Not me watching this 2years later and answer “yes” out loud every time you ask us is the part straight 🤣🤣 thank you so much for this video 🥰
😂 same! Lol
😂😂😂
Chile the dedication 😟‼️I’ma be real wit u I’m 19 months locd and my grid is 📈📉. I just said free Willy 😆
😂🤣
😅😂
🤣💖
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So glad to see someone else just come out and say this because these loc grid videos feel so overwhelming.
I also love how you kept asking us if it’s straight 😂
😂
I kept saying yes😆
And it really was! She did a great job!
That don’t look hard at all! 😩😂 I’m thinking about doing these but my brain refuses to comprehend what you’re showing me right now.🤦🏾♀️
😀😂😆
You ladies that do this have a great deal of patience. Let me start saving my 2k now because I can’t do this 😂 😩
🤣🤣 not 2k😅 come back and show us your install I do micro locs in my salon but I love watching the DIY'ers working it out 🥰
Lmaoooo at saving for the 2k. The way my pockets are currently set up, I cannot. I'm prepping mentally as we speak lol
Update: I installed my own. Took about 2 days with breaks then an additional day and some change, splitting them to half the size. A journey. But saved coin and they look decent enough lol
Same here!!!🤣😂
I go back n forth everyday on if I wanna try it myself or pay. I'm saving the coins just in case lol. But I've watched this video multiple times for inspiration 👍🏾
This is amazing and inspirational. Thank you.
The 9 people who disliked this video are S.L. consultants 🤣
Exactly!
I'm in hystericsss. The accuracy
🤣🤣🤣
They need to say why because she did a clean and great job. Just need patience.
🤣🤦🏿♀️
You did a great job staying in subject and explaining things as clearly as possible. You are now a reference point. Thank you.
CONGRATS! I had traditional locs for 13 years before combing them out (one by one, took 5 weeks to comb them out.) Thee weeks ago I started DIY Microlocs. Took 24+ hours. Way to go! I have 225 locs (2pt rotation) way to go!
Wow, 13 yrs? Are you happy with your choice to do microlocs?
Meeeee Tooooo... about 13 yrs. I combed them and plan on getting some knotless braids. After I take my braids down I'm going to start my diy "Microlocks." Can't wait. I plan on starting my 6yr old's this month. I can't deal with the natural hair care routine.
I’m about to do this now. I’m on my second set of traditional locs, 9 years deep. It’s time for a change🤩
@@brandi5200 Nine weeks ago I combed out my interlocks (nearly 400) because I took the Sisterlocks training course and after taking that course I wanted to redo my installment yet AGAIN. Right now I’m completely natural until I gain enough energy and motivation to reinstall. 😕
@@Y2KDivaLocs I’m a little nervous about interlocking and maintenance time, but it’s so pretty I just HAVE to have them 😍😫
When you took the measuring tape out I subscribed! Great job!! Wow
This is gold!! You have no idea how much your detailed instructions helped me. I even made a tool like the one you used. ✊🏾🙌🏾👏🏾
That is awesome! I am so glad it helped!
How did you make the tool?
Such patience! That is why stylists deserve all their prop…because I will PAY before putting myself through that! And my math is HORRIBLE. But once the grid is good, I’d teach myself maintenance.
I thought I was the only one that would take forever to ensure my parts were straight and exact. All my kids know I do not play, those parts will be completely exact!!!
Gurl! It’s me, AGAIN. Guess what I’m doing? Combing out my 2-month old interlocs so that I can install micros! Crazy, all the changes I’m going through. While coming out my locs I’m binge-watching your Microloc establishment! Lol.
😮 Well you know what...At the end you will have the locs you desire. Thank you for binge-watching my videos! 🤗
i have 2 month old sisterlocks, and she definitely making me like installing smaller to make it look more fuller, and i have thin hair but she definetly did a great job on that grid frfr....
💀
By far, this is the MOST PRECISE VIDEO ON RUclips I HAVE EVVVERRRR SEEN ON THE PART TECHNIQUE. From the sq. In. Configuration to the detection of # of parts. So perfect. I wish I knew this when I started mine 5 years ago. These parts are everywhere. My start is on my channel. But the only thing you have way more than I do. The good thing about them being like this is less chance of losing them but I've never lost 1 yet & mine all different sizes.
I’m binge watching microlocs videos but it seems like all you queens have thick hair. I’m a 3c-4a fine hair natural and my edges are thin😩. I’m scared I’ll look bald headed with microlocs but darn it I want them😩
Probably not, I have a thin structure too but am doing it anyway lol
It will be beautiful Queen! They will look thicker as your locs mature. My mother has very fine hair wavy hair and her locks look amazing! She hated the plucked “chicken” look after the Install but now she is so happy
Tam I Am Fingers crossed🤞🏿
Me too ! That’s my problem ! 😩
Me too but I want them so bad
Wow! I don't usually post comments but I am so impressed with this video!! It's awesome to look on youtube and find exactly what you're looking for. I'm over here responding to your questions about the parts..😂 Your voice made a difference and you're beautiful. I felt included in your loc journey. Now I'm not going to do micros but I will definitely take my time and get it exactly how I want it to look. Just like you did. Anyway, LOVED your video. Now on to view the rest of your journey.
sis................ you did that and now i need you to do mine!!! i got cash and time!
😂😂😂
Tay LaDawn Aint nobody laughing! Get this money girl! We have the time!!!😆
@@taetaebaebae4031 I'm with you hun... she can get me after you.
Yassss! She did great!
🤣🤣🤣
Your grid is amazing! I switched from traditional locs to micro braid locs 2 months ago i am also documenting it on my channel! I am excited to follow you on your journey!
Thank you so much! Imma go check you out!
This is great! I'm starting my locs today. I love how you filmed it. I think I will too.
You should! It will be great documentation!
I love your explanation. Most videos I’ve seen have not explained how they sized their grid. I feel a lot more confident gauging size and amount of locs now. Thank you!
This is awesome! If you can just establish my grid for me, I can do the rest. 😉☺️
Dang you did a good job. I feel like I have to dedicate a day to just the grid lol
I'm sat here talking you like you can hear me. Lol... at first I was like whhhhat are you talking about??? .. then I saw the grid forming and YAAAASSSS SIIIS!!!!
After 20years natural, I did not have the patience you ladies had to DIY! LOL I refuse! I went to a loctican who is amazing and a grid master. Ha! Glad I can follow your journey. Im 5 weeks in!
Wow! I’m impressed. You are so patient and detailed.
New subbie 😊 Im so excited to watch the rest of your videos! You did an amazing job on your grid 🔥
Thanks so much, and thank you for subscribing! 🤗 You were definitely an inspiration of mine!
🙌🏿🙌🏿
I've been rocking freestyle mini twists for 2 years and my goal is to split them in half one more time when I finally decide to retwist them again. I want to take then all down and start with an actual grid, especially since I get so many compliments on how they look now. This is so inspiring!
Girl i can tell that you are super smart. You broke this all the way down , I’m thinking about taking my 2 yr MicroLocs down & restarting mine . Not sure if you’re a nurse but you giving me nurse vibes lol love your tutorial diy grid, now I need to find your establishment vid
I've watched this video 4x times lol I'm in the process of doin my own.....girrrllll you're ON POINT!! well done you did them all and I'm 2yrs late but you super inspire me!
I love this video. I cant wait to do mine I have wanted locks for years. I have watched this video about 5 times. I am scared and excited 😁 . I wanna be loc'd up . Thank you for this video 📹 💜
I commend you for following through and completing that. I promise you, it would've taken me a long time to figure out how to even get the measurements of my parts to match equally. You did an excellent job! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I will be subscribing to your channel just because of your determination alone!
Wooo honey child! You had feeling like my ass was in math class!😂 Sis! You was doin the daymn thing!❤
Not doing my locs until end of year November!!! Taking two weeks vacation to do this! May have to go rent hotel room. Just so Mom, son, and the dog will leave me in peace. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'll need full zen mode for this. 🥰🥰🥰 Your grid is amazing!
You got this! 💪🏾
Gurrrrrrl you are good with this. Like a mad scientist. I'm gonna follow your pattern.
I have about 15 inches of hair and I’m starting mine this Sunday! Will be using this parting system. Maybe I should record and document! Your locs are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
How long did it take you in the end? I have a similar length
This is amazing! I want to restart my locs with the perfect grid because I did one too many combinations over the last 5 months. Going to take forever with a two year old hanging on my leg but I love this process and can’t wait to try. Thank you for detailing your process so well.
I have really fine straight hair, but I've wanted locks for a few years now (mainly because my hair tangles very easily and locks will be lower maintenance). Learning how you did your own grid was something I found so helpful! It's one of the things I have been nervous about doing myself. Thank you for sharing the entire process!
You're very welcome and Im glad to help!
Locs are not low maintenance at all. This is why locs have a bad rep of being seen as unkempt, dirty, and unprofessional.
@@MonaMona-fy5wk they are low maintenance when compared to having free natural hair. Not detangling every wash day, worrying about your hair behaving & holding a style etc. yes you still have to wash it & re tie like every 6 weeks but it’s low maintenance cause you can just wake up & go
I honestly think sisterlocs would look amazing with your hair type, honestly sisterlocs compliments any hair type.
Tay..I want to THK U so much on how to properly section hair for install..your hair is absolutely gorgeous. I’m preparing my hair to start in a wk (jus washed) want to build my oil into hair..anywho I’ll use your method +/- 30 blocks 🤷🏾♀️ er’bdy head not shaped alike and if I get that amount I’ll have 130 2-strand twist (4)/section and I’ll no longer have to do my hair 🤗 jus wash/twist for 1year and then decide if I’ll let them bud/lock ☺️…Again THK U
That was a fantastic and detailed grid tutorial. Thank you, Tay :-)!
No, Thank you!😊
I've watched this video like a thousand times...great work
I am the same way with parting. I believe having clean parts really set the foundation for a crisp grid pattern and it’s super versatile for styling. I’m currently traveling for nursing but have a week left on my contract. I’m definitely starting my locs when I go home cause I’ll have more time to really take my time on everything. Thank you for this informative video 🙏🏾
Thank you for this detailed instruction on laying the grid pattern. I am in my office doing calculations and making plans for my process. Thank you!
Bless your heart. That was too much for me trying to do that grid. I just parted and let it do what it do. lol
you were so meticulous. I'm installing micros and my grid is gone be what it is. lol
Same here 🤣
Right
Me too, but I love it. Mine will be, what they be'.😅
Lol right❤️
Thank you for making this video. Great work and patience with the process.
Thanks for taking the time to explain everything this video has taught me so much
This is so amazing!! Thank you for sharing. ✌🏾💜🧘🏾♀️I just had a partial JACKED UP Sisterlock installation and i am in the process of combing out the 80 locs she did. You are making me want to do my own. I will be reading and researching this month!! I am kinda low key OCD too... which is what scares me. I think I will be trying to do parts for a week if I do! 😬🤣
How’s it going???
I had that book! But I bought it about 10 years after I had my 1st set of locs 😅 I cut that set after 13 years and now I have micro locs (started 11/2018) I wish I had done this set in a diamond grid because I have fine hair
This is awesome! I bought the same book and it has a wealth of information! I plan on installing my locs over the holiday weekend.
That's awesome! I'm sure it will turn out great!
This video was extremely hopeful will be doing this
Sissss, I know this may be asking alot but can you paste those squares in a google doc and share it to your description box? I just am having a hard time.
:) Sure, let me see what I can do!
@@TayLaDawn if you were able to paste the squares, I'd love a link as well!
@@TayLaDawn can I have the link as well?
@Tay LaDawn Can I have the document as well please?
Is there a place to find them online ?
u did better than the person that did my sisterlocks. smh. i really like ur grid. it looks really neat. i feel ur going to do a great job. wish u could of done mine. u better than some of these "pros" here in florida....
All I want is my locs to be that size. But I have very thick hair. However, you gave me a platform to start.
That's awesome! I'm happy I was able to help!
I'm a teacher and I think many girls would be more interested in math if they were doing your calculations!
Thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for sharing your journey/process & making so many sections was super smart & it definitely kept everything organized.
Great job! I did the DIY micro braids into locs. My hair was damaged.. so it was really thin at first. I'm a year in and it's thickening up pretty well. Great for being on the go with kids and comedy. I love it... best decision for me. Maybe I'll do a video one day.
Yourself and @Queeneleem have inspired me start my locks. I can't wait to follow your journey.
Lordt. I just did a screen shot of your grid. As soon as I’m done combing this set out I’m definitely jumping on the next set.
Thank you so much for recording this. This is so helpful!!
Thank you! I have been drinking up all the knowledge I can get! The grid will be my biggest challenge. Your steps are very detail, I've watch QueenElien as well. Love ❤️ it!
I'm about to do my daughters hair and you just made it so much easier! Now I need a good video on adding permanent loc extensions. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Now I know exactly how I'm going to start my own grid! 👏🏿😁
This was a whole look in itself! xx
Thank you so much for your very informative video. You have no idea how much this has helped me. I have always done my own hair and now I will be installing my own Micro Locs. I had not even thought about sectioning a grid, like you have done. I don't know what I was thinking about. I use to do my own Bantu Knots with triangle parts, but my hair was much shorter. Once it started getting longer I could no longer part it myself into triangles. So I've been wearing an afro puff for like 5 years now. Which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Not to mention it was quick and easy! 🙂 It is now however, time for a change and doing this grid is going to be my saving Grace. Thank you once again for sharing and your inspiration. I have liked and subscribed I need to know everything you do from now on. You have truly inspired me this evening! 💙
Awww, Thank you so much! That brings me joy to know how much I have inspired you. You're awesome!
You parting is amazing!
I’m so happy my hubby sent me your channel....you got my 3 fave things: budgeting, Tesla & locs 🤯 subscribedddddd. I’m so excited. Getting loc’d in a few weeks. Wish my OCD would let me do it myself
Congratulations on your new loc journey. I have had sisterlocks for 14 months and published my anniversary video on March 4, 2020. I am a #newsubscriber and i look forward to following you on this journey and seeing more of your content.
Thank you so much for subscribing!
I couldn’t even part my mom’s hair that neat 😐. But I still want to do my own install
1st let me say the Bantu knots is a style in itself baby I would have wore these to work. 2nd lol it’s too small, you got this!
I’m about to do this, too. Thank you for showing me what’s up!
No problem!!!
I’m starting my loc journey soon and this was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you so much 😍 Following you on IG now too!
Thank you for the tutorial ❤️ I find you really pretty and you have beautiful smile
Thank you so much! 💜
Thanks for taking the time to film the video. It is super helpful
You are so pretty! And your teeth are bomb sis lol yasss this video is EVERYTHING

Thank you for sharing bout to restart mine today. ❤
Its gonna be awesome! I can't wait to see the final loc done...🤗
Great video, i was staying on pace with you setting my grid..we shall see!
Thank you for the thorough tutorial!
Whew Chile!!!! The math I understand but toooooo much for my brain. But you did good…how about I freestyle mine
Your patience is extraordanary! I could NEVA! 🤣
Very well thought out! Nice!

I'm looking to do microlocs and you, my sister from another mother have just become my inspiration!! Binging on your videos right now. Thank You!!
Wow!!! Your parts and the squares look amazing.
Was on IG came across your pic followed...came to your YT page subscribed! You did an awesome job w/the parting. I too am a subbie of Queen Eleem. I'm looking forward to following your journey..I'm still on the fence about doing my own hair bc I want Sisterlocks but that price plus the Coronavirus has me pushing pause on that! I've ordered some tools just in case I decide to give it a try! Ok let me go ck out the next video!!!
That is awesome! Thank you so much for following and subscribing! Let me know if you decide to do it yourself. Either way they will turn out beautiful!
Okay, I got the name of the book. I'm doing the same grid you have. I want smaller locs.
I'm glad you found it! I think you'll love your locs!
Congratulations on your lock journey nice video showing how to part your grid right Hi myself didn't my locks didn't worry about how I was parted still turned out nice and I really love it I'm two years and and I have three hundred and twenty eight locks a lot of people stop me and ask me are they a sister locks and asks me where did I get them done and I said I did it myself but my only thing is 328 locks I have such a hard time getting them in a ponytail or braids it's a lot
Your parts are so neat, i started my journey and im documenting on my channel, my parts on arent straight tho
Thank you! Congrats on your journey!
This was so great to watch!! Thank you!
Whew and to have ocd on top of that. Sista you a real one
Very detailed, tuvm for sharing.
Hi Queen! Congrats on your new journey. I plan to begin my journey soon and I am so excited. Quick question- why didn’t you conditioned your hair after washing with the clarifying shampoo?
Hey! Tysm! I didn't condition because I didn't want to do my installation on super soft hair and to eliminate any potential buildup.
Great video. Thinking of getting micro Locs. Oh by the way you are right on point you are OCD for sure LOL. Not a bad thing. I think I need to go to a professional after watching this. Too technical for me. You did an awesome job 💜🌸
Awesome!
At this point we just need to get covid tested so I can get you to install mine😩😩😩 I'll pay. 🤷🏾♀️ I'm tired🤦🏾♀️🤣
😂😂😂 Girl, the way I just giggled at, "I'll pay, I'm tired" I relate sooooo much. 😫😫
Omg I love it!!
Came from TikTok
I have watched a few times. I am sycing myself up to do this. Give me strength. It's time
Great grid 👍 thanks for content.
