the plunge and bought one. The only thing I was impressed with was the frame rate and loading times. The TV I had was HDMI 2.0. Wanting to get the most out of the Xbox I bought a tv with HDMI 2.1 and a 2.1 HDMI cable, and oh my God it was a game changer. Literally!!. This little white console is an absolute beast. I was curious to see what GTA 5 looked like and I’m not joking it blew me away. The series S is worth every penny, and more.

Imagine getting a new car. You’re filling out paperwork with the salesperson and you can’t wait until you finish signing .You grow impatient and you just want to finish up so you can feel and smell the new fresh car scent. You finally finish, the salesperson shakes your hand and hands you your new keys. You exit the building, quickly walking to your new shiny car. You finally open the door and the first thing you do is get a huge whiff of the fresh new car scent. Only to find out that a homeless man took a massive smelly dump on the driver’s seat. Now your lungs are full of feces air and homelessness butt gases. Not only that but your whole car stinks like crap. Now you feel like vomiting and worst of all, the joy of buying a new vehicle is gone. Ruined by the massive dump the homeless man took in your seat. That huge feeling of disappointment and disgust is what you’re in for if you purchase a PS5. There’s very little going for it,. No Gamepass and the awesome features it has, $70 low replay value remakes , little to no backwards compatibility, small SSD where you’ll run out of storage in no time, no emulation. I know a lot of those points, including the small storage issue are being addressed by SONY, but it feels like the true value in gaming is on Microsoft’s side this generation. They have done everything right that has brought me back to their system.
Just bought mine, get delivered Wednesday, absolutely buzzing, the storage is a bit of a disappointment but don't think I'm willing to spend that amount on a ssd so contemplating just ordering another series s instead

Isn't that a pain in the ass though? Also constantly downloading, deleting and redownloading games can't be good for the SSD lifespan.

And yeah you're right it wouldn't help the total lifespan but modern SSDs are rated for so many read/writes now that honestly it should not be an issue
So basically buy a external hard drive, store series S games on it and when you wanna play them transfer it to the console and game up?
Btw, you can use for series S|X on external Samsung Evo ssds, also, some, like Halo MCC run on the Segate 4TB Hard drive as well, didn't test the lower end ones but still, there are a lot of options. Also you should have mentioned ea play being included with GamePass Ultimate as well as xCloud and some other offers, but nice vid, keep it up!
Edit: Also, about the game pricing problem there are few sites like G2A from which u can get the codes, and games can be moved, so it is a good thing to store games on a hdd, move them when needed on the SSD

The lack of storage space and the absence of a disc drive are big concerns for the Series S
I currently own a PS5 digital and it’s my #1 console that I use all of my time and all of my friends own one as well, however, I’m highly considering picking up an Xbox Series S to solely be my Halo/Bethesda game machine. I haven’t seriously played Halo since 2013 and considering Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft, it just seems like a good idea to get the smaller, affordable console to play those few games and maybe some older Xbox 360 games like FO3, New Vegas, and Oblivion. The Game Pass just makes it all the more alluring as well.
This combined with the PS5 is a perfect next gen setup! That’s what I have done!

You do need to make the new next gen games only run from internal SSD. This is because the game developers then can make game designs that rely on the super-speed (with compression) of the hardware / SSD of the internal and Seagate expansion.
It's the same is the PS5.
These new higher speed SSD's will allow developers to create more seamless experiences, much less loaning, load on demand things they. may need instead of having a load screen, pause the experience.

I’m just going to tell you this: if you want to feel like you’re playing on the modern-day console…yeah get the Series S if you can find a final price for it around $320 (Sams club is doing a series s bundle for $350 btw, shipping included takes about 2-3 weeks but without membership they charge extra $40).
But if you want to feel like you’re playing on actually next-gen future mode…definitely save up and get the series X if you can find it for around retail price!
The Series S is more for people who aren’t too crazy about gaming and just kinda want something more modern around the house.
Sure the graphics get better with the S but if you told me this is what I was going to get after waiting 7+ years for a new console to come out…I would have spat in your face 😂.
For me the storage it comes with is fine, I have The newest Far Cry games installed, BF5, Apex, Dying Light, and a few other smaller games and still have about 85GB left. When new games come out I’ll just delete the older ones.
60fps is great but when it comes to textures the S lacks big time. The colors are more vibrant forsure but when we’re talking about detail, the S just doesn’t hit that line, and I’m talking about some pretty big details.
It’s quiet but the air that comes from the fan gets pretty hot after an hour or two of gaming, I can only see that damaging my Xbox as time goes on, it’ll just get slower and slower eventually making the Series S obsolete.
So like I said if you just want something modern, get the S
But if you want something TRULY next-gen-alien-witchcraft-y-worth-your-money, then get the SeriesX or wait for Ps5 pro-edition.”
I've always wanted to get a ps5, since I was a playstation fan my whole life, since I got ps1-4. But the problem with the ps5 is that it's hella expensive and games are way too expensive now a days and I'm just an 17 year old who gets money via parents so I can't spend unlimited money on games. Right when I discovered the Xbox series s combined with the game pass, I was overwhelmed. Thank you for this video, it really means a lot

I am playing Burnout Revenge! I, GLADLY, paid ten bucks and I am so happy. People will say this game was my childhood but it was my midlife crisis! I had been down and out and missed the entire Xbox, Gamecube, PS2 generation of consoles and had never owned a 'gaming PC. In 2006 that began to change. I got an Xbox 360 even after building my first PC from parts. The nostalgia and memories. I have played a lot more online multiplayer in Burnout Revenge than any other game. I am more of an old campaigner. It would be nice if there were a way to play it online again or for this much loved franchised to be revived.
The crashes. The music that I wouldn't even like if it wasn't for it being the soundtrack to this game! The traffic checking and drifting can be so satisfying1
Oh yes I am also playing Halo 5 Guardians and loving that too. I have the MCC on PC but it does not include this one. Very much looking forward to playing Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 on PC and Xbox.
I own a PS5 with disc drive, Switch, and a Xbox One since 2018. I went for that over the One X due to pricing and barely any difference. When you go for PlayStation, I highly recommend the disc drive. Xbox tends to focus more on digital games (they are a software company to begin with) and there is some benefits out of that.
Disc games have the better chance for sales, especially for third party. I am not a third party person and do more first party titles. They take longer to drop in price, but digital Xbox titles have a cross buy feature for the PC. Game Pass is also cool, but what happens when the internet goes down. The disc medium saves all of the original data of the game, so you can still play it in case it's no longer on the Xbox store. Its cheap, but I recommend waiting until a price drop on the Series X. I will get the Series S if that also drops, but between 100-200. The Series X until it reaches 300 in two years or som
The PlayStation 5 to my knowledge isn’t native 4K lol it’s upscaled 4K I could be mistaken but I’m almost 100 percent sure

With PS5 you just have to wait for the sales but they are ripping off people with the upgrades of games you own vs Xbox and gamespass. I’ve also just ordered the M1 12.9 iPad and was looking between that and your TV to upgrade my Panasonic plasma so no wonder RUclips recommended your excellent channel!

The Series S is a great console but my biggest complaint about it is they should have put a 1 TB SSD on my 4K TV I'm running 1080p at 120 FPS instead of 4K that is upscaled at 60 FPS.

I bought an Xbox Series S and I ain't regretting it. Sadly people overlook them because they lack 4k gaming but as long as I can play next gen gaming I am not complaining.
So for advice, would you recommend getting a Series S? I have a launch day Xbox one (500GB) and One S digital, not many disc games anymore and those I do have I don't play just collect. Been playing all digital since I got the One S. I don't have a 4K tv and probably won't till they are available like all other tv's at a decent and affordable price. I play between 10-15 hours a week if I'm lucky due to family and work. I would love to get a Series X but they aren't available. I could find a Series S. I only play 3-4 games a year at a time. Plus I’m used to installing and uninstalling games for new ones.
I myself have never been a fan of Xbox, always hated the controller, and the UI has always confused me. However, realizing that I can play Fallout 4, and Skyrim with actual mods has made me look deeply into this Seris S. It's much cheaper, great quality, and I can put aside my distaste for it long enough to learn the UI and maybe even the controller. And having watched this video and seeing that I could also play Marrowwind and Stalker 2 has just made me think this is a good idea even more. Im still gonna get a ps5 the moment that I can. Bit the Seris S just seems like too good of an option to pass up.

Does anyone else A button double input randomly? It happens like 10-20% of the time. The console is brand new and it happens on two new controllers both when wired and over blue tooth.

My brother just upgraded from his one s to the series s. So now I can clearly see and compare.
All in all, the series s will be most peoples best choice.
Personally I still much prefer my series x (of course), as I need my 4k and bigger SSD storage. 4k at 60 or 120fps is on a whole other level.
But playing with the series s, I do have to say it's a great little beastie. 1440p or even 1080p is plenty for most people, and higher framerate is awesome.
If you are not addicted to slightly higher graphics and 4K like me, the series s is a very very good choice.

Got a series s yesterday after having a X already .... love Xbox my only complaint for both is storage !! Even with 1tb is fills up . Yes a harddrive is a option but I feel like it's ssd or nothing for me at this point.

I finally decided to settle for the series s because I can’t find series x ANYWHERE… and let me just say I’m so impressed. It’s a HUGE upgrade from the Xbox One S.
Sure… I guarantee the Series X is a much better console… especially considering it has true 4k…. BUT if you are upgrading from a previous Gen console…. The series S is still a huge update… and you could also get it for now and sell it when you’re finally about to find a series x.
I bought the series S just last week, which came with 3 months of game pass out of the box. I also bought the Seagate SSD separately, which came with 2 months of game pass. So here I am, getting five months of game pass for free. I’m playing with my 4 TB SSD installed and linked up. Playing on my 4K TV, which I can play up to 1660 P on some games. 1440 P for other standard games. Ray tracing and dual shadow casting is included.
P.S., you can set up the series S for up to 120 FPS with the right TV.
I usually get 1440p quality with my standard monitor with around 60 fps

The only problem with the controller is that it requires a different power cable to charge power pack no longer universal

My 8k tv have problem with 4k 120 it's a 4k 60hz I don't know what it's problem and Dolby vision problem Samsung q700t 8k tv. It can run 1440p 120hz. And also have problems with Mclassic hdmi adapters and hdmi switch.

I’ve been on PS since day one and not being able to get my hands on a PS5 I felt like I was missing out. It was only through watching youtube I came across the series S. I was confused in thinking how the hell it was considered a next gen console for £250 and I could go to a store and just pick one up. I took the plunge and bought one. The only thing I was impressed with was the frame rate and loading times. The TV I had was HDMI 2.0. Wanting to get the most out of the Xbox I bought a tv with HDMI 2.1 and a 2.1 HDMI cable, and oh my God it was a game changer. Literally!!. This little white console is an absolute beast. I was curious to see what GTA 5 looked like and I’m not joking it blew me away. The series S is worth every penny, and more.

Imagine getting a new car. You’re filling out paperwork with the salesperson and you can’t wait until you finish signing .You grow impatient and you just want to finish up so you can feel and smell the new fresh car scent. You finally finish, the salesperson shakes your hand and hands you your new keys. You exit the building, quickly walking to your new shiny car. You finally open the door and the first thing you do is get a huge whiff of the fresh new car scent. Only to find out that a homeless man took a massive smelly dump on the driver’s seat. Now your lungs are full of feces air and homelessness butt gases. Not only that but your whole car stinks like crap. Now you feel like vomiting and worst of all, the joy of buying a new vehicle is gone. Ruined by the massive dump the homeless man took in your seat. That huge feeling of disappointment and disgust is what you’re in for if you purchase a PS5. There’s very little going for it,. No Gamepass and the awesome features it has, $70 low replay value remakes , little to no backwards compatibility, small SSD where you’ll run out of storage in no time, no emulation. I know a lot of those points, including the small storage issue are being addressed by SONY, but it feels like the true value in gaming is on Microsoft’s side this generation. They have done everything right that has brought me back to their system.
