The Buggy is performing really well. Great job on the project. Light weight rain gear like a waterproof windbreaker is the key in wet conditions even in spring/summer trail riding. That saved me from being soaked and chilled many times. Might want to consider a small dry box to keep some gear protected out on the trails. Like a few others mentioned, ride at your own pace for now and when you get more comfortable with the buggy speed will come naturally. It is a custom build after all and needs to be broken in/tested safely.
I admire the outstanding professional job that you have done, I built one in 1977 with the first motorcycle engine I got pulled over by the Highway Patrol for doing 65 mph in third gear what a blast!!
Fenders will help keep the occasional stick from shooting up and stabbing you as well. Many have learned this the hard way. Some sheet metal where your left leg rests and the passengers right leg rest on the frame would help as well. I've seen where sticks went though the floor in side by sides as well.
On a Yamaha Wolverine i had a pushed over tree pointing towards me deflect up the leg of my shorts and tear my underwear off as it went up next to my footpeg, straight up the leg of my shorts, out the waistband and belt and my drawers were on the end of it 6 feet above my head. NOT A SCRATCH!. Bought steel mesh footboards the next day!
Never push faster than u are comfortable, screw the comments. Safety first, then teamwork.... And video looks slower than real life usually. If you are having fun on the trail, you are winning!
Agree 100%... However, as a viewer I would like to see a video or segment where he hands the wheel to someone qualified to push it towards the boundaries he made it for. Because he made a monster, and we watched the whole build just waiting to see it off leash....and this is just taking it to the backyard to poop.
look how the water comes in at 5:45, The tires are shooting the water straight into his face from the bottom, fenders wouldn't help at all. He needs sheet metal in front of the foot area and a windshield. Maybe even some sheet metal flat off the front of the dash with a hole cut in it for the shock to go through and could cut a piece of rubber to cover the hole and seal around the shock.
This thing makes me want to build one with a Suzuki samuri drivetrain and axles and tube body I think you really need a plexi glass window lol maybe even make a trailer just for this thing something you can tilt the bed and drive on and off like a snowmobile trailer or boat trailer nice video bud
Thats awesome man, I bought some acreage right near there. Sweet trails, maybe I'll see you out there sometime. Splash guards! Just pay attention to where the puddle water goes and install sheet metal to block it.. you'll skate right over it.
i knew this buggy had some potential, and you are starting to scratch the surface of what this rig is capable of, you've built a sweet rig, and with some fine tuning and tweaks you'll make it even better
Looks fun! Whenever there are trees that close to the trail, it is not a good place to go fast, you were doing just fine. Make friends with it first before you beat on it. Just throwing this out there, body panels can be made out of plastic that is built just like cardboard and comes in different colors. Realtors use this material for signs. And use zip-ties to hold them in place. It’s a light weight solution. Now that you’re done with the buggy, build an airplane, learn how to fly it and get sponsors to pay for it.
I just want to start off saying the stuff you build is pretty sick. But come on bro let that thing EAT! I get that you might not want to break it but I would rip up those trails and if something broke then it's a chance to make it stronger
You could buy these cheap Baofang UV-9RPLUS VHF/UHF 15 watt RADIO'S that you can get an earpiece with voice operated mic for communicating while you are out driving through the woods. They cost about 30 - 50 USD for the radio plus the extra mic/earpiece so they are a really good deal, a lot of amateur radio operators use them, I have one for using on my boat for emergencies.
That looks like a blast to drive! It's an amazing build. You should look up foam mold fiberglassing for your panels to keep the splash out. It's super easy to do.
This thing is awesome! Designed & built from the ground up. It's a given that you will have to do some tweaks along the way. These people talking crap most of them haven't ever built something even close to this. You're awesome, Screw the haters...
I live not 2mi from Doe Mountain. Did yuns stop at Hardee's? I've road ALL of the mountains in Johnson County. Great place to ride. If you have a street bike, the 421 Snake it a great ride too
Looks and sounds great. Handles the weight decent too. I agree that if your going to be riding in mostly wooded areas, you'd should have some body on it. Protect you from water, logs and branches from coming through the frame and hitting you. Cheers man..
Awesome, the buggy is killing it! Getting wet and muddy is all part of the fun, you’re living life in the fun lane! Well done 👍 Maybe some night time driving hey? 😀👍
I got it make some finders that move with the tires then maybe used some kinda light weight plastic panels to the cage that are easily removable 👍. Ps your getting it all the couch watchers think there speed racers but most would be way slower I'm sure keep it up love the videos 👍
Awesome build !!! Put a Harley engine in it then they sell reverse gear for the trans for the trike harleys, and nice 103 fuel injected 6speed with reverse would be epic
No protection from the elements, like big mud holes... Lol A few pieces of sheeting on the front by your pedals and on the sides would help, plus bring dry clothes in a waterproof bag or something.. looked like a lot of fun... Thanks for the video
That thing is pretty awesome if you don't already have one I would definitely put a temperature gauge on it a nice electronic one so you can keep a watch on your temps just in case. A+ on the build tho will you be releasing any build plans on it?
Dont listen to all the little twerp back seat drivers who spend their lives playing video games. I think you have made an awesome machine and you are driving at the correct speed for the terrain you are on. Take your time getting to know the buggy and getting to know the trails you are driving on before engaging hoolagin mode.
Yeah man for sure. Also. Who the f wants to wreck a brand new build!! Stupid. Not everyone has mommy and daddy Money. This kid is where it’s at. Built it and now having fun in it.
speed and rally\videogame driving is not the most important thing here. It's the awesomeness of something you have designed and built working really well and the fun in tweaking the design over time to work even better.
I notice some viewers made comments about adding a reverse I just completed my reverse using a ford ranger flywheel and starter. You can mount the flywheel next to rear sprocket. Fast reverse with great torque. On the job site this week will take picture next weekend.
*****Idea for a necessary project: Fab up a high torque low speed “Tug”to drag and move projects around......and the trailer too! It needs to have reverse.
I wouldn’t change a thing about the buggy it’s amazing the camera doesn’t bounce around much so it rides well has the power no sides maybe fenders just for rocks water is supposed to get you wet lol would love to see it in mud Wouldn’t want to clean it afterwards but watching would be cool all and all hats off to an amazing build
You taped the exhaust so rain... why didn't you bring/wear rain gear. And about the speed, it's going to look slow on video regardless but I think it's a good pace for unknown track. If you know every bump corner enz.. than yeah you can go faster
Hey dude you should see about some somewhat thin sheets of plexiglass to use as a windshield and some on the cockpit of the VF so you won't get drenched like hell again and you'll still be able to see everything since their clear
It's awesome but it could use a high-mounted brake light so the guy behind knows when your braking. Yeah I want to see you rip on it as well but that trail is too narrow and I understand that a guy has to get used to the thing first. Maybe you could take it to a gravel pit or something and really rip on it.
A little advice,,if ya go trail riding some fenders and clear plastic body panels will help with splash and make a spot to secure a 5 gal can of gas ,,nothing like pushing one for 2 miles,, v.v
Missed a couple videos of this build but it really came out great! but not enough power for that big buggy, it might do well with a supercharger or turbocharger.
Yeah you're wood loading ramps are bending hard those things came so close to braking when you onloaded the buggy. Some medal ones would definitely be better. But that thing is still of course AWESOME! Great build love the grave Ninja to. Keep up the great videos!
I think you should reinforce upper front shock mounts. Those loops aren't attached that great, if you hit one sided bump, it might twist the mounts to one side.
NEWS SPLASH!! water + mud trail + no weather protection on the buggy = what could possibly go wrong?!! nice seeing the buggy, it does look easier to handle though, as not so much feedback through to the steering wheel either.
Look like some fun trails and I appreciate all the different camera views. Maybe you can have your friend drive ahead and then get some footage of you driving by, some cornering, hill climbs, and fun stuff like that. Also, I might be the only one, but I thought the video could be edited down a bit. 30 minutes is a bit long especially when the trails are all pretty much the same. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise, thanks for all the great content! And if people think you’re driving too slow just tell them to watch it on 1.5 speed. Haha
Running the engine too cold is just as bad for it as running too hot . I would install a thermo switch from the vfr to control the fans then it will run at the proper temp all the time. a small heater core could be added then and defrost a windshield + keep you warmer.
It's cool your riding in a rig that you designed and built.
I hope you realize that you are truly talented and you can have a very bright career ahead if you partner with the right people.

Of all the buggy builds I have seen on the tube, yours is best. Well done! Looks like a alot of fun.
Awesome to see you having fun in that thing!!! I need to finish my golf cart.... Keep it up!!
To help keep yourself dry, I would say that fenders on the front tires would make a huge impact on reducing the wake while still keeping it stylish
look how the water comes in at 5:45, The tires are shooting the water straight into his face from the bottom, fenders wouldn't help at all. Rain coat
@@catfisher420 Yeah, filling in that area as well as above would still be considered a fender.
fenders on a trail rig is for sissys lol NO FENDERS!!!!!! YES ON A REVERSE
stylish??? WOW.
That thing is too big not to have reverse. Lol
Yeah an large atv eng setup with reverse like a 400 grizzly might be the better option,,altho I see why he wanted to go the streetbike rout.
He has reverse. It’s his winch. 😉
That’s how he loads it on the trailer.
This thing makes me want to build one with a Suzuki samuri drivetrain and axles and tube body I think you really need a plexi glass window lol maybe even make a trailer just for this thing something you can tilt the bed and drive on and off like a snowmobile trailer or boat trailer nice video bud
Plexi glass windows, and some maybe plastic body panels to close of the cab a bit
Great run Chris ! Cart ran those trails like it was riding roads.Looked like a really great break in/ fun run ! Just Awesome !
Learning about fenders? What a good thing to learn!
Awesome, keep up with all the great content! I love how that buggy still has the sport bike sound to it.
The VF1000 is every boys dream of what a go kart can grow up and be. Wow!
Nah, a SXS UTV is.
This vid made me want to go back and watch your build series...awesome job man...this thing rocks
The paint job looks great. Good choices.
Thats awesome man, I bought some acreage right near there. Sweet trails, maybe I'll see you out there sometime.

I mean hey, who doesn't want an airplane 😂😂
I love how the buggy turned out it looks and sounds awesome great job 👍

Just have fun, who cares what strangers say. Awesome place to ride.
Trails kinda boring I have seen rougher drive ways
@@motorhead1884 Comment was lame, I"ve seen more creative trolls.
@@esqueue ok idk what you mean I'm just saying those trails look like golf cart trails I'd be going crazy riding that slow
That looks like a blast to drive! It's an amazing build. You should look up foam mold fiberglassing for your panels to keep the splash out. It's super easy to do.
Awesome again,what a machine!
The buggy turned out really good
Forget fenders you need a wet suit and snorkel haha. That buggy rips! Nice work.
This thing is awesome! Designed & built from the ground up. It's a given that you will have to do some tweaks along the way. These people talking crap most of them haven't ever built something even close to this. You're awesome, Screw the haters...
Bobbed short fenders, front and rear, but with big old mud flaps..... and a bit of thin aluminum panels, and maybe a windsheild with a long wiper. 😎
Dont worry about how fast you go all these guys on here will have a different opinion just do you and go the speed that you have fun at man

You might want to add a rear view mirror just to be a little safer or busier trails.
Soo lee truck didn't like pulling it either😂👍doesn't look like the wood planks like it much either
i love it just some finnishing touches and even better.
Wicked mate she handled that easy nice camera angles too ,wear some wet weathers n enjoy getting soaked it's part of the fun goodonya mate cheers
Awesome, the buggy is killing it! Getting wet and muddy is all part of the fun, you’re living life in the fun lane! Well done 👍 Maybe some night time driving hey? 😀👍
Things yet to do on the VF1000:
Fenders
Mud Flaps
Sheet metal body panels
Caulk said body panels to make it more watertight.
Nice video great build great accomplishment
I got it make some finders that move with the tires then maybe used some kinda light weight plastic panels to the cage that are easily removable 👍. Ps your getting it all the couch watchers think there speed racers but most would be way slower I'm sure keep it up love the videos 👍
You might want to try a piece of Lexan or Plexiglas as a windshield. But that is a totally awesome buggy you built! Thanks for sharing!
Nice start, straight into water :)
Great build great engineering on that cart ride it to enjoy it not tear it up
The handling looks exceptional but maybe some larger tires in the back! 😉
What an awesome and talented individual.
Dude that thing rips! Such a success man!
As always I love what you do
Ya'll need some metal ramps. Those ones are gonna break.
Nah probably not, wood can flex.
What newb I've been using my wood rams for 5 years very often for a zero turn it'll be fine bud
Looks like its working real good. Ignore them 'too slow' guys, their butt isn't in the seat and this thing isn't in Forza.
You always got to take it easy on unknown terrane and after a good rain. the roads can wash out but we all want to see this thing go full out.
Nice job,,but I think this beast deserves bigger wheels
you should put some aluminum panels on the sides and roof
I want one. When can I take Deliverance?
"All I be reequirin' is you git yer ass up in them woods boy!"
You need to take this rig to the dunes... it’s not built for trail riding. She needs speed 😎
Awesome build !!! Put a Harley engine in it then they sell reverse gear for the trans for the trike harleys, and nice 103 fuel injected 6speed with reverse would be epic

I feel like a big field or open area would be more beneficial of a test (if possible) but i actually PREFER to see you learning the feel of it.
That thing is pretty awesome if you don't already have one I would definitely put a temperature gauge on it a nice electronic one so you can keep a watch on your temps just in case. A+ on the build tho will you be releasing any build plans on it?

On the trailer seems to be doing well
You have an amazing buggy.
Man people are always going to have their opinions, not to worry you have built something that not many could’ve just enjoy it.
That's so sweet it looks like a boss
The vf1000 buggy has an obscene wheelbase for riding on trails. It was not meant for that. It's like a limousine trying to go offroad.
I have a Kandia 250 buggy and I have the same problem. always have to slow down when driving near water.
That looks like a lot of fun

Look at the fenders on the Ariel Adam nomad. This will work and look good doing it.
Just driving on a trail is boring man hit some mud climb some hills that's why you got the power and tires for.
I was really hoping to see you do some off Trail 4 × 4 ing just to see how it did.
