    Looks far better in the metal, and after a week on the wrist, wears more comfortably than any diver I've had from The Crown (sub, seadweller 43 and deepsea inlcuded) - I will say it did take some adjustment of half links several times before I got it just right. Great size. Hands are legible in all lighting conditions, and at practically any angle. The dial has character, but isnt flashy. Same with the bezel and case. I bought a few aftermarket straps, fully intending to put them on by now, but I just can't force myself to take it off of the bracelet. I am surprised how much I love the bracelet, having said many times that the Rolex oyster, specifically the glidelock version for their divers, is the best bracelet I have ever experienced. I don't want to say that it is better, but I will say that I do not miss the oyster when I am not wearing it. Glidelock is great, but when the bracelet fits very well in the fully closed position on the 300 heritage diver, the extension is just enough to give some relief when your wrist swells. One last thing I think that needs to be mentioned, is that people should do themselves a favor, me included, and stop obsessing over measurements before they try on a watch. Especially thickness. If you account for the crystal being domed, and the bit of the caseback that bubbles on the bottom, which fits into the crease of my wrist when wearing the watch with the bracelet properly sized, this watch does not seem chunky or top-heavy. At more than a mm thicker than a sub, I can tell you that the optical allusion created by the polished slab-sided case of the sub makes it appear to be taller than it is. With the thin, curvy and brushed mid-case of the 300, it appears thinner than the total height suggests. Bottom line: whenever possible, try the watch on before you write it off or decide on buying. I will not weigh in on the lume color as it is such a personal thing, and there really isn't a right answer. I will say, however, that modern materials do not fade for the most part, and even if they did, I am too old and impatient to wait for the lume to age. I love denim, and although it sounds nice to buy completely raw jeans and let them fade perfectly over time, it is also not completely practical given our modern use cases. As much as I'd love to be a one watch, and one pair of jeans guy, I am not. So I do not beat myself up for buying goods that sometimes appear to be pre-distressed... Thanks for the review, man. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

    Just picked up mine from AD! Fantastic watch. I've had previous gen (2014) and it was great, but with certain features that may not have been well designed and executed. All these small and somewhat negligible shortcomings have now been corrected with this generation and I can say that this is now a phenomenal watch! It can easily be the only watch a man has in collection.

    Nice video, went to try one recently as I love everything about this watch. However, sadly it just looked a little small for my 8 inch wrist. Pulled the trigger on a pro 300 in white instead, which was also on my list. Very pleased with it , so much for the money.

I have a Speedmaster (Hesalite) which is perfect for office and dinner settings but I does not feel like I can take it on hikes or to the beach or even in the rain ;D. Am hoping to get this Seamaster in black on bracelet for my more outdoorsy days.

    • @ChisholmHunterOfficial
      @ChisholmHunterOfficial  2 года назад

      Thank you Sir! The glass being sapphire crystal is definitely more durable. Personally for my outdoors watches i stick with Rubber or Nato straps, it helps resist general wear and tear!

    • @777ivandiaz
      @777ivandiaz 2 года назад +2

      I have mine on a nato and I’ve already banged in on a lot of stuff. I nailed it so hard a few weeks ago on metal bracket sticking out from a door that it left a deep gash in the lug. Kept its usual +0.3 second a day. It’s only one example but maybe that helps you a little. It’s definitely tough as far as shock resistance.

Even the proportion of the numerals is better and closer to the original but also no reason for them to be open like that. I wish the seamaster trilogy had this color lume instead of the darker shade they went with

      @@mrknobchopps the platinum is solid. i can wear it now, turns out i injured my wrist and i had to get a steroid injection. But before that shot that watch was killing my wrist. i have an explorer 2 and that has hollow links, very comfortable to wear. Most rolexes were hollow before 2010, so its not really a clown thing. It keeps the wearability high by keeping weight near 150g. over 270g for gold and 330 plus for platinum is a different wear, i dont have alot of fat so my skin gets bruised. i dont wear rubber bands since rubber deteriorates and i want to keep it original and in the family forever.
