i'm a PS guy, but i love how MS engineered their consoles this gen, it looks so compact and efficient. i'll probably get an series S next year when halo or their other big hitters come out and supplies increase
You love it if you are multiplayer over 1 player story games. Game pass and how the Xbox enhance old games ( also current popular multi games) is fantastic. Matters more then youd think. After demon souls and Spider-Man playthrough the PS isnt getting used anymore for me its all Xbox now.

I rather want a "blocky" type Console as a console that looks "futuristic" but take to much space. I do own a Xbox 360 and i was thinking this console is big. I love my Series S. It’s a perfect “cheap” next-gen console. Great for occasional game pass games and streaming. The big boy PS5 stays in the living room, but this is good for the bedroom
I got both in bedroom with a 49 inch lg with 2.1 hdmi Im getting 120fps on both consoles on cod cold War Obviously ps5 looks better as its 120 in 4k but still 1440p 120fps not bad for series s!

@@shumrei the series S is perfect for 1080p/60fps for most games. Most people I know that game are fine w/ that performance. I went with the XSX for the extra features and power but...most people I know would prob just go for the S and not care

If nobody in the comments has mentioned it, the sync button also acts as the IR receiver for the media remote controls, which is why it’s not a matte finish.
I’ve had my S since Nov, first time back to Xbox since 360. I’m loving this thing, perfect for the TV I have as it’s not 4K. I have a 3TB external HD hooked up to it for the games I will play, and the games I’m playing on the internal SSD. I’m new to GamePAss as well and its an amazing service. So overall a PS guy that is now mainly playing his S, I give it a 9/10. I’m very happy with this thing.

Some games like ori do native 4K on the series s it’s basically to the developers and it also upscales to 4K if your tv supports it’s a great mid tier next gen console
@@isturbo1984 Not to rub it in but the op hasn't missed out and actually made the smart choice. They can now enjoy the last gen games like they are new games aswell as current gen games which by the time they get around to them will be much cheaper. It's never been a better time to get an xbox and with gamepass a lot of us probably won't even need to buy any games.
Haven't had an xbox since the 360, the series S has blown me away. I couldn't recommend this system more. Especially with all the scalping going on with the series X and PS5. Picked up Two of the series S on Amazon for a very good price. My wife was so impressed with the series S she had to have one too.
I feel like the Series S was an incredibly smart move on Microsoft's part. Not only does it give people a more affordable option, but the lower price also should get Sony and Nintendo leaning gamers to dip in more easily as a second or third console. I've personally never owned an Xbox system, but I've never been more interested... Assuming they can deliver the games in the next year or two.
I love my Series S. Got it on launch day since I couldn't get an X and couldn't be happier. I've already taken it on a couple of trips so definitely good for traveling.

No, the system all together with controller is $300. No system should come without a control as it would be unplayable. So they both to hand and hand. An EXTRA controler is $60.

I used to have all the consoles growing up all the way to the GameCube. Then I went to college and I was distracted by women, beer, and trying to get good grades. I sold all my games and systems. Regret it hard now. Later I bought a Wii well after launch and mostly played Galaxy on it and Mario kart with the wife. Fast forward to 2018 and I’m convincing my son that he might want a Nintendo switch for Christmas. I love the switch and it lit the gamer spark in me again. I said all that to say I missed out on the ps3 ps4 and Xbox 360 and one eras of gaming. Just before Christmas I won a Xbox series s! For many of you it’s not much of an upgrade maybe, but for me huge. Game pass is amazing. I’m playing forza, Jedi fallen order, ori. My son and I can play Minecraft dungeons together. Games look great. So much fun. I’ll get a ps5 eventually, but to be honest I’m not in a hurry now. And I’m bouncing back and forth from switch and Xbox and wow those load times.
Same boat! Had them all, then college! Missed everything from Wii/PS3 forward. Bought my son (a little over 4) a switch during lockdown and it reignited my love for games. I'm now debating on getting something from Sony or Microsoft and am having trouble deciding; Game pass seems awesome but there are so many good Sony exclusives!
I bought the PS5 and the Series S this season. My son and I spent the vast majority of the weekend playing the Series S. It's a great system when combined with the game pass. I also particularly like the Xbox app. I'm sure the PS5 will become better over time, but Microsoft seems to be in a pretty strong position currently.
@@MedalionDS9 They've really backed themselves into a corner with how they're naming these as well. They could have called them S2 and X2 and continue from there but they didn't.
@@SteelSkin667 Same reason the didn't name Xbox 360 "Xbox 2" they didn't want people to believe it was inferior or last gen compared to PS3. But still it is confusing naming which is why they immediately discontinued the One X.
@@PuesJorge7 I think that's to be expected. I actually picked up a Series S and a Series X. Series X in the living room and Series S in my game room so I can play my digital and gamepass games. Very impressed so far and I love the form factor.
Spectacular combined with my year and a half left of Gamepass at $1 per month. And the storage isn't a problem as you can still use your external hard drive and transfer games to and fro in seconds.
I just got one from best buy. Running cyberpunk alot better unfortunately it still crashed 1 time but most the bugs and freezes haven't happened since i switched over to the series s
Similar experience on the Series X, crashed one time, but never happened since. Only glitches I get are some artifacts floating that were supposed to be like on a table or something.
I’m tempted to go for the S over the X... I love how portable the little guy is and if my wife wants to watch something it would take zero effort to move it to the other room.
You can get a fire stick or a Roku player for like $20. Might be waaay simpler to do that instead of moving the console back and forth, especially since it doesn’t have a disk drive. Just a suggestion
If ultimate portability is your goal is recommend at least looking at a shield TV/Pro and sideloading the game pass app. They have geforce now which is a pretty good streaming app too and They're also great for emulation if that's your thing.
Go with the X -- it's not large or tough to move. Series S is beautiful but no reason to downgrade unless you really don't care about visual fidelity/performance

Considering that the systems biggest weakness is the small storage space, having a modular ssd does show that Microsoft has thought of plan to fix the issue in the future without replacing the entire console.
@@isturbo1984 dude the one x is a base xbox one just able to do 4k. The series s is a series x just at 1080p or 1440p. So the one x basically ran games at 30fps just like the one but can only do 60 when taken to 1440p or mostly 1080p. The one x's gpu cant give you next gen textures cuz number one it's already struggling to give you current gen textures. The series s with it's new architecture makes it way more efficient than the one x cuz remember the one x has gcn, Rdna 1 was way more efficient than it, and series s is rdna 2 which is way more efficient than rdna 1. So you cant say it's on pare with one x. Also the new architecture unlocks new ways for the gpu to render things(such as sample feedback streaming) which makes the gpu even more powerful for it doesent have to load the entire world just only what you can see, something the one x cant do. So wait till next gen games come to fully utilize the box.
And the only available on store cause no one wants them. Retro compatible series X is the reason Xbox is great. Remove the disc drive on series s.... Now what? What's the point I can't play my library of games.
I have a series x but oddly want a series s. Its the best looking console out of all the new systems. I bought one for my stepson and its a very small and nice looking console.
While I own a Series X, I would have also been happy to have a Series S, next gen upgraded games and still playing on a 1080p 60hz screen would have kept me happy regardless

But I bought a series s for my bro he’s 18 and In college. So he plays on a 1080p monitor and it works perfect for him although I still think he needs to upgrade to a 120fps monitor. But those monitors are in the high 100s or low 200s which is affordable for him
I kinda want to buy it for my nephew, he has the One S and got Cyberpunk for Christmas and he literally stopped playing after 20 mins due to how shit it runs. He let me borrow it since I have the SX and it runs pretty decently on that.
Looking at the way Cyberpunk performs on the Series S vs the One X, you can see how the Series S was designed in order to not hold the Series X back. It will be easier for the developers to simply scale down resolution rather than to have to scale down effects and the overall environment scale.
The series s gpu is about the same if not more powerful than the onex because Rnda2 tflops don't compare to Gcn tflops. The series s has a better cpu and storage the only limitation is that it has 1 gb less ram available to devs.
I got my Series S for Christmas and love it. MSFS 2020 comes out tomorrow and I’m hyped beyond belief. The only downside is the small storage capacity, with it being an all-digital console. 9/10
I love my Series S, Microsoft really hit it out of the park with a great balance of quality/cost. I do wish it would have shipped with more storage, but that’s easily upgraded.
I've got a PS5 as my main 4K console and I have one of these as my game pass machine. I love it in all honesty. Such a good build and looks so cool. It's lightning fast and feels good enough as a jump from the old Xbox systems due to it. Hated the lag in the old Xbones.
I know what you mean. I'll pick up a PS5 at a later date being mainly an Xbox Player, and since I've already got a Series X I'd rather wait until everyone who wants a next gen console sooner than later has got one before doubling up, but going from a One X to a Series X has still been a revelation, even with both targeting 4K. There's a noticeable jump in graphical quality, but it's the FEELING of playing with such low input lag, and higher frame rates that ultimately makes next gen truly come alive. Those comments Phil Spencer made earlier in the year about being sad they couldn't put the console in fans hands at E3 to let them experience it for themselves in a way a livestream couldn't demonstrate make so much sense now.
Don’t forget retroarch. You can pretty much game from 1st to 6th console generation of games in addition to next gen, current gen, and 7th gen (360 games)

As someone who's always been a PS/Nintendo guy, I think it's safe to say the Series S is gonna be my first Xbox purchase whenever I can track one down.
I’m a ps guy since the ps one, this year I got the Xbox series s instead of the ps5. Not gonna lie, i did it mostly because the ps5 is like 700 euros where I live and you also cannot materially find it on the market. But I was thrilled about finally owning my first Xbox. I got a free digital copy of fifa 22 and I bought gta 5 for like 15 bucks on the Xbox store. I must say it’s a brilliant console and I’m having so much fun with it. It loads gta in like 3 seconds and runs sooo smoothly. I can’t wait to try some proper next gen games. The controller is the best controller I’ve ever used in my life. Gg Xbox you totally amazed me. I’m still gonna get a ps5 if a slim versions gonna come out and if it will be like 300-400ish
Update to my previous posts: I did go ahead and get the Series S for my birthday last month. I love my new console. I have installed 6 games on it and still have over 200 GB storage left on it. I’m very happy with it. I also signed up for GamePass and am very happy with that too.
Got this and a WD-B 1 tb drive as a deal from a game stop for around 260$, story told to me was the original owner got it on accident and returned it in like 3 days after buying. This, the drive, and a Zelda coffee mug made the best 300$ I ever spent in one day
The amount of people talking about stuff they don't know about is SO infuriating. No, it's not going to hold back developers. Old PC's hold back developers more than the series s does and will. No, the lower graphics aren't gonna matter because guess what? Most of the people getting this are casual gamers or budget gamers. They aren't gonna care about 4K graphics. They'll be satisfied with 1080p. And no, storage isn't going to be a GIANT issue. It is definitely an issue, but so far, the storage has been fine. I just uninstall games I don't like or barley play and I'm good.
People who know nothing about game development love to comment on it. Consoles never hold "gaming" back. Game devs don't design for the most powerful hardware available and if they do it's just bad design. Scalability is essential for a smooth experience
Absolutely agree, im on a budget and this is perfect. Especially with my monitor, I enjoy the 120fps. People complain because they want to make the console look bad but it doesn't hold back developers unless its ubisoft cause God knows how they make their games

Bought mine a couple of days ago in the UK.£249/$300 I must say I'm very very impressed 🔥 Upgrading to an expansion card in time. Loving the 60fps on optimized series X/S Games . Hopefully they will get more games redy for next gen consoles .
I've got my series s on a watt meter, and I'm very impressed with its power draw. For example Nier Automata is about 54W, and the Touryst (4K 60FPS) is around 69W.

This console is really good at the price of £249.99 in the UK, super fast load times, great graphics, looks amazing on a 4K HDR TV, also plays older ganes with Xbox X/S updates amazingly, fantastic console at a great price.
I would love a disc drive on the Series S as well, specially for backwards compatibility. Microsoft could also make an external drive (via USB) or such for the persons who want to use physical media, then they can stick to 1 simple Series S design but still offer an option for discs.
I got my S yesterday also. I was tired of waiting for the series X to become available. I just had an itch to call GameStop yesterday, and they said that was only the third batch of S systems they have received since launch. And they only received 3 consoles yesterday
Welcome to the "Dark Side" or is it the light? Eh either way I have been with PlayStation since PS1 in 1996 or 1997 whenever I got mine at like 6 or 7 years old. I had some experience with the original Xbox back at a friend's house in the mid 2000's but finally got a Xbox 360 back in 2018 which was my first Xbox of any kind. Since then I have switched over almost completely to Xbox as in getting the original Xbox as well as three Xbox 360s (Fat Jasper, as well as S and E model) and a Xbox One X. As of a few days ago I found a Series S at Walmart and grabbed it just for Flight Simulator which is not playable on my Xbox One X. Still no disc drive will mean my Series S is a side console used in another room then my One X. Eventually getting a Series X and PS5 as I never will completely abandon PlayStation. For me it's like Sony changed for the worst when they moved the headquarters from Japan to California a few years ago and then started the censoring games crap. For me as of now Xbox One X is my main console with Switch on the side. My PS4 is not getting much use these days though I have a PS4 backlog and still buy games for it like the new Akiba's Trip the other day. It's just that I have so many games across multiple systems these days is why I don't use playstation much right now. Definitely going to be getting back to PS2 gaming soon though when I get what's called an mClassic HDMI converter or whatever it is.

The Xbox Series S is easily available since launch here in Switzerland. It's also possible to find a Series X from Gamestop as an example. The PS5 is hard to get but that's nothing new.
Regional demand I guess. Xbox isn’t popular in EU, but in the states both sell out in seconds, but then again, what doesn’t sell out here? Lol. We love having our products.

Xbox mainly popular in the west, in US & Canada it’s likely sold out everywhere, same w China (yes, its a surprise for me too lmao, but last I saw Xbox is leading the units sold for China, maybe its changed but it was about a week or 2 before current gen launched so a little over a month or close to 2 months), however in EU, xbox does really poor & demand is close to nothing, its better than Japan but still really poor. Its 100% believable if you think about it.

The sync button is glossy so you can use the media remote for the xbox one, it is an IR receiver. Edit: The Series X is also the same with the glossy sync button.
True, but they did it to keep the price of the console down for the consumer. (For the series S at least)..If they flat out dumped everything they could into a beastly console for the consumer, it'd be a thousand dollar or more console. They for damn sure wouldn't sell as many units as a cheaper console.
Yes you can They are compatible with both series consoles. You can also use your Xbox one external hard drives but this will only store the series X/S games not play them. It will store the One Stuff fine and allow you to play them.
I agree 100%. Bought ghost of tsushima second hand for £45 got the platinum gave it to a friend who also completed it then sold it for £30 recouping 2/3 of my cash
I love this machine. I cant speak for the 4k capabilities but I wanted a machine to hook up to a mini 1080p monitor and the one s slays it on a small screen at 1080p. The price is ludicrous
I got the S over a week ago, love it. Reason I choose this over the X is it cost less and when the SLim X comes out I'll get that one and have the S easier to sell or gift it to my nephew. Win Win!
I have a Samsung 86" 4k display and I got a Series S because I don't own a single Xbox game, so digital only is just fine. I just use it for Game Pass. On my display, it is upscaled and from where I sit, about 11-12 feet back from the screen, it looks absolutely gorgeous. I really don't feel like I'm missing anything.
I only wish they went with 12gbs of ram instead of 10gb. Everything else is on point. Can't do much with storage because of cost, but you can always use an external drive as a "pack mule," or delete your games after you are done with them.

The only thing gamestop gets out of me buying a console from them is a peice of any digital content sales I buy on the console. Not because they have access to my account, but because the product sku is in there system, therefore anything I buy using Xbox live, they get a part of. How would they even have access to my account. I did not give them access. It makes no sense that gamestop would gain access just from me buying a console from them.

12:52 Again we have a regular M.2 slot for the internal SSD. Someday people will figure out how to format these correctly and it will be pretty simple to upgrade Series S to an internal 2TB configuration.

If nobody in the comments has mentioned it, the sync button also acts as the IR receiver for the media remote controls, which is why it’s not a matte finish.

I’ve had my S since Nov, first time back to Xbox since 360. I’m loving this thing, perfect for the TV I have as it’s not 4K. I have a 3TB external HD hooked up to it for the games I will play, and the games I’m playing on the internal SSD. I’m new to GamePAss as well and its an amazing service. So overall a PS guy that is now mainly playing his S, I give it a 9/10. I’m very happy with this thing.

Not to rub it in but the op hasn't missed out and actually made the smart choice. They can now enjoy the last gen games like they are new games aswell as current gen games which by the time they get around to them will be much cheaper. It's never been a better time to get an xbox and with gamepass a lot of us probably won't even need to buy any games.
Haven't had an xbox since the 360, the series S has blown me away. I couldn't recommend this system more. Especially with all the scalping going on with the series X and PS5. Picked up Two of the series S on Amazon for a very good price. My wife was so impressed with the series S she had to have one too.
I feel like the Series S was an incredibly smart move on Microsoft's part. Not only does it give people a more affordable option, but the lower price also should get Sony and Nintendo leaning gamers to dip in more easily as a second or third console. I've personally never owned an Xbox system, but I've never been more interested... Assuming they can deliver the games in the next year or two.

I love my Series S. Got it on launch day since I couldn't get an X and couldn't be happier. I've already taken it on a couple of trips so definitely good for traveling.

I used to have all the consoles growing up all the way to the GameCube. Then I went to college and I was distracted by women, beer, and trying to get good grades. I sold all my games and systems. Regret it hard now. Later I bought a Wii well after launch and mostly played Galaxy on it and Mario kart with the wife. Fast forward to 2018 and I’m convincing my son that he might want a Nintendo switch for Christmas. I love the switch and it lit the gamer spark in me again. I said all that to say I missed out on the ps3 ps4 and Xbox 360 and one eras of gaming. Just before Christmas I won a Xbox series s! For many of you it’s not much of an upgrade maybe, but for me huge. Game pass is amazing. I’m playing forza, Jedi fallen order, ori. My son and I can play Minecraft dungeons together. Games look great. So much fun. I’ll get a ps5 eventually, but to be honest I’m not in a hurry now. And I’m bouncing back and forth from switch and Xbox and wow those load times.

I'm now debating on getting something from Sony or Microsoft and am having trouble deciding; Game pass seems awesome but there are so many good Sony exclusives!
I bought the PS5 and the Series S this season. My son and I spent the vast majority of the weekend playing the Series S. It's a great system when combined with the game pass. I also particularly like the Xbox app. I'm sure the PS5 will become better over time, but Microsoft seems to be in a pretty strong position currently.

@@PuesJorge7 I think that's to be expected. I actually picked up a Series S and a Series X. Series X in the living room and Series S in my game room so I can play my digital and gamepass games. Very impressed so far and I love the form factor.
Spectacular combined with my year and a half left of Gamepass at $1 per month. And the storage isn't a problem as you can still use your external hard drive and transfer games to and fro in seconds.
I just got one from best buy. Running cyberpunk alot better unfortunately it still crashed 1 time but most the bugs and freezes haven't happened since i switched over to the series s
Similar experience on the Series X, crashed one time, but never happened since. Only glitches I get are some artifacts floating that were supposed to be like on a table or something.
Fortunately these are software issues that can and will be patched by CDPR. Enjoy the hardware.

I’m tempted to go for the S over the X... I love how portable the little guy is and if my wife wants to watch something it would take zero effort to move it to the other room.
You can get a fire stick or a Roku player for like $20. Might be waaay simpler to do that instead of moving the console back and forth, especially since it doesn’t have a disk drive. Just a suggestion
Well, my advice would be to get a Series X, and then use Xcloud to remote stream games to your phone
If ultimate portability is your goal is recommend at least looking at a shield TV/Pro and sideloading the game pass app. They have geforce now which is a pretty good streaming app too and They're also great for emulation if that's your thing.
Go with the X -- it's not large or tough to move. Series S is beautiful but no reason to downgrade unless you really don't care about visual fidelity/performance

Considering that the systems biggest weakness is the small storage space, having a modular ssd does show that Microsoft has thought of plan to fix the issue in the future without replacing the entire console.

@@isturbo1984 dude the one x is a base xbox one just able to do 4k. The series s is a series x just at 1080p or 1440p. So the one x basically ran games at 30fps just like the one but can only do 60 when taken to 1440p or mostly 1080p. The one x's gpu cant give you next gen textures cuz number one it's already struggling to give you current gen textures. The series s with it's new architecture makes it way more efficient than the one x cuz remember the one x has gcn, Rdna 1 was way more efficient than it, and series s is rdna 2 which is way more efficient than rdna 1. So you cant say it's on pare with one x. Also the new architecture unlocks new ways for the gpu to render things(such as sample feedback streaming) which makes the gpu even more powerful for it doesent have to load the entire world just only what you can see, something the one x cant do. So wait till next gen games come to fully utilize the box.

Looking at the way Cyberpunk performs on the Series S vs the One X, you can see how the Series S was designed in order to not hold the Series X back. It will be easier for the developers to simply scale down resolution rather than to have to scale down effects and the overall environment scale.
The series s gpu is about the same if not more powerful than the onex because Rnda2 tflops don't compare to Gcn tflops. The series s has a better cpu and storage the only limitation is that it has 1 gb less ram available to devs.

I got my Series S for Christmas and love it. MSFS 2020 comes out tomorrow and I’m hyped beyond belief. The only downside is the small storage capacity, with it being an all-digital console. 9/10

I've got a PS5 as my main 4K console and I have one of these as my game pass machine. I love it in all honesty. Such a good build and looks so cool. It's lightning fast and feels good enough as a jump from the old Xbox systems due to it. Hated the lag in the old Xbones.
I know what you mean. I'll pick up a PS5 at a later date being mainly an Xbox Player, and since I've already got a Series X I'd rather wait until everyone who wants a next gen console sooner than later has got one before doubling up, but going from a One X to a Series X has still been a revelation, even with both targeting 4K. There's a noticeable jump in graphical quality, but it's the FEELING of playing with such low input lag, and higher frame rates that ultimately makes next gen truly come alive.
Those comments Phil Spencer made earlier in the year about being sad they couldn't put the console in fans hands at E3 to let them experience it for themselves in a way a livestream couldn't demonstrate make so much sense now.

Not gonna lie, i did it mostly because the ps5 is like 700 euros where I live and you also cannot materially find it on the market. But I was thrilled about finally owning my first Xbox. I got a free digital copy of fifa 22 and I bought gta 5 for like 15 bucks on the Xbox store. I must say it’s a brilliant console and I’m having so much fun with it. It loads gta in like 3 seconds and runs sooo smoothly. I can’t wait to try some proper next gen games. The controller is the best controller I’ve ever used in my life. Gg Xbox you totally amazed me. I’m still gonna get a ps5 if a slim versions gonna come out and if it will be like 300-400ish

Update to my previous posts: I did go ahead and get the Series S for my birthday last month. I love my new console. I have installed 6 games on it and still have over 200 GB storage left on it. I’m very happy with it. I also signed up for GamePass and am very happy with that too.
Got this and a WD-B 1 tb drive as a deal from a game stop for around 260$, story told to me was the original owner got it on accident and returned it in like 3 days after buying. This, the drive, and a Zelda coffee mug made the best 300$ I ever spent in one day

The amount of people talking about stuff they don't know about is SO infuriating. No, it's not going to hold back developers. Old PC's hold back developers more than the series s does and will. No, the lower graphics aren't gonna matter because guess what? Most of the people getting this are casual gamers or budget gamers. They aren't gonna care about 4K graphics. They'll be satisfied with 1080p. And no, storage isn't going to be a GIANT issue. It is definitely an issue, but so far, the storage has been fine. I just uninstall games I don't like or barley play and I'm good.
People who know nothing about game development love to comment on it. Consoles never hold "gaming" back. Game devs don't design for the most powerful hardware available and if they do it's just bad design. Scalability is essential for a smooth experience

I've got my series s on a watt meter, and I'm very impressed with its power draw. For example Nier Automata is about 54W, and the Touryst (4K 60FPS) is around 69W.

This console is really good at the price of £249.99 in the UK, super fast load times, great graphics, looks amazing on a 4K HDR TV, also plays older ganes with Xbox X/S updates amazingly, fantastic console at a great price.

I got my S yesterday also. I was tired of waiting for the series X to become available. I just had an itch to call GameStop yesterday, and they said that was only the third batch of S systems they have received since launch. And they only received 3 consoles yesterday
Welcome to the "Dark Side" or is it the light? Eh either way I have been with PlayStation since PS1 in 1996 or 1997 whenever I got mine at like 6 or 7 years old. I had some experience with the original Xbox back at a friend's house in the mid 2000's but finally got a Xbox 360 back in 2018 which was my first Xbox of any kind. Since then I have switched over almost completely to Xbox as in getting the original Xbox as well as three Xbox 360s (Fat Jasper, as well as S and E model) and a Xbox One X. As of a few days ago I found a Series S at Walmart and grabbed it just for Flight Simulator which is not playable on my Xbox One X. Still no disc drive will mean my Series S is a side console used in another room then my One X. Eventually getting a Series X and PS5 as I never will completely abandon PlayStation. For me it's like Sony changed for the worst when they moved the headquarters from Japan to California a few years ago and then started the censoring games crap. For me as of now Xbox One X is my main console with Switch on the side. My PS4 is not getting much use these days though I have a PS4 backlog and still buy games for it like the new Akiba's Trip the other day. It's just that I have so many games across multiple systems these days is why I don't use playstation much right now. Definitely going to be getting back to PS2 gaming soon though when I get what's called an mClassic HDMI converter or whatever it is.

The Xbox Series S is easily available since launch here in Switzerland. It's also possible to find a Series X from Gamestop as an example. The PS5 is hard to get but that's nothing new.

Xbox mainly popular in the west, in US & Canada it’s likely sold out everywhere, same w China (yes, its a surprise for me too lmao, but last I saw Xbox is leading the units sold for China, maybe its changed but it was about a week or 2 before current gen launched so a little over a month or close to 2 months), however in EU, xbox does really poor & demand is close to nothing, its better than Japan but still really poor. I got one for my younger brother at launch and almost got one for myself after I listened to how quiet it ran and how slick and compact the console looked. Love my PS5, but the Series S is a beautiful console.
The sync button is glossy so you can use the media remote for the xbox one, it is an IR receiver.
Edit: The Series X is also the same with the glossy sync button.

True, but they did it to keep the price of the console down for the consumer. (For the series S at least)..If they flat out dumped everything they could into a beastly console for the consumer, it'd be a thousand dollar or more console. They for damn sure wouldn't sell as many units as a cheaper console.

Yes you can They are compatible with both series consoles. You can also use your Xbox one external hard drives but this will only store the series X/S games not play them. It will store the One Stuff fine and allow you to play them.

I agree 100%. Bought ghost of tsushima second hand for £45 got the platinum gave it to a friend who also completed it then sold it for £30 recouping 2/3 of my cash

I love this machine. I cant speak for the 4k capabilities but I wanted a machine to hook up to a mini 1080p monitor and the one s slays it on a small screen at 1080p. The price is ludicrous

I got the S over a week ago, love it. Reason I choose this over the X is it cost less and when the SLim X comes out I'll get that one and have the S easier to sell or gift it to my nephew. Win Win!
I decided to buy one yesterday as a game pass machine. I’m absolutely blown away by this little thing, one of my best purchases ever!
I have a Samsung 86" 4k display and I got a Series S because I don't own a single Xbox game, so digital only is just fine. I just use it for Game Pass. On my display, it is upscaled and from where I sit, about 11-12 feet back from the screen, it looks absolutely gorgeous. I really don't feel like I'm missing anything.
I only wish they went with 12gbs of ram instead of 10gb. Everything else is on point. Can't do much with storage because of cost, but you can always use an external drive as a "pack mule," or delete your games after you are done with them.
Cant wait to get one of these.
I was able to get a Series S from gamestop. The Series S compliments my Series X well.
@@isturbo1984 Gamestop does not have access to my Microsoft account. You have no evidence of this. The only thing gamestop gets out of me buying a console from them is a peice of any digital content sales I buy on the console. Not because they have access to my account, but because the product sku is in there system, therefore anything I buy using Xbox live, they get a part of. How would they even have access to my account. I did not give them access. It makes no sense that gamestop would gain access just from me buying a console from them.

I jumped from original xbox one to the series s had it for 3 weeks love so glad I got one
12:52 Again we have a regular M.2 slot for the internal SSD.
Someday people will figure out how to format these correctly and it will be pretty simple to upgrade Series S to an internal 2TB configuration.
