Fun fact: Peter Quill actually dropped the Orb by mistake but he stayed in character which made it so hilarious that the director kept it in the film. 😂
I love interesting little Behind the scenes anecdotes. There are a few that Pop up for every reactor when they watch certain movies and TV shows.
For this one it is Chris Pratt dropping the orb on accident but they left it in the movie because it was hilarious.
Another super common thing is in Lord of the Rings the 2 towers. Everybody always shares the fact that Vigo Mortensen broke his toe kicking that helmet And the scream afterwards was a scream of pain not anger.
The one I always point out is that when Mel Gibson was filming Braveheart, He actually wanted to be strung up by his neck with rope during the scene where he was racked. They went for it one time and within 5 or 10 seconds he was completely unconscious. There was no permanent damage but they couldn't film it that way because he physically was unable to.
That definitely comes from his days on Parks and Rec. A lot of that show was improv.

The beginning with Peter's mom always kills me, especially the way he runs away. I wasnt a kid when my mom passed from cancer but I was in such denial that she was actually going to die. So I stayed away (I lived in a different city and didnt move back home) and acted like things were normal. I wasn't there for her and I wasn't there when she died. And it absolutely kills me to this day how much I wasnt there, to be with her for those limited days I deluded myself into thinking weren't. The beginning always reminds me of my failings as her son...
Some things in life are overwhelming, and denial is a natural response, just like anger or any other way to act out. Don’t blame yourself for being a vulnerable human being. My heart goes out to you. My mom survived cancer but I was too immature to share my feelings when she was going through it. Years later I was lucky enough to be able to tell her how much I love her
I was studying in a different city as my mother was passing from cancer. I'd come back every weekend to see her so much worse. I ran away.
I know that you blame yourself. I blame myself to this day for not being there. It's been like 38 years now and it haunts me.
So... You are not alone. Know that. 😔
Anytime ANYTHING happens:

His ships name is “The Milano”. After Alyssa Milano. His crush when he was a kid on earth. In later movies after the Milano is destroyed he has “The Benatar” after Pat…
The restored one at the end of this movie is the Benatar, in fact.
I thought he just really like Pepperidge Farms.
How would Alyssa Milano have been around in the early 1980's?
Slurping and gulping into the mic is really appreciated, guys.
In the omic books Rocket Raccoon acts as the "Guardian of the Keystone Quadrant", an area of outer space sealed off from the rest of the cosmos by the so-called Galacian Wall. Rocket comes from the planet Halfworld in the Keystone Quadrant, an abandoned colony for the mentally ill where the animal companions were genetically manipulated to grant them human-level intelligence and bipedal body construction for many to become caretakers of the inmates. Rocket was Halfworld's chief law officer ("ranger").
Actually "terra" literally means Earth. So, Terran means you are from Earth.
Not knowing the own home adress is somewhat awkward.

Jane says Groot ‘s OP we may have to get rid of him then five seconds later cries when Groot sacrifices himself
Groot was awesome in my opinion right up until Infinity War. Honest to God I cannot stand teenage Groot. The character was so uniquely funny it's funny in both of The Guardian's movies and then he was not funny.......at all. Not even the jokes from other actors made him an entertaining character.
The actress who played nebula is actually Scottish
We see Thanos at the end of Avengers, but this is the first time they had someone cast in the role for him, so Josh Brolin did voice and mo-cap work. The mo-cap is why Thanos looks a little different. He looks like Brolin here vs. the hand animated CGI from Avengers.
Coldness of space doesn’t kill you or harm you as fast as you’d think. There is no air in space for your body heat to transfer to.
Thank you. You, saved me from having to comment.
True. You actually suffocate.
Karen Gillian does not have an English accent it’s Scottish
Easily in my top 5 MCU movies with so many awesome characters and huge range of emotions! Great one as always, cant wait for yall to finish out the Infinity War Saga!
"The English accent's completely gone". Amy Pond is notoriously Scottish.
Rules to do when JV or Jane prepare to cry
Rule 1- Bring unlimited boxes of tissues
Rule 2- Clear the house of allergies
Rule 3- Give hugs and tell him it’s alright
Nebula is played by Karen Gillan who was Amy Pond in Doctor Who
Groot is voiced by Vin Diesel. Rocket is voiced by Bradley Cooper
When they are all able to hold the power stone together is the absolute best scene ever!
Quill’s ship is the Milano named after Alyssa Milano from Who’s the Boss at least that’s where Quill would know her

The Milano is named after Peter Quill's childhood crush, Alyssa Milano
Hi guys just an FYI when it comes to how much profit a movie makes it isn't just how much it makes at the box office minus the cost of how much the movie cost to make. There I also the substantial cost in marketing a film, which is usually 50 to 75% of the production cost. Plus the box office ticket revenues are split between the movie theater and the studio. In actuality, this movie only was a profit for Disney in the amount of 180 million dollars. Nothing to be sneezed at of course, but nowhere near the 500 million that Jane thought it made
Groot is the last of his species, and ironically, the only nice one. The rest of his species were horrible.
Considering how easy it is to grow a new Groot from a dead one, it's hard to imagine what had to happen to wipe out the rest of his species.
Oh man, this one has to be one of the best (if not the best) non-Avengers MCU films!!!
Arnold Drake and the artist was Gene Colan for Guardians of the galaxy
The name of the ship is The Milano.....named after Alyssa Milano
MERYL STREEP LOL!!!!!!!!!! He said it with so much confidence!
Michael Rooker was in MALLRATS
This bunch of characters (other than Groot, who debuted in pre-superhero Lee & Kirby Marvel story as an evil alien monster and then was revived decades later as well as the the soundtrack are all from the 70s. So are Thanos, the Collector, and the Nova Corps. Ronan is a Lee/Kirby character debuting (like the Kree) in the Fantastic Four.
The Guardians are characters from the 70s, but they weren't put together as The Guardians of the Galaxy until the 21st century. Marvel's ORIGINAL Guardians of the Galaxy were also from the 70s. They were heroes/rebels in a future where Earth was conquered by an alien race. Yondu was one of the originals, but he is quite different in this movie.
Mitchum Huntzberger (Gregg Henry), Sean Gunn, Nathan Fillion (voice of the prisoner Groot sticks his finger into the nose of) and Michael Rook were all in James Gunn’s horror movie Slither. Gunn uses the same actors in his projects.

Hi Guys, the collector is Benicio Del Toro.

The actress playing Nebula is actually Karen Gillan guys.
5:48 good back scratcher, sometimes I want one too 😀
Mark 10:13. "Terra", being an alternate name for, "Earth", along with, "Gaia". Think of, "Terra Firma". 🤓
10:03 While it is admittedly used in some Science Fiction, *Terra* is not a _space word_ for Earth. It's actually an ancient Earth word,¹ literally meaning _"earth."_ Think, _"Terrain."_
It was written on the screen, so I ran it back several times, but I swear you guys are saying _"Kilm."_ It's *Kiln,* _not kilm._ Otherwise, *Jane's* definition is essentially correct.
This has been your Linguistics lesson for today. 😉
I imagine someone already mentioned this, but just in case they didn't: That big blue alien that threatens *Peter* in prison (15:14) is played by *Nathan Fillion.*
35:54 And as usual, you have to have at least one moment where *JV* is 100% sure of something and *Jane* is pretty sure he's wrong (which he is), but he doubles down. 😆
It's such a great dynamic because she's the one that's always made fun of for not knowing something. I love it when the tables are turned! 😄

Quasar is actually the guardian with similar powers to the lanterns. Nova prime has a completely different power set.
Actually both are, quasar is similar to lanterns in terms of power while the nova Corp is similar in term of military structure
Groot’s scary then Groot turns and smiles
The blue skinned alien who gets his nose tweaked by Groot is played by Nathan Fillion from Firefly

I did not expect THAT paid promo. 😆
Yes, Guardians of the Galaxy was a fairly obscure comic book. Basically, Marvel was trying to cash in on the space opera craze in the 70s.
When this was announced, I thought it was a bad idea. I never cared for the comic book, and I was convinced that Rocket & Groot would be too "comic book-y" for mainstream audiences. I mean, come on, an angry racoon and a talking tree who only says "I am Groot"?
The actor that played as Ronan was in hobbit as the elf king that wanted his wife’s jewelry back
It's the best one for 3D as well
They are making a 3rd part
There's a third one on the way
Good video 👍🏻
This movie was great, nice reaction btw. The characters were all great even the villains IMO. Ronan ans nice and had so much potential, wish he made it. And I just loved nebula in this movie, she was just so awesome and interesting. And you had to feel bad for her when Thanos called Gamora his favorite daughter right in front of her.
Nah, Ronan was an ERJB (evil robot Jeff Bridges) just like Yellowjacket, Abomination, Hella, Malekith, etc. etc. etc.
I really need to play the Guardians of the galaxy video game now lol, these movies have such great music in them
You should watch gardians of the galaxy vol. 2 after because it chronologically take place 2 months after this one
Terra is the official designation for our planet, it's Latin for 'land'. Kind of like how Luna is the official name of the Moon, and Sol for the Sun, not "The Moon" or "The Sun".
Words like terrain and terraforming are derived from this. If referring to humans by their planet of origin, one would call us Terrans (just as a human born on Mars would be a Martian, or on a moon or station orbiting Jupiter would be a Jovian).
Groot's species' has a peculiarity of their physiology where as they age their larynx hardens to the point where they can only say "I am Groot". Those who hang out long enough with one or take an elective at Asgard University can tell what they're saying by the subtle inflections and tones they use when saying I am Groot.
Gamora and Nebula are quite obviously 'adopted' Daughters of Thanos, they're part of a group known as the Children of Thanos who are comprised of kids that he saved from his conquests of their planets and trained to be his personal hit squad. Thanos is not a nice dude.
Taneleer Tivan is one of the Elders of the Universe, a group of people who are the last members of their respective races. Each has a quirk that they indulge, such as The Collector (obviously collects things), the Grandmaster who holds tournaments and competitions, etc. etc. In the comics, Carina is actually Tivan's daughter.
Ronan the Accuser is a Kree from the planet Hala. The Kree are a fairly authoritarian and warlike race that are definitely a lot stronger than most others, and there are actually two kinds of Kree: the big blue skinned ones, and ones that look like humans.
The guy you're referring to towards the end in regards to the Nova Corps is actually in this film, Denarian Garthan Saal, who becomes the hero Supernova in the comics, and contains the power of the entire Nova Corps within his body.
Talk about a bad day lol
Footloose was a Kevin Bacon movie

Mark 25:07. The remake movie was inspired by the original movie, that in turn was inspired by the book, that in turn was based on a true story that took place in.....
Footloose is loosely based on the town of Elmore City, Oklahoma. The town had banned dancing since its founding in 1898 in an attempt to decrease the amount of heavy drinking. One advocate of the dancing ban was the Reverend from the nearby town of Hennepin, F.R. Johnson. He said, "No good has ever come from a dance. If you have a dance somebody will crash it and they'll be looking for only two things - women and booze. When boys and girls hold each other, they get sexually aroused. You can believe what you want, but one things leads to another." Because of the ban on dancing, the town never held a prom. In February 1980, the junior class of Elmore City's high school made national news when they requested permission to hold a junior prom and it was granted. The request to overturn the ban in order to hold the prom was met with a 2-2 decision from the school board when school board president Raymond Lee broke the tie with the words, "Let 'em dance."
In 1981, Lynden, a small town in Washington State, passed an ordinance that banned the practice of dancing at events and locations where alcohol would be served. This incident received national attention. And since this event happened only years before Footloose was released, the local residents believe that these two things are not a coincidence.
Something people get wrong all the time about space, you don't die instantly, and you don't freeze. The capillaries on your skin might burst, and you can't breath, and that's it. Theoretically, you could live for several minutes, without brain damage, possibly longer.
This. Things in space freeze eventually, but they don't freeze fast, because vacuum is an insulator. A human has about fifteen seconds of oxygen in their bloodstream before they lose consciousness, at which point you start the same brain oxygen timer for anything else. The advantage is that if you restore atmosphere in time they usually wake up on their own, since there's nothing physically preventing the processes from restarting like damage or fluid in the lungs.
People also overestimate the power of a vacuum. There was that hole in the ISS a couple of years ago that someone just plugged with their finger while they got out the tape for a temporary patch.
Anyway, yeah, accuracy of vacuum exposure is one of the many reasons GotG is so great. I think Star Trek Discovery is the only other sci-fi property to ever get it right.
@@wcookiv Actually, the Expanse does an amazing job of showing what happens in the vacuum of space.
Terra is Latin for Earth, so Terran is essentially translates to Earthling

have you already watched the entire MCU? i saw you reacted the the WandaVison trailer before the movies and you said you already saw Endgame, but i see no reaction for it. Just curious.
From what I understand, JV's seen a few of them, but not all. Jane's seen almost none until this series - with the exception of infinity war in theaters. However, they had to leave early because her water broke (for their first daughter) and didn't see the end. I don't know about Endgame though.
Great reaction.. also it went for ages? Hopefully that means the rules have relaxed a bit for reactions in general.
I think you got Rocket's origin mixed up with Lobo's origin. Lobo is a DC anti-hero who wanted to the only one of his kind so he killed everybody on his planet & then blew up his planet. Rocket is an actual raccoon who taken by an alien race & experimented on to became a caretaker of the alien races elderly population. He has other anthropomorphic creatures with him on his planet. His planet is called Halfworld. He doesn't have an American accent in the comics either. He has an Australian accent instead. He's an even worse asshole in the comics than he is in the movies. No Stan Lee didn't have anything to do with the Guardians Of The Galaxy when the comic came out. The only character in this movie that Stan Lee had something to do with it was Groot who he created in the 1950s. His first creation was The Fantastic Four in 1961. He then started creating characters throughout the 1960s & ending in 1970.

Please make this easy.
Are you asking how patreon works?
It's a subscription service, where artists, reactors, and writers can put out their content and those that want to support them can subscribe to them for early access, or behind the scenes stuff, or anything they put in their tiers.
It's up to each content creator to decide how much each tier is worth, and the content that falls in to it.
It's entirely on the user to decide who to sub to, and a balance of "what kind of benefits do I want" VS personal financial accountability.
Anybody who subscribes to the highest tier automatically gets everything in the lower tiers.
TL;DR - - A patreon ACCOUNT is free, but subscribing to a user is not.
It's a KILN....not kill. LOL
