This was 4 to 6 feet of storm surge flooding. Every home I saw had flood damage as you can see. I live on Bayshore Blvd at 12 feet of sea level and the water was at my driveway. I just hope everyone had flood insurance. I am really proud of how the community pulled together to help out!!!
Perils of livivg in paradise...costly and the hurricanes don't care but people stay and rebuild untill another hurricane comes through and destroys the coast again been going on for many years some folks get tired of rebuilding some don't praying for them ...I live in Zephyrhills and Im ready to move out of the state all together seen enough destruction over the past 8 yrs time to get out of this state and just visit or vacation time to move ...
Ridiculous. You see a single house destroyed? No. So they get to buy new furniture and 'stuff', hardly the destruction further north, give me a break
see a LOT of furniture and crap piled outside houses. Looks pretty destroyed to me.....
@@billsfan2000 flood insurance, dude, see any damaged houses? Chance to get all new stuff. You have no clue what 'damage' means.
@@martyconroy3786 I belive this may be Shore Acres, not Dunedin. If so, these homes had between 3 and 5 feet of water inside, so yeah, they are in really bad shape. Some have lost their evrything to fires as welkl because of the electric and flooding. If you lose everything like they have in the blink of an eye, then yeah they have a right to say that their home has been destroyed.
@@ronipidcock959 fires? Do you see burned houses? I'm telling you, it's about insurance replacing stuff, so, temporary inconvenience, but these houses are not destroyed.
Thank you for documenting this. I'm a snowbird and Dunedin is my winter home. Very sad.
You're very welcome
Only the owner can assess their furniture. And, no, insurance won’t cover all the cost of replacement. If things like couches, living room chairs, mattresses get wet they will mold before they dry out, especially in Florida heat and humidity, then they become a health hazard. In the heat of Florida things can grow Black Mold which is dangerous to humans. Black Mold can get into your lungs and cause a disease that acts similar to lung cancer. And Black Mold grows unbelievably fast. It looks like trash removal is going to become a priority.
Think about what you just said. Black mold can become lung cancer.
Mold = cancer
Fungus = cancer
Beautiful old homes are so strong!
I love the somber music. It's reminiscent of the films about the Concentration Camps in Nazi Germany.
Er, that's morbid. 😶🌫️.......🕳
Well that escalated quickly 😳
I live in Duneden, Florida and what i saw from hurricane Helene was not much stonger than a great Oklahoma thunderstorm!!! This town is far from distroyed!! So, take your film and crew and go somewhere there is real devistation!!! Sorry folks, dont like untruthfull people!!!
Yeah, you better prepare for the real one. It’s a coming., I read the writing on the wall. I left five years ago.
I see a LOT of furniture and crap piled outside houses. Looks pretty destroyed to me.....
Hey USA Travels if you get to Sand Key and all those condos down there it would be great......wondering how all those tall structures fared....especially the gulf side pools and lobby amenities.....
@@billsfan2000they still have roofs and walls, it's fixable!
Yes! Go to Horseshoe Beach for some real catastrophic destruction. Oh my god, there was nothing but splinters left of that place.
I honest can’t believe the furniture that was thrown away after Helene came through. I’m sure a lot of the stuff shown in this video can be salvaged and dried up and also repainted if needed and if the people didn’t want them and using the Hurricane as a reason to get rid of it all, why not just sell your furniture before the hurricane came if you people were tired of the furniture? Definitely a lot more destruction in other areas of Florida and yes, storm surges and flooding in Dunedin but this shows it couldn’t have been that bad there. God bless all of Florida and I do pray that those affected can and will be able to rebuild or able to repair or buy more of what they need to out back into thief homes again. These are unfortunately the prices we all have to pay to live in such a beautiful State with paradise views. Sue M. Clearwater, Florida 🙏🙏❤️🤞🏼❌⭕️
Boo hoo NC got it much worse. And the big bend. Rich people don’t impress me anymore
Satwater damage along with any contaminents from the flooding damage everything it touches. Once the mold starts growin, there is no way to get rid of it. Mold starts growing in 24-48 hours and some people were evacuated and did not get back into the affected areas until they were safe. It's very sad.
If people want to show Hurricanes destroyed areas then they need to go to the areas where there are absolutely no more homes and the sand at the beaches are washed way up into the streets too. This video wasn’t showing any destruction at all and only very nice looking furniture out on their front lawns. God bless those who were really stricken by this Hurricane Helene.🙏❤️

You're right there was much more Devastation in other parts Florida and other states.
I still appreciate the video anyways.
Glad they passed the new disclosure law. Finally!
@ the 15:15 mark on the one street along the intercoastal there's two large white/blue houses that are set up very high. I noticed there was little to no water damage items set out by the curb.
Three blocks is nothing compared to the devistation in other areas.
All this coast communities are beautiful, close to the sea, water front, But unfortunately that will happen more and more often, it is painful, really.
Cant see high water marks anywhere🤔🤔🤔🤔
Бедные люди сколько же им предстоит заново восстанавливать
😥
I cant believe that ALL of that furniture needs to be thrown out! There are ways to save some of it.
Yes maybe some of it. There's treasure in those piles I'm sure. Hopefully some of it will be salvaged.
Looks like alot of salvageable items, hope they arent counting on insurance, not hearing good stories
Yeah I'm thinking that some of that furniture can be salvageable. There's treasure in those piles. I hope someone takes advantage of salvaging those items.
@@di4085 It’s all covered in flood water with raw sewage, oil and various hazardous chemicals. No, it’s not salvageable.
That computer setup at 20:50 needed to go anyway…
🙂
The storm was far out in the Gulf of Mexico so not much damage to central Florida.
🇺🇸🙏❤️🇺🇸🙏❤️🇺🇸🙏❤️
Yes pray for America! 🇺🇸
Which city is in the video? San Pete of FL?
Dunedin. It’s just north of Clearwater
Just North of Hurricane pass
Looks like nothing compared to Lake City
Rich people - time to remodel...
Oh hardly totaled! Only about a three block area closest to the Laguna. 80% of Dunedin is perfectly fine. And oh how my heart bleeds seeing those 3 million dollar homes with Trump signs in front of them having to put their $5,000 Siemens front load washer and dryers and 10,000 dollar custom leather sofas on the street . #worldstinieestviolin
😂😂😂 so true.
When will Floridians learn? Build 10 miles inland. I left after Ian and condo renovations still ongoing 2 years later
@@karengerace7506 don’t need to build away from the water, just need to build up above the potential storm surge. Like several of these are. There’s a reason all new construction in Monroe county has to be on stilts now. But it’s still a crap shoot either way.
There you are, knew there was a troll lurking about somewhere…
Jealous a little?😂😂😂
Florida the New California as far as living costs! I’m glad I left 5 yrs ago!
I am from West Virginia. I lived in Dunedin. The cost are actually cheaper in Florida for many things and I was on Baywood drive. Rent isn't much cheaper considering WV has no beaches and only mountains. 900-1,000+ a month in WV for rent and I paid 1300 a month in Dunedin. Food was less in Dunedin, shopping cost less and tax difference made Florida cheaper.
shoes NOISY af
This is stupid.
