As far as I know, both the PSP and this version of Crisis Core are the same in terms of general gameplay. I think the Remake version has an extra quest or materias, but overall, it's really just an updated graphics engine. I played both and loved every bit of this. Also another further recommendation: There are several hundred missions, you don't have to do them all (unless you want trophies), but they can be very beneficial for rare materias or armors, and you should probably do some of them offscreen as some of the later ones can be very time consuming. Look forward to watching your reactions to this awesome story.
Nice, this fighting high health big enemies reminds me of Dragon's Dogma, but I stopped playing Dragon's Dogma a long time ago because I kept going back and forth between the two same areas, and there's no direction in that game to get you to new areas. It's a shame because it seemed like a really good game, but if a game has no good direction to guide you into new areas, it's a deal breaker for me. Good video buddy!
No it was.made in 2006 it was remastered... The difference is the OG voice actor Gomez, wrnt hard and nailed the emotion in a way that had me tearing up
The reason is because the script is still word for word the exact same as the psp version...if they updated the script, translation/lokalisation and updated w Remake in mind...im sure the voice actors had more to work with ..the dialogue is very cringe inducing at times a d has not aged well @@silverhand9965
Yay! Crisis Core! I played it back when it came out for the PSP and so many times (I still have my copy and my PSP). I played it so much on the train going to school i did so many missions on my commutes, thats why I got the Switch version of Reunion when this Remaster came out since im so used to play it on portables. I adore this game. It is by no mreans perfect but its so charming and you can feel the love the creators have for these characters so well. Hope you enjoy your playthrough getting to know our best boy Zack ❤
Hype, as always. A couple of pointers or things you may find useful or interesting: The DMW is the crux of the gameplay. Think of it like Cloud's Punisher Mode or Yuffie's Ninjutsu - a character specific playstyle that Zack uses to differentiate from Cloud. I'd recommend reading through the tutorial mail in depth on your own time, but a quick crash course off the top of my head: The character faces correlate to the limit break which will become available when all three images match in the reels. When this happens, you can press triangle at any point to use that limit. When the numbers on the reel all read 7, Zack himself levels up, and when the reel numbers match any other number, the materia you have equipped to a corresponding numbered slot will level up. So if you have your first materia slotted as Fire, getting a 1-1-1 in battle will level up that Fire. Also, Materia behaves differently in this game vs. OG. A Cure materia will never advance into a Cura/Regen/Curaga through natural growth, you'll need to find a Cura materia to use Cura, a Firaga materia to use Firaga, etc.
We started Crisis Core at the same time 😁 I already played it on psp a long long time ago and since it's "free" on ps extra atm I wanted to give it another go. Still looking forward to seeing you play it as well. But tbf coming from rebirth, the fighting system kinda sucks 😂 still excited to revisit all the characters
ya its a bit of a slow start, stick with it and you will see some good story parts. It may not be the best game, but its good. Beware there are plenty of missions, most are tedious, but if you beat them all you will get a secret boss fight that is harder then the final boss and a lot of loot in the process. It was designed this way to be more of a play and go gameplay since the psp is a portable system.

I know the original was made before the Remake. I was referring to the version I am playing. It was released in 2022.
Honestly the new voice actor got way better in rebirth, really came into Zack's character then. But yeah Reunion was a bit rough
