I like the idea of you doing this of mostly easier extreme demons, because I think you can be way more accurate at rating them because you've made good progress on them or have beaten them. Unlike the hardest levels in the game where you might be inaccurate because I believe you only do 1 practice run.

To me this level has always felt underrated since it fallen out of the top 10. I'd say it definitely deserves the extreme demon rating to this day. Also i would say that the first part of the wave is about 3.0-3.5 but the second part is a 4.5 imo. The mini is super tight.

I've recently beaten cataclysm and I can confirm that this video is pretty accurate. I wanted to point out another hard part, the 73-74 ship after the dual. That part killed me like 5 times before I actually beat the level lol

A lot of people such as Doggie, trick, zoink, wpopoff, nexus and many more current players use things like bypass and CBF making the game easier for them, also once they have beaten several top 150 demons, levels like cataclysm feel like a breeze for them. Yes they are obviously still a slight challenge, but they beat levels like Bloodlust, Crimson planet, the golden, Tartarus, firework, and Slaughterhouse and then you expect them to struggle with Cataclysm. The short answer is no. Although we may struggle with easy extremes like cataclysm, a good amount of people don’t.
We've become desensitized to difficulty as a community nowdays. Guys, Cataclysm is freaking HARD. Just because to Zoink, Trick and Diamond (as an example) it's easy that doesn't mean It won't annihilate everybody else. I actually heard one guy say Cataclysm is mid-tier insane demon. As if we're still in version 1 and Riot never buffed it somehow
It does definitely vary based on refresh rate/device, even more so then with other levels. It is actually top 50 on the mobile list, above other extremes that are harder on PC (such as Electrolux, Niflheim, 666, etc). Good vid tho!
Honestly, the first 35% of the level were the biggest roadblock for me, which made the experience very frustrating. I loved playing from the UFO after the ball. If I got there from 0, I had a shot at completing the level.
Beat both as my two hardest levels and had way more trouble finishing ICDX. This very last ship part is something I‘ll never be consistent at for some reason…
Found the last ball to be a massive block personally. I cannot gain any consistency at it, but dont have too much trouble with the first wave tbh. I have a weird af skillset though
i tried to beat cata for a while, practiced the drop and rest of level to save the predrop for last. after 2 weeks of practicing the drop, i realized that i physically could NOT do the mini wave and was devastated. currently playing acu :v
first cube is 1.0ish, the first wave for me is 3.5 as I feel it's very skill based, second ship is 3.6 the 2nd wave is 2.9ish, I actually found the ball pretty easy compared to other parts, so I'd give it a 3.1, the Ufo is brief but difficult, so I'll put it at a 3.3, the next ship corridor is quite awkward so I'll leave it at as a 3.7, the next cube is actually quite easy compared to the rest of the level in my opinion, so I have it as about 2.7. The next section is basically free, but I would say you are underrating it, since the memory ball isn't super free, so I'd put it as a 2.3. The last ship is a huge roadblock for 60 hz players like me. I'd say it's the hardest part by far, since how long the straight fly section is, so I'd put it at 3.5-4.5, depending on your hz, but I'd put it at 4.5 for me. The last section is pretty underrated in my opinion. It's definitely easier than the rest of the level, but it's still a challenge, so I'd put it at 2.6 because the last straight fly is a big chokepoint for 60hz players, so I raised it from a 2.3 to a 2.6. I guess this is just how the level difficulty differs by your hz.
my opinion: 0-6%: easiest part, every timing is a buffer and it's pretty easy to memorize 6-15%: the second hardest part of the entire level, the timings are pretty tight but it slowly becomes consistent with practice 18-25%: second easiest part of the drop, pretty easy to learn, the ship control is kinda hard but if you're playing in 120hz or more it becomes pretty easy 25-28%: this wave at first is pretty hard but eventually you find a click pattern that becomes pretty consistent 28-35%: the second hardest part of the drop, this ball is pretty hard to learn but with time you learn it, but it's still a massive run killer due to it's second part 35-40%: probably a massive ufo skill issue from my part, but it's just impossible to get consistent on it, everytime i get here i pray to rngezus because i just can't get consistent 40-43%: the hardest part of the entire level, even though it's really short, the difficulty here increases by a lot, getting into the clubstep monsters with the right angle is crucial but really hard to do, combining with the nerves, this part becomes hell, but this is the final push in cataclysm for me, after this, everything becomes a battle against your nerves 43-51%: the first input on this part is pretty hard, but after that everything flows really well 51-64%: the hardest part that it's not in the drop, it's pretty easy to just click to early or too late when you're nervous, just keep calm, this part also flows really well and it's pretty easy once you master it 64-75%: this part is pretty easy if you're playing in 120hz or more, the only thing that can kill you is your nerves, you're at the final stretch of cataclysm so they're here and in big amounts 75-100%: don't celebrate too early, this wave can be really tricky if you're not prepared, just focus on fighting your nerves, after the wave, your last enemy will be a 4 block wide regular straight fly, it's pretty easy to pull of, and after all of this, you've beaten this legendary demon
I did the math and the level got an overall average score of 2.76, which places it at high end insane demon. Is this a flaw with the difficulty system presented in this video? probably. Either you're personally underrating the parts or your difficulty system is disproportionate, both of which are very possible cases. (I added all the ratings up to get 30.4 and divided it by 11 because that is how many parts this video separates the level into)
Finding the average score is a terrible measure since a 4.0 score isn't 33% harder than a 3.0 score , it's more like 2x harder so of course the average score won't make sense lol

My ratings: 0-6% - 0.7: You only really die here if you try to get the coin and even then it's still easy 6-15% - 4.2: Insanely hard with tight gaps 18-25% - 2.8: Not too difficult just kind of weird gameplay 25-28% - 2.6: Not too tight wave but low visibility gives it the difficulty 28-35% - 3.0: When you know the click pattern it becomes really easy. The double click is hard and so are the timings 35-40% - 2.8: Pretty tight ufo but the click pattern is easy to learn and master 40-43% - 3.5: Really difficult but it can become consistent with a good click pattern (I usually do 1 2 3 then the portal then 1 2 3 4 then click and hold the orbs) 43-48% - 2.7: The only hard part about this section is the triple orb click at 47/48% where if you click the blue orb for too long you jump on the platform and die 48-64% - 1.8: Not difficult but I did find myself dying from 58-60% because of the weird ufo and semi-difficult ball clicks and weird straight-fly at the end 64-75% - 3.8: This part is insanely difficult. Not much else to say 75-100% - 1.0/2.8: This part is 2 ratings because on it's own it's insanely easy but with nerves it becomes very difficult.
Don’t try to click too fast. I am usually going for 4-5 clicks from 40% to 42% (about 2 clicks per straight flying). Requires a beat of practice but definitely more reliable than going full straight fly, at least on low framerates…
There is a difference between particing and going for the completion. Average player actually dies about 200 times more on the wave than on the ship part.
for me the first wave is relatively easy, the first ship is easy the ball right after is difficult and basically the rest of the level up until the piano section is difficult, but the ship at 40% is impossible to me and the rest of the level is easy. I am on 75hz btw

My progress is 24%-100% and 74% from 0%. I can tell you that 43%-49% part is a lot harder when you actually get there. I died 6 times at 46% and 16 times at 48%. Considering how hard it is to get to 43% on Cataclysm this is really unfortunate…

To have an idea on how this level is unbalanced, just with Medium Demon skills, you can do 48-64 and 75-100, that's 41% of the entire level. I myself have 0-19, 48-64 and 75-100, that's 60% of the level, and I'm still Hard Demon
My ratings (I've played a couple thousand attempts of cataclysm, and done the entire second half in one run) First Cube: 0.5 First Wave: 4.5 (The Mini parts difficulty to the spacing makes it even exceed many short wave parts from Sonic Wave, not kidding) First Ship: 3.25 Second Wave: 2.75 First Ball: 3.75 First UFO: 3.5 Second Ship: 4 Second Cube: 2.5 Second Ball/Memorization Part: 2.25 Third Ship: 3.75 Ending (Wave-Final Straight Fly): 2 Basically, I just thought your ratings were a little low for some parts, and that it was way too high for a part or two :)
IMO your video is very unaccurate in many aspects. Thats why I will say my opinion: -On the first wave I agree 4.0, like your average TOP 100 demon nowadays or Sakupen Hell difficulty (But in 2015 LOL) -The ship I would say more than hard, its very akward, I will out it an 2.3, an insane demon difficulty. -The next miniwave is pretty easy. I died there less times than on the very first cube so I will put a 0.8 -The ball is pretty tricky but it gets pretty consistent with the time and its the most fun part of the level so a 1.8 -The UFO is considerabely easier than the ball, still you can die there a few times so I will put a 1.5 -Puff, this hard for me is way harder than the first wave but luckily its pretty short, I will put a 4.3. Slighty harder than the first wave but is on the 40% mark so it hurts more to die there. -Next cube, is like the ball, quite tricky but get consistente and its pretty fun, a 1.5 -Minicube and link ball are basically a break but you have to be careful still, a 1.2 -This ship is very tough, mainly for its duration. 60% of my attempts learning this level were trying to beat this entire ship and its on the end so its almost imposible to not die there at least once. A 3.5 -The last parte is pretty easy but I recomme d practicing the miniwave for extra safety. A 1.2 And thats it. I think you overrated Cataclysm a little bit lol. I think that your videos about modern extreme demons are very accurate but on the old ones not that much, probably because you are starting to beat extremes. Because you take a lot of attempts, you overrated them accidentaly. I think thats normal when you a beating levels that are way harder than your hardest level before but it is just a recommendation. Or maybe is because I play on mobile, the difference between one difficulty and another is way more evident so its easier to say accurate difficulties for me. I also think that your difficulty ratings are very low to compare easier level. For example 2.0 is a insane demon but the number "2" makes it seems that is way easier. Still love your vídeos and its very good to know that you are still active in this community :D

Tbh, I don't agree with you at all, but that's probably because of the fact that I play with 288 fps.

Don’t try to click too fast. I am usually going for 4-5 clicks from 40% to 42% (about 2 clicks per straight flying). Requires a beat of practice but definitely more reliable than going full straight fly, at least on low framerates…

There is a difference between particing and going for the completion. Average player actually dies about 200 times more on the wave than on the ship part.

The hardest part imo is the ship since i keep beating stupidly unbalanced wave challenges in the insane recent tab and wave is my best gamemode

OK as we got a easy extreme you should do either silent clubstep new or old, old tartarus (silent akbar ) or vulnix a next to impossible layout
for me the first wave is relatively easy, the first ship is easy the ball right after is difficult and basically the rest of the level up until the piano section is difficult, but the ship at 40% is impossible to me and the rest of the level is easy. I am on 75hz btw

I am playing this level for my first extreme and for me the last ship is hard for me because of nerves and i died to the 74 gap four times

Ima be honest, cataclysm is probably the one of the easiest extreme demons now, compared to the new extreme demons that come out every week, they are make cataclysm seem like a hard demon

One thing I disagree with is that the cube at 46 gets really easy once you’ve learned it at least for me

My progress is 24%-100% and 74% from 0%. I can tell you that 43%-49% part is a lot harder when you actually get there.
I died 6 times at 46% and 16 times at 48%. Considering how hard it is to get to 43% on Cataclysm this is really unfortunate…

To have an idea on how this level is unbalanced, just with Medium Demon skills, you can do 48-64 and 75-100, that's 41% of the entire level. I myself have 0-19, 48-64 and 75-100, that's 60% of the level, and I'm still Hard Demon

My ratings (I've played a couple thousand attempts of cataclysm, and done the entire second half in one run)
First Cube: 0.5
First Wave: 4.5 (The Mini parts difficulty to the spacing makes it even exceed many short wave parts from Sonic Wave, not kidding)
First Ship: 3.25
Second Wave: 2.75
First Ball: 3.75
First UFO: 3.5
Second Ship: 4
Second Cube: 2.5
Second Ball/Memorization Part: 2.25
Third Ship: 3.75
Ending (Wave-Final Straight Fly): 2
Basically, I just thought your ratings were a little low for some parts, and that it was way too high for a part or two

NONONONONO. The old version is even worse since the first ship has the worst ship gameplay ever and it's insanely stupid.

IMO your video is very unaccurate in many aspects. Thats why I will say my opinion:
-On the first wave I agree 4.0, like your average TOP 100 demon nowadays or Sakupen Hell difficulty (But in 2015 LOL)
-The ship I would say more than hard, its very akward, I will out it an 2.3, an insane demon difficulty.
-The next miniwave is pretty easy. I died there less times than on the very first cube so I will put a 0.8
-The ball is pretty tricky but it gets pretty consistent with the time and its the most fun part of the level so a 1.8
-The UFO is considerabely easier than the ball, still you can die there a few times so I will put a 1.5
-Puff, this hard for me is way harder than the first wave but luckily its pretty short, I will put a 4.3. Slighty harder than the first wave but is on the 40% mark so it hurts more to die there.
-Next cube, is like the ball, quite tricky but get consistente and its pretty fun, a 1.5
-Minicube and link ball are basically a break but you have to be careful still, a 1.2
-This ship is very tough, mainly for its duration. 60% of my attempts learning this level were trying to beat this entire ship and its on the end so its almost imposible to not die there at least once. A 3.5
-The last parte is pretty easy but I recomme d practicing the miniwave for extra safety. A 1.2
And thats it. I think you overrated Cataclysm a little bit lol. I think that your videos about modern extreme demons are very accurate but on the old ones not that much, probably because you are starting to beat extremes. Because you take a lot of attempts, you overrated them accidentaly. I think thats normal when you a beating levels that are way harder than your hardest level before but it is just a recommendation.
Or maybe is because I play on mobile, the difference between one difficulty and another is way more evident so its easier to say accurate difficulties for me.
I also think that your difficulty ratings are very low to compare easier level. For example 2.0 is a insane demon but the number "2" makes it seems that is way easier.
