@@hvacbudget8600 I guess at least show the main knife against both paper (basic sharpness, precision) and something stronger like paracord or a cable tie. Maybe a stick or piece of wood for the saw - cut off a small chunk. Does the saw go through it easily, does it need effort, do the teeth catch? For the pliers, hold and squeeze something - do they feel comfortable, or do edges bite into your hands? That's always been an annoying thing for me with some multitools. Here's another...How hard can you squeeze something without the pliers deforming? Are they "light duty" or heavier? All these should be quick things you can do while you're showing the tool.

Some of the Wave clones using the back of the frame to keep the handles solid in the open position.
It's not a problem with a spring loaded plier head. If it's not spring loaded I recommend only buy pliers with positive spring tension on the joints because if the cutters bind up it's a pain to operate the loosened clones. Swiss+Tech for example always leave the support springs out. I'm not sure about DaiCamping, but if my memory serves me well the exact clones where you get the pinch point between the knifes are have the spring. The multiforce types usually not.

Pocket clip seems like it would allow you to prioritize the serrated vs the plain edge. What I’d like to see is something that allows left pocket, or right rear pocket carry. My wave eventually got so loose that it would open in my pocket, unless it was in my right front pocket.

Leatherman should be afraid, they've had the market for ages on what can clearly be done inexpensively and still maintain enough usability. There's no excuse anymore for their old infamous 25 year warranty if they still can't get spring tempering that won't break apart and have to discontinue lines entirely before that 25 year could even come close to being honored. Glad I never sent my squirt in since it'd have come back a micra from what I hear. Good tool but not what I paid for.
The only arrow to leatherman's quiver anymore will be high end materials on their legacy tools, specialty runs, and potentially some new make or model that keeps them relevant. As far as their 'budget' lineup that's crept up past 50 dollars a pop, Rev, Sidekick, Wingman, those days are over in a huge way. Collectors might want to grab some while they're still in around, wish I'd been able to afford a Crunch when they were re-introduced.

Now that Leatherman has surpassed its patent date it seems like there are a ton of clones. I cant say they are better than Leatherman, quality wise, or weight wise, however for most people the newer clones do the job well enough at one fifth the price. And " most people" includes the rest of the world outside of America. Leatherman is trying to market itself as "premium" which I think is a mistake in the long run. I prefer American made brands, but at the price point, I cant justify the Leatherman for tools I'd beat up. For instance the Leatherman Rev is good tool for what it is, but it's price point was way too high. When I found them on clearance at Home Depot and bought 5 of them for $30, I completely stopped using my Victorinox knives, my Skeletool, and my Wave (for most tasks).

You do a great job with “intro” videos - this is xyz Multitool, here is the toolset, here is how it feels and compares. Like with anything - tools, knives, firearms, and all gadgets - we really don’t know if we like them until we spend time with them. Please offer a video of long term usage. Yeah, they're certainly trying to mimic the scales of a Leatherman Free. That mini flathead driver seems very delicate as you have described in that past, its displeasing to me to see it over and over again. If they really wanted to improve upon this design, just put a replaceable micro driver for eyeglasses, etc. If the Chinese like something, they make there own version of it out of flattery. There's a money making aspect to it, anyone can see that. For me, I believe in copywrites and registered trademarks so its a fine line for me, respectfully. I would imagine its very hard and technical to enforce these laws internationally. I think the Chinese are very smart people but I would like to see something of their own make and compete with Leatherman, SOG, Victorinox and Gerber with something totally different. I would still prefer to buy a Leatherman Rev with overseas components and have a warranty, like SOG and Gerber which are mostly made overseas than to have no warranty at all. Being made overseas isn't necessarily a bad thing but unfortunately way too much is coming from China.

I don't see why Leatherman wouldn't be instead insanely happy about that, cause that pattern on the outside is a pretty stupid design copy to make, which can potentially confuse customers and which opens them wide for a copyright/design lawsuit. While other parts could have been argued away by technical necessity for the tools/rounding to be more comfortable, copying the exact same pattern can't. So, good luck to whoever cloned that.
