Doc Samson is the greatest super powered supporting character. He is not really a hero in his own right, but is fantastic as a sporting player in the Hulk's story.

One of my favorite moments involving Doc Samson happened just after the Green Hulk returned during the Peter David run after years of only seeing Gray Hulk. Samson and the Hulkbusters tracked Banner to this small Ohio town where Banner has just found Betty Ross, and they're trying to get him before nightfall. Samson notices that the sun is setting, but a soldier said that the Green Hulk has been seen so all they have to do is keep Banner from getting angry. Meanwhile, Gray Hulk is starting to manifest, and Samson suddenly realizes that there's no reason both Gray and Green can't coexist. Right as he's putting this together, we hear Gray Hulk, "HEY SIGMUND FREUD! PRESCRIBE THIS, YA QUACK!!" And Gray Hulk throws a truck at Samson. Perfect.
Samson isn't all that effective sometimes, is he? 😂😂
Doc Samson is an awesome example of a interesting but wacky idea taking form to something great.
Imagine if Thor met him and said: “Know this, Son of Sam.”

I loved all the "...because THAT's how THAT works". Some of these things were just too silly even by "guy gets powers from gamma bomb instead of just getting cancer" standards.
I had seen this character appear in some cartoon but I don't thing this cartoon explained anything about him, so this was informative. I just basically knew there was a green-haired man named Doc Samson that had something to do with The Hulk.

Doc Sam, what a great friend. Great adaptation of him in Hulk TAS and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
I've never read any Hulk comics other than the original one with his origin, but I had seen this character before. I knew it was some cartoon but wasn't sure which. I've seen both of those cartoons so that must be where I knew him from. If the cartoons explained his backstory or his powers I had forgotten it so I learned a lot from this video.
"Because that's how that works"....you gotta love comic logic, especially in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It was so hilariously inaccurate.
Some of this comic book logic I can ignore and just enjoy the story, but some of the stuff presented here was just TOO stupid. I can go along with the central premise that Gamma radiation give people super powers instead of just cancer, but a mineral bath separating Banner and Hulk into separate bodies or a shrunken Hulk punching a mental illness away is too silly. (I can go along and pretend with the shrunken Hulk part, but the punching the mental illness part is too far.)

I can suspend disbelief for getting powers from gamma radiation or characters shrinking, but stuff like a mineral bath splitting Banner and Hulk into separate bodies seems too silly to me for some reason.

You don't have to say"that's how that works"every time something happens that is absurd. Believe or not us comics readers didn't have to have realistic science to add fun to a story or reality in general. We read it for escapism and fantasy and make believe. All of its absurd from a man gaining powers from a spider bite,to bone wrapped in metal that's unbreakable etc etc. We still used our imagination not questioning the logical aspects of things. Most RUclipsrs have lost that IMO

Doc Samson has to appear in the MCU perhaps with a slightly altered orgin alongside that of Captain Marvel and the Hulk, and the super soldier serum, it appears that Samson might actually be older than Bruce Banner like 5 or 10 years older so if true his origins would have some mystery around his past not to different from this one but his family origins is the key, what was the name of the scientist behind the super soldier serum and has he got a connection to Doc Samsons family name?
If true it is interesting that government agencies were involved to hirer Doc Samson?
Doc Samson Agent of Shield the most likely thing is his appearance though those stories his hair is always green? I do remember a story where his hair start to fall out due to another form of radiation think it was alien in origin his strength was reduced and somehow he started to lose confidence in himself. It was Bruce who saved him after he found out Doc Samson hair lose wasn't permanent, but that radiation was a major problem it would keep Samson out of the hero business for months, until he discovered that the radiation was a alien lifeform which drains the entire gamma radiation into self and becomes a mutation of the person it invaded. Doc Samson asks the Silver Sufer for help he cures Samson but that mutation does return but not in him? It later is revealed that there was a sinister plot to infect the intire gamma infected with this radiation, and it was Mr Sinister behind this plot and why well his always been behind nearly ever mystery and possibly even origins of Doc Samson and Bruce Banners acr stories with help from Apocalypse. Man made mutation the x trigger with a little help from radiations both man made or alien in origin the super soldier serum and other reasons relating to mutations?
Other commenters were saying he was already in the Edward Norton movie, which is part of the MCU. I saw this movie but don't remember it well enough to say if this is true.

Ant-Man shrinking down small enough to alter Bruce Banner's DNA to cure his ALS is the most scientific thing in this whole story.
I've always been a fan of this character. I like the thought of the tank who is also very intelligent, kind of like Wonder Man or sasquatch.
So Bruce Banner was cured of being the Hulk, something that has repeatedly been stated to be his life's mission that he will go to any length to accomplish and which is always just out of his reach... and he turned himself back out of sheer jelousy over a girl?!
This seems like the kind of thing that if Bruce is asked about, he'll deny it and we'll be left wondering if it's a retcon or just Bruce being embarressed that he was ever so petty.

The entire “ Home Base “ storyline and Bruce Jones’ Incredible Hulk run was retconned out of existence by Peter David’s “tempest Fugit” storyline when he returned to the title.
We did seeing Doc Samson in The Incredible Hulk movie. But it's too bad we didn't see him in any MCU movies and series.
With Liv Tyler returning as Betty Ross in Captain America 4, it is very likely that Doc Samson will return as well.

Peacemaker was actually decent and represented his Charleston roots well. You are arguing from a Cena Fandom rather than a comics one...brilliant update for the White Dragon...Cena did the role brilliantly, the writing was sloppy...just like Ledger & the Joker. And don't waste your breath defending Nolan or Gunn, overall both ate bad writers, but Gunn at least is a good director.

Does anybody not see how great the marvel universe used to be before the social justice movement and left-wing Democrat WAC job writers and lesbians and transgender writers took over marvel and destroyed the absolute marvel universe completely I always liked DC better but marvel has a great history and their presently destroying the DC universe though they've started to correct it with night terrors but I haven't read a marvel comic in 7 years because of this I'll probably never read them again because of that left-wing s*** that just bleeds into everything they do

Agree. And the ones with the "simpler" colors look better than the overly complicated modern coloring. Sometimes less is more.
