These look great! I always forget about using soy curls. They are such a convincing chicken replacement! And Dr Greger approved?! Yess! I have to get some now. Perfect whole food pantry essential :)
Right!!?? I was so excited to see them Dr. G approved! I had been avoiding them a bit before that. 😆😆 Yes, this snack is perfect for on the go ... I still need to play around with them a bit to make some other recipes too. 😄 You’re right... perfect whole food pantry essential! 🙌🏼
I have just started experimenting as well! I was excited to see that they are Dr. Greger ok’d! I had been avoiding them before. 😄 Will have to play around with them some more now that I have a few bags. And you’re most welcome the recipe! 💕🌱
Omg these look amazing! They will be super yummy to use as a shawarma wrap with some veggies, hummus, tahini and baked potatoes on the side! First thought I had when I saw these is shawarma haha And also thanks for the vegetable broth instead of oil idea! In my latest WFBP-friendly Mujaddara video I used vegetable broth to caramelise/sauté the onions and they tasted really good and quite close to the onions sautéed with oil!
Omg shawarma! Yes! Great idea. These soy curls are so versatile. I haven’t played around with them enough! 😄 Love that you tried the veggie broth sauté instead of oil! Can’t wait to check it out. 🤩🤩
I have seen you can store them at room temperature in an air-tight container... but personally I like to store everything in the fridge. 😆😆 So with these, I just re-heat as needed.. or even snack on them cold. They are good for at least about a week in the fridge! I would guess probably about 3-4 days at room temperature... but that's just a guess! Enjoy! 😊😊
What a great idea. I have soy curls on hand but they aren’t the same brand. The brand you used seems to be better quality. Sadly, currently unavailable on Amazon. But I will keep looking. Thanks for doing this video.
Interesting! I have never seen another brand other than Butler’s! Butlers do seem to be great quality and a good company to support as well. Which country are you in? I put a link for them on Amazon in the description box ... but it is a link for 🇺🇸 US Amazon. 😬 I believe you can order them directly from butler foods as well.. but I believe it’s also only for US. Hopefully you’ll be able to get them at some point! Glad you enjoyed the recipe too. 🙏🏼😊😊
@@mamakins5123 ohhh hey neighbor! 😜 Ok, yes, TVP is different! It’s a bit more processed than these soy curls and quite a bit smaller! Not sure if you could make them into jerky really. 🤔 They are a great ground “meat” replacement though! We used to use them a lot. Soups, stews, bolognese, sloppy Joe’s, etc! Keep an eye out for Butler. They are much different! I got mine on Amazon, must have been a few months ago (and I paid quite a bit for shipping I think 😑).. but I think local stores like Good Rebel have them also! Not sure if that’s close to you! 😅
@@LetsEatPlants Exactly. I’m going to look for curls. I read the ingredient list in the one I have and it contains flour. It’s nice to watch Canadian content, as I can relate to the products used. Have you seen Butler in stores or just through Amazon?
@@mamakins5123 ❤️🤍 Good point! Yes, I know Good Rebel (Toronto) carries them! I feel like I’ve seen them at other stores... but I can’t remember for sure. (Whole Foods & healthy planet ring a bell... but not 100% sure!) The Toronto Vegans FB group might have some more ideas too. 😊

Didn’t know this was a thing until I recently bought a $6 tiny bag at the store and it’s delicious. Thanks for the recipe!

Thank you, David! Hope you are keeping safe as well. 😊😊

They look good I was wondering how to store them and how long they are good for

They look delicious! Should the oven be preheated to 250 degrees F or C?
F! We want a low & slow cook 😋
