- If you're looking for kickdown, this video is NOT for you. If however you can appreciate things like, gearbox, turbo, axle and engine sounds, then this one is a good'n!
This is AX502, an MKII Volvo B7TL with the brilliant 6 Speed ZF Ecomat gearbox, wrapped up in a Dublin Bus spec ALX 400 (Built in Northern Ireland). This is my favourite out of the AX class because it makes great sounds, a lot that you can hear from the AV class funnily enough, but she also goes really well too, and likes to rev much higher than the other AX's when changing up into that tall 6th gear!
The driver on this trip was just how I like it, foot to the floor all the time :P
Enjoy!

Lovely, clean sounding 6 speeder!
Absolutely gorgeous sound. 😍 Never heard such a beautiful b7tl
Thanks for doing this I'm stuck at home trying to break Omsi 2
She galloped up that Snugborro Rd like it was going down hill, and that road is uphill all the way, great video.
I was on AV56 and AV222 yesterday (Monday) as they’re now 16973 and 16976 with Stagecoach Bluebird. AV56 is really slow, the gearbox slips and the fan roars, however AV222 sounds gorgeous and absolutely flies! I had it for an hour, about 30 mins of that was on 60mph country roads.
A really nice AX that! there was some AX's that made amazing sounds, such as AX474, 518, 520 ect.. search up 474 and 520 as they are both on RUclips but as for 518 it likes to rev high out of 1st gear like an AV 😁
Brilliant Footage, She's some beauty of a bus, has a brilliant turbo on it
With Go-Ahead Ireland now
This route will be missed, it’s being scrapped at the end of May
17A ?
Indeed! The good ol’ days when DB ran it :’)
Any idea if you know if all 06 AX are 250hp or 215hp? Ta
They’re 250 as far as I know 😊
@@ThePlymouthRoadSurfer ah thats good then, I seen somewhere that they are 215 but some of the older AV and AX class seem more powerful than 215
Yeah the 2000 reg AV’s were 215, and the 2001-2005 AV’s are 250, and all the AX’s are 250 I think
Great vidéo 👍 +661
Volvo and scania are the best but the b7 is flawless
