  • So way back in video #149 I mentioned that I’d bought a third-party #BandsawFenceUpgrade for my #TitanBandsaw… and here we are, a little over a year later, it’s probably about time I fitted it. Ah, what the heck, let’s splash out on a new #BandsawBlade too, while we’re at it. Enjoy!

Probably old news now but there is a very easy fix for the Titan fence.

I have bought the same bandsaw. It is great value for money. I used it to cut a 70 mm deep birch piece and it coped. I had to introduce another washer on one or two balbearings supports due to the fact that the ball bearings were not allingned on the blade.

Ooh, ooh, metalwork and machine modification, now you're talking 😄. Enjoyed the video, thanks Peter. I worry that the birch ply will crush up further over time loosening the fence, but I guess it is just a matter of re-tightening the screws. Interesting bit with the tension release, must be a fault in assembly that it doesn't work the way it should.

Hi Peter, that's the same fence that's on my Axminster band saw I've had for 12 years, just bought some blades from tuff Saws an what a good service especially when I messed up my length, sorted me out free of charge. I had to make a new lever for my fence from aluminium as the plastic one broke early on but beside that it's worked fine. Keep up the good work.

Great to see you got the fence on Peter! Also a more refined approach compared to my push fit approach with the strips of ply! Mine is still running great after all this time altho I use it less than I’d imagined I would. Cheers for another great video!

I had a Clarke CBS190 bandsaw for years, spent many, many hours 'tuning' it all to no avail, absolutely useless, blade drift was appalling enough to put anyone off bandsaws for life, that said when these Titan ones came back in stock at Screwfix, I thought I'd give it another go, The difference between the Titan and the Clarke is nothing short of astonishing it actually works and works well, got the Axminster fence but not fitted it yet, Mr Millard you're costing me a fortune ;)

I now know where to go for my bandsaw blades. Not that I use a bandsaw that much. Great video.

When I did my apprenticeship the band saw was the only saw we were allowed to use and we were always breaking the blades and getting moaned. I have just installed a new dust extract system it's called wife and broom.

Lolol "id cut these fecking screws back " lolol brilliant nice review mate I did get one but no matter what I did or my machinists mate did we just could get it to cut true. So it went back. Think it was dropped as the top door never closed on square.

Offcuts, birch ply, send them over here to New Zealand. We don't get that here as far as I know.
