Grabbed mine today, blue dial. Teddy, you’re forgetting to tell everyone that the blue dial throws a dark purple hue that’s just bitching in low dining lights! It’s more appealing to the eye than you realize when you put your hands on it👍 Hell ya….Love it!
I love that this does NOT have the dial ruined by a Date Widow. If the bracelet and case were 100% brushed, instead of a mix of polished and brushed, this would be perfect.
With you on the date window, Tommy. There are so few options for us date-haters! Would also prefer one finish (all brushed or all polished) on the bracelet.
@@SJCB27 While I'm personally not a date hater, I can empathise. If you're after a high end dive watch without a date it's literally pretty much only this or the Submariner. The way the seconds hand shines against the inner bezel of the watch as it sweeps and creates a shining crescent shaped beam of light is absolutely beautiful. Never seen anything like it.
That watch is on my list and has moved to the top number one spot. It’s just a beautiful piece. Excellent video and thank you for not getting involved in all that stupidity lately.
Thanks for the excellent review. I like the direction Omega has taken with this new version, more timeless styling, less busy, more in line with the spirit of the classic Seamaster.
This Seamaster 300 line is my favorite in the Omega line-up. I just love their modern watches with vintage inspiration. I have the 2014 version of this. Which I like because the dial is a little smaller and it has the ceramic bezel. But I would really like to get my hands on the bronze-gold version of this watch.
Are you trying to do the william shatner thing where you take a dramatic pause between words? If so, I like it. And I agree, that second hand is very strange.
Great review, as ever. It's gorgeous, but I marginally prefer the older version in titanium, not just because that's the one I have but because of the second hand (I don't like the lolipop) and the ceramic bezel. As far as the METAS certification is concerned, my "master co-axial" keeps extraordinarily good time (to within a second a day).
At first, I didn't like the He escape valve on the Diver 300M, but it's really grown on me, and I feel like it really give the watch a unique character I really like now. Not super into the arrow hour hand the SM300 has, although it's not terrible either.
I been very close to get one Seamaster , never finish to convince me. Finally they got something with a classic look and those new fang markers and vintage style mix well, nail it.
Thanks for the review Teddy. I think Omega has great quality. This watch is one of my favorite Omega watches mainly for the aesthetics and the dimensions. I own a Speedmaster Racing and a Seamaster Railmaster. The Railmaster is the only Omega I have found with a brushed case and bracelet. I would probably own the Heritage Seamaster 300 if it had brushed surfaces. Also, I can't understand why this newer model (and others) isn't shown on Omega's website as of mid Nov21.
Had the previous one in Titanium and ended up selling it. What didn’t I like: - thickness for sure. Glad to see they thinned it a bit - the old one had a white seconds hand that in my opinion stuck out like a sore thumb. This new one is much better in uniformity - bezel was super light. I hope that was a one-off issue - it was a scratch magnet. If I looked too long at it scratches would just appear - last was the clasp- it felt huge on the old one. This one looks smaller and more compact. This new one also looks to have an updated crown These changes make me certainly want to consider it as a future option. Definitely prefer this style. Price is a tad high IMO. Gray market will probably shave off the excess cost haha Great video Teddy
The improvement is solid for both the sandwich dial and the case thickness; I'm sad for the loss of the arrow being replaced by the lollipop, that created a nice family feeling with my Speedmaster. The disturbing part is removing the ceramic bezel with an aluminum one, much cheaper, in the name of being close to heritage; with an increased price, too. Still a master job!
Brilliant watch all around. Love almost everything about it and one I would certainly consider. Except, I am not a lover of polished links. I thought I was, until I swapped an OEM bracelet for one with PCL and realized I really, really don't like them. This watch is so awesome-looking and I wish they didn't have to bring the bling. IMO, it actually looks more elegant and expensive with all brushed links. Another good video, young fella.

I think I just found my next Omega.
I used to think that a 300m and an Aqua Terra is the perfect combo. Now, while I still believe that to be the combo to have, the new seamaster 300 is the perfect one watch collection to have. Today it wins me over. Tomorrow? Oh man this watch world drives me crazy😁

Omega is low key releasing some really good stuff. The new aqua terra 38mm with the small seconds and the date window in the small seconds is so good! I appreciate the size too, Omega’s sizes are generally too big for me.
Why does everyone hate the Helium escape valve? I own a white SMP300, and I love the valve. I know I will never have to use it, but it gives the watch such an iconic look.
Bunch of millenials born after the 90's. I own an SMP and I love the escapement valve. I wouldn't have bought it if it were missing. It's like buying a Rolex without the logo on it. This is Omegas way of telling people, we are not removing the helium escapement valve.
I think Omega should trim both this watch and SMP 300M a lil bit thinner to below 13mm. Rlx sub 41mm (same 300M WR) is 12.3mm meaning it is thinner 1.4 mm than those 2 Seamasters. Even some other smaller brands with agreeable ETA 2824 or 2892 can make it under 12.5mm with the same 300M WR. Thanks for the review.
Smp diver is retro and vintage reminds me of the classic dive watches like doxa from 80s so it’s very wearable in many occasions with luxury and is a future classic.
Mr. Baldassarre . thank you thank you so much for bringing this one as a video. ploprof was the only seamaster which i had loved till now. now i am falling for the seamaster series.
This watch is gorgeous! I need to go to my AD and check them out on the metal. Great video Teddy, and love the review and I definitely agree the absence of the helium escape valve is a plus!!
Cool vid, Teddy. There are some things I really love about this one (the dial, the colors, the hands) and some that make it a hard pass for me, personally (the polish and the odd sized lug width). One thing can be said for Omega: with their extensive catalog there's bound to be something everyone will like/appreciate.
It’s a good looking watch but the sand colored patina in combination with the sandwich dial makes for dull, low-contrast appearance which could complicate telling the time at a glance.
I agree, especially for the black color way. In the metal, the hands, glass, and polish inner bezel really pop, but the indices, markers, and Arabics are quite muted, let’s see if it grows on me
Excellent upload! Fun to watch, great shots of the watch and comparison to the 300m, love that you show it from a 3rd person view (as opposed to first person wrist shots,) great knowledge of the product too. I think this is a great look for Omega. I LOVE the bezel lume and the simplicity of the dial with a few actual numbers on it (my Aqua Terra is a beauty but at a glance I admit it's hard to actually tell you what time it is with only the little triangle hour marks haha.) Also love the lollypop second hand. I have been back and forth on the 300m for a while now and it just never quite hits the mark for me. I love that this is so legible and classic. I think it looks great on bracelet, NATO, and leather straps. Big win for me, hopefully I can try it on sometime soon and begin budgeting for it!
Love it. Hoping to get the previous model (or a Railmaster) before winter 🤞🏻 (really don't understand why both are dearer than the Diver 300 tho!) Cheers Mate 👍🏻👍🏻
This was the watch IMHO that didn’t need updating. It was perfect. Why get rid of the ceramic bezel? Makes no sense. I also like the white numerals rather than the whole dial being sandwiched. I’ll stick with my prior version.
I went with the planet ocean 600m. 39mm with the rubber strap. I was in the AD looking at the 300m however, the newer 300 sea master. The bezel was not at all easy to turn compared to the planet ocean. Don't take my word for it. Stop by your your local AD and try on both of them. If your honest with yourself you will see the planet works smoother. The planet 600 has a thicker case and thicker crystal than the sea master. Wearing the planet I have no complaints. Still love my Rolex's more.
The Planet Ocean is a great watch, however it's also quite big and bulky (even in 39.5mm guise, to an extent), mostly in case thickness, but also thanks to its straight bracelet (a trait shared with the Diver 300M). So i think there's quite a few Omega customers that would prefer the SM300 based purely in its thinner case profile and bracelet taper. Add in all the customers that dislike the date complication, and the even larger group that despise the HEV (ruling out both the PO600 and Diver 300M), and I think there's plenty of customers for the SM300. Personally, as someone who wants a date complication, doesn't care about the HEV and doesn't wear dive watches with dress shirts, I too would prefer the PO600 (43.5mm) over the SM300, however I'd personally either save my money and get the Diver 300M or spend a bit more for the GO SeaQ instead.
Better caliber (8912 is much better than 8800/8806) and it's more versatile watch. SMP diver is sport watch, while Seamaster 300 can be every day watch and even a dress watch.
The 1st thing I’ve noticed is the sandwich dial: it just add depth and a 3 dimension feeling to the dial. Beautiful piece ! 🤩 Still a bit chunky for me, I would prefer the 300 trilogy 1957 LE.
Just picked mine up today. It wears really well, looks sharp and for me will be my beachy travel watch where as it will function as originally designed to be a tool watch , that is sturdy and looks great doing its thing. If sand gets in and on it , so what , and who knows, maybe I will actually dive with it too. Nice review teddy but u repeated a bunch and u should slow down a tad . Too much data gets washed away. Peace ☮️ out 😎
Without doubt a great watch. Paying homage to the original and using modern materials and methods this watch rocks. I agree this watch sits in a class of its own apart from the other dial colours. I don't even think comparing this to the SM300M is comparing apples with apples. These a different watch markets serving different tastes. Like the Aquaterra the sales and hence build volumes are likely to be smaller than the SM300M so prices will be higher as well. This watch is more of a niche market I think. Would I consider a purchase? Yes definitely even though I already have a white dial SM300M (i think the tooth paste tube cap escape valve adds character and carries over from previous models) this model possibly with the black dial has been lurking on my list.
I have this watch since June ‘22 and now after six months the lume markers on the rotating bezel are coming off. Very disappointed with the durability and quality from this happening. I don’t think that’s normal in a watch of this price
Lucky to have the SM300 '14 and it does wear thicker on my 6"3/4-7" wrist yet not demonstrably larger than any other diver - to the contrary it feels stealthier. The ceramic bezel is an absolute marvel not showing any marks 7 years into daily wear. The smaller center lug is a plus for here sure but the aforementioned and the more true to original silver Arabic numerals, what appear to be longer hour markers, the larger bezel insert and the pointed second hand outweigh the millimeters from my perspective. To anyone considering either, this watch hits on so many style levels. It's subversive beauty and elegance are worth every penny yet like most things it's not for everyone.
I was a commercial diver and I bought a secondhand vintage Omega 300 and it was crap I took it in Saturation with me and I popped the face out during Decompression. I now have the Omega 300 professional a far better watch with the He release valve which is used by many commercial divers along with the sea dweller and yes, we dive them! It's a tool watch if you don't need that tool don't buy it. The 300 you are talking about is suited to air diving with a lot of depth redundancy built it in.
Yeah... I'll go with the Diver 300, myself. The ceramic dial with waves, reeses helium escape valve, iconic bracelet... it just have a more unique, identifiable look to this 300. My two cents.
Rolex, Rolex, Rolex and more Rolex. I am sick and tired of youtubers talk about nothing but Rolex. You are not a snob and talk about different brands we are also interested in. t is one of the reasons why we subscribe and like your channel.
Just picked up my 300 in SS/blue dial. Absolutely stunning watch. I wish they made it in titanium, and I preferred the teardrop second dial over lollipop, but aside from that I can’t complain. I don’t even notice, and I love this watch
As an Omega fan who doesn’t like the helium valve, this watch presses all the right buttons. Love it!

I actually got this one for my 30th birthday - today! LOVE IT!

This watch is gorgeous! I need to go to my AD and check them out on the metal.
Great video Teddy, and love the review and I definitely agree the absence of the helium escape valve is a plus!!
It was about one month wait for me with deposit, but I think they are starting to move
I’m liking the new b rolls Teddy, deffo adds flare to the vid and showcases the watch nicely!
Glad you like it! It’s quite a bit of extra work but I agree it helps!
I am getting this on Saturday.
“Nobody likes a thick watch.”
-> G-shock enters the chat.
That's for sure. The Rolex deep sea is a summer watch with a t-shirt. At around 17.5 mm is just to thick. I wouldn't say no if it was a gift.
Love it. Hoping to get the previous model (or a Railmaster) before winter 🤞🏻 (really don't understand why both are dearer than the Diver 300 tho!)
Cheers Mate 👍🏻👍🏻
This was the watch IMHO that didn’t need updating. It was perfect. Why get rid of the ceramic bezel? Makes no sense. I also like the white numerals rather than the whole dial being sandwiched. I’ll stick with my prior version.
I really like this piece, but frankly for the money, I’d probably go for the Planet Ocean.
Planet Ocean for the win.
Wearing the planet
I have no complaints.
Give me the hands from the planet ocean on this watch!!!!
I like the Heritage model too, but how does Omega explain the massive price increase compared to other Seamaster models in the range?
Better caliber (8912 is much better than 8800/8806) and it's more versatile watch. SMP diver is sport watch, while Seamaster 300 can be every day watch and even a dress watch.
The 1st thing I’ve noticed is the sandwich dial: it just add depth and a 3 dimension feeling to the dial. Beautiful piece ! 🤩
Still a bit chunky for me, I would prefer the 300 trilogy 1957 LE.
The only place where I will see this watch, teddys video.
Teddy. Excellent watch channel your reviews are first rate .
I have this watch since June ‘22 and now after six months the lume markers on the rotating bezel are coming off.
Very disappointed with the durability and quality from this happening. I don’t think that’s normal in a watch of this price
I had the retro inspired Seamaster 300 withe brown leather strap on my wrist today... It's a piece if art. Really slim impression.
That goofy second hand is a deal breaker for me. Omega makes nice watches but always manages to mess some detail up
As does every watch. No watch is perfect that is why we got more than one. 😀
Bought the white dial Omega Seamaster 300M as my first nice watch.
I have the current SMP and PO - I need to add this to the collection for sure. Thx Teddy. Great content. Great piece. Keep 'em coming.....
Er……!? Okey dokey
Love this watch! I would chose this over the submariner. And not having a date complication simply makes this elegant.
Old video, but I just ordered one of these! I'm so excited!
Yeah... I'll go with the Diver 300, myself. The ceramic dial with waves, reeses helium escape valve, iconic bracelet... it just have a more unique, identifiable look to this 300. My two cents.
They sponsor the Olympics now, alot of people must be noticing how cool their stuff is
Doesn’t seiko do it as well?
@@currentaf8455 Not sure, I just saw the an ad on the highway and their mall location
The lollipop seconds hand is a winner. So cool 👌🏻
Much nicer without the helium escape. Good looking watch.
I've been waiting for a video on this particular reference. I'm too scared to try it on at my local boutique - it may lead to divorce!
I love it. I wish they offered it with the much more practical time zone bezel found on the Spectre variant.
Rolex, Rolex, Rolex and more Rolex. I am sick and tired of youtubers talk about nothing but Rolex. You are not a snob and talk about different brands we are also interested in. t is one of the reasons why we subscribe and like your channel.
Your production quality is always on-point! Great timepiece! I love the sandwich dial!
Just picked up my 300 in SS/blue dial.
Absolutely stunning watch. I wish they made it in titanium, and I preferred the teardrop second dial over lollipop, but aside from that I can’t complain. I don’t even notice, and I love this watch
The aged look of the hands and bezel is nice without being overdone. Good retro inspired look.
13:26 - 13:32: bezel closeup clearly shows imperfections of/in the bezel inserts
Love this watch, will start saving up for this one! Can’t wait to own it!
