Thank you Hyundai for being bold and not boring like others , this is ace on so many levels
Really...it's a square box on wheels...
It basically looks like a land rover EV with no character or elegance.... It's boxy... That's it... There's nothing cool about it and if hyundai was Chinese, people would've already called this to be a cheap copy of land rover....
It looks like a Ford Flex
Agreed, it’s super daring and risky.
I hope everyone tried to go artistic on their own way and not copy one another
@@imdone1967you're a square head with square pants
This is insane! Im tired of trading my car in every 2 years! Kia and Hyundai keep coming out with awesome cars! I just got the 2023 Kia Niro but now this is on my bucket list.
All looks well till you get to that rear end
SsanYong Rodious rear end anyone. John Cadogen Auto Expert AU. An Aussie. Totally ripped it.
It's intentional. And it's definitely an interesting design.
Nothing wrong with the back end to be honest. Just remove that Santa Fe badging and you're good to go.
That rear end is awful 😮
Agreed😅
One thing I can say is that Hyundai is extremely bold. They are trying to surpass themselves! I love what they are doing! 😊
Copying Land Rovers?
Copying a Ford Flex from years ago...lmao😂
This thing is hideous...
@@msalzberg4962Koreans always get away but in reality they're just as bad as Chinese in copying... 😅
Looks like a cheap copy of the Dacia Bigster. Imagine that.
Hideous things these SUVs. Awful. Unnecessarily aggressive ego tools for moms doing grocery shopping and school pickups.
@@msalzberg4962 where they copied? just it is boxy? where? four wheel?
I love it! For me this has shades of the big American SUV's such as the Lincoln Aviator and the GMC Yukon. I love the design of the rear end and the interior is a big move upmarket. The new Santa Fe may very well be on my shopping list when I move home to France from England. Well done Hyundai!
I actually find it very interesting. It grabs attention. The more I look at the car the more I like its funky design.
Agree, same with the Ioniq 5 & 6. Certainly not beautiful in a traditional sense, but coherent designs with lots of interesting details.
Wow, I am honestly impressed with this car. Its also good to hear they are improving build quality and reliability
Love how Hyundai decided to set that piece of Korean architecture on the background 🥰 It’s also my favorite color too!
I never considered a Santa Fe before this new model. My favourite style is the one we are seeng being shown here, its a shame it's not available in the UK though. Besides that, Hyundai have surpassed themselves with this one. A big thumbs up.
I didn’t expect to feel this way, but I love this Santa Fe, would love to have it! 🤩
Why back turning lights needs to be so stupidly low?? I hate that…
The inspiration from Range Rover is absolutely obvious but the result is fantastic, great job Hyundai
Very similar to Toyotas latest offering……
@@metalmicky That's was my first thought regarding the wheel arches but otherwise it looks much, much better, the Rav4 looks stuck in the past
They are great at copying
@@metalmickyexcept the Toyota Land Cruiser is an actual legendary 4x4. This is a fake😊
@@MikeForsythe Look at their other cars, they are great at designing
Don't like the low placed indicators on all Hyundai's. Why are they on the rear bumper?
Great review, Will - a bold, modern and customer oriented, thoughtful design. Your final shot of the different SUVs price comparison has convinced me to contact Hyundai when the Santa Fe comes out next year, thank you.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
The back end would scare a police horse....😱
This car eliminates the need for a Palisade. So is Hyundai discontinuing the Palisade?
Hyundai is like that renaissance artist that is constantly itself and evolving into something superior
I see G-Wagon inspiration on the rear. I overall LOVE IT!!
Looks good. Hyundai is on the roll with their new products rolling out. Better than most cars in the industry.
I'll go with a Mazda CX-90
good for you @@imdone1967
You are over 60 years old, so mazda is right. But for youngsters, Hyundai Santa Fe is the best.
@user-qg2zl2cm6j best at what? This thing is a square box on wheels! Love all the H's everywhere on this ugly box...
@@imdone1967 Mazda doesn't know if they want to be compact or luxury. My vote goes to Hyundai.
That rear looks like a mini van. And im sure it will grow on us. And a tan upholstery or black would look dope. Rest is just awesome.
Every part of the car i love, but the rear just killed it
I'm a massive fan of the new boxy style. Just wish they changed their logo accordingly :D Onto a serious note: hope the engines won't lack that much power, this deserves to pack a similar punch to the X5.
I generally like the styling apart from the rear end which brings the whole design down.
Yes, this design is more refined on the new Defender.
+1, but the rear end has grown on me, it's different and I actually like it now :)
The bottom half of that rear reminds me of the Volkswagen T3 combi van.
In terms of features and out of the box thinking, Hyundai never disappoint. 🤟🏻
Pretty much BOX thinking in this one ))
They just copied the land rover discovery like chinese company.
Really cool. Looks identical to my grandmothers Ford Flex. Identical. The designers clearly had a Flex and older Explorer and said let’s do it.
I cannot unsee the ‘92 Geo Metro rear end
Looks awesome. Finally the old Discovery 4 great looks are being replicated.
Glad to see proper switches on the steering wheel and knobs for temperature control; Mercedes, BMW etc please take note!
Love the front, what were they thinking in the rear.
Rear reminds me of a GMC motorhome from the 1970’s.
This isn't quite what I want from a Santa Fe, but being a first and second Gen owner, I can appreciate the new head room, on the second gen at 6'2" my heads basically toughing the ceiling, I don't think I would make it in a roll over.
Great looking car - yes even that ever-so-practical rear end. Definitely an improvement on the original model and is an interesting and attractive design. However, if you just need to seat 7 passengers don't exclude the Dacia Jogger at less than half the price of this.
Thats a big upgrade for Santa Fe, especially the interior, although its more of a miniVan style for family with few kids, price wise might stop potential buyers where they can choose X3/4 or GLC for much better resell value down the road.
Will the PHEV be getting a heat pump and an EV mode so it can run in any weather with interior heating on without using the engine? omitting a heat pump was a big drawback of the PHEV in the states. also if the do have a heat pump I hope they will allow the vehicle to precondition while plugged in at home.
Side profile reminds me a little of the ford flex and the rear end is reminiscent of the 1st gen BMW X5
Hyundai has launched a micro SUV in India called Exter and the front is really similar in both of the cars.
Wife’s considering one of these for her next car. Thanks for the informative walkthrough 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love it, Captains Chairs!!!! Land Rover get with the program!! Please!!
Love it, can't wait to see it in person.
Hyundai has been killing it lately!
Yea with their looks. Not with literally anything else 😂
@@dylanverkler4552Talk about luxury, buddy!
Nice design from Hyundai ❤
Interesting concept and you can bet on a 20% increase in price over the outgoing model which currently tops out at £50k in the UK. I bet the Ultimate model will top £60k.
I know the exterior and interior styling is very derivative of Range Rover/Land Rover but to me that’s no bad thing at all - I think it’s a very attractive car, modern and well designed without any resort to tackiness, and it actually doesn’t look like like a ‘fake range rover’ Asian knockoff. The interior is quite stylish and chic - if only Mercedes and BMW could make something this tasteful! I wonder what sacrifice to rear loadspace the hybrid will bring on our UK models, but I for one am extremely excited by this car.
My only gripe is that the Hyundai ‘H’ logo is now a bit swoopy looking on such a wonderfully boxy design - I wouldn’t have minded seeing a more squared-off badge. The logo looked more in line with the (horrible) old styling.
I could also have done without the Defender-lite side panels next to the windows - I hate them on the defender and they’re even worse borrowed on this design.
FANTASTIC INTERIOR WELL DONE
Don’t know but honestly it looks quite good from every angle, such a bold design by Hyundai.
Rear end looks perfect 👌😍 discovery on budget
This was the best over view of a car I have seen in years, I work at a Hyundai dealership. Hyundai of Yakima in WA. Thank you for this. we still haven't seen one in person yet.
Glad you liked it!
The steering wheel enhances the Land Rover feel even more
저 스티어링 휠은 1986년 출시했던 그랜저의 스티어링 휠을 오마주 한 것
Very impressive. I was already resigned to replacing my wife's 2017 CR-V with another CR-V. Looks like I have an alternative to research.
Turn signals should be higher,,, if they can do that thin, they could have put them next to the back window
Now thats a properly designed SUV.
Another knock out design from Hyundai - looks great and I think Land Rover may have missed a trick by moving away from the Disco 4s design language - this chunky squared off styling is hugely appealing. The Disco 4 is still way better looking than its successor in my opinion, something that hasn't escaped Hyundai's designers its seems ! The only thing I find a bit cheeky is the steering wheel which actually does look like its fallen out of JLRs stores :)
That is a brilliant design and love that they're taking a risk
The 50k starting price range is that for the top trim ?
I love it! Hyundai are nice moving ahead of the opposition in ALL departments. I think this car will be huge for them.
Popular in the UK for towing, think the limited choice of engines is going to rule it out for towing. Certainly not in the frame for when my current Santa Fe lease finishes in May 2024 which is disappointing.
love it - just wish they'd make a model that had the wheel arches and connected trim (not the very bottom trim) painted to match the car color. Not a fan of gloss black trim.
Love it.. more square SUV please not a fan of blobby rounded look
looks good but i wish they had an option for 18s for the wheels. 45 series tires on an suv is terrible for ride comfort.
Excellent review. I didn't really like the gen 5 at first.. But it's growing on me big time 😍 Currently in a 2020. Our 3rd santa fe. Should we make it 4?😉
Looks pretty cool - but really don’t like the lights at the rear - especially when adding a rear bike rack into it.. Hoping that we can still get the 2.2 CRdi engine in A/NZ as it’s been solid especially when towing etc.. not interested in 1.6l turbo based on current models..
I’ve been loving the look of this model since I’d seen it on sm earlier this year and I’m excited to purchase my own, probably in this colour too ☺️
Bold, bolder than their GV70 interior design. Confidence is what the people are buying. Not always, but many times.
I like it a lot😀Have a recent previous generation model but may upgrade in 2024. Great tech. for this price-point. Families will not be disappointed I guarantee
That rear end kills it for me. Rodius for sure.
No diesel !!!???
No deal !!!!
Current gen owner and I LOVE the super economical diesel.
I'm out, been waiting for this, so Prado it is.
Rodius comparison is bang on. Most of the car looks good but the rear ...
Looks great from the front, front three quarter and the side. But the rear just looks wrong. Simply moving the tail lights higher would have made a huge difference. Don’t understand why Hyundai and Kia insist on placing indicators etc so low down.
i feel the rear lights styling is a bit off they are too low too close to the rear bumper, they should have done vertical style lights like range rover
the rear reminds me the one of the Mitsubishi Chariot/Hyundai Santamo.
really impressive design from hyundai
The 5 seater with shorter wheelbase will be so good
This Model it's beautiful 😮
YOUR BIGGEST KENYAN FAN RIGHT HERE, 10/08/2023
The styling is just what this sector wants….so, it’s likely to be a success. Elements are certainly derivative, but so are many SUVs on sale at present. Full marks for Hyundais design confidence.
they made a fake looking 4x4
This could be the best looking hearse ,ever...
The rear design has been the killer of this vehicle
Really hope the six seater is available in the UK.
I'm digging the look of this, but BRAIL on the steering wheel? Is Hyundai going after the elusive blind driver market?
Anyone spit out their coffee when they showed the rear?! 🤣
Love the boxy look excellent design i hope Hyundai improve engine and transmission quality
Looks awsome. Great video
All nice, but I'm still waiting for the dacia bigstar......
I love the bold design of this vehicle, Hyundai is really kicking butt with these designs. This design is edgy and masculine.
That A pillar of this new SantaFe looks exactly like that of Kia Carnival. I like it though.
There is some good thought gone into the design but I wouldn’t want to be sat behind it as you said that was straight out the bin from the ssanyong roadus - I know it was to has visible lights when the tailgate is open for USA hence lights being at the bottom but it needs vertical lights too even if they’re false and just for looks - the inside is brilliant and the external grab handle a great idea - the Land Rover Square Design makes it look good till you get to the back - it seems to have gained lots of good stuff from the ionic EV brand
I didn’t notice any aircon vents for second and third row of seats
all vent exist on side wall
Wow that looks incredible!!! I wonder whether they'll do an N version?
I like the boxy design, to me this car looks like Range Rover from the front angle.
Things I do not like though: No vents for the second row in the center armrest?
That flaps to reach roof rack or enter third row, look like a perfect place to collect water, debris or even trash thrown by a friendly bywalker.
Rear lights are too low, and would have looked much better if placed higher.
What's the point of a boxy shape and petrol only engine if there's barely any space in the 3rd row?
I've recently bought the current model, and love it. The only thing I find it hard to get used to (after my MB) is the touch screen panel. It looked great when you were using it, but as a right hander, in a RHD model, I find it difficult to use my left hand on the central display. I can't/won't touch it driving!!
On my MB, I could use the twist control in the centre quite easily.
RHD is a bit of an issue in may cars now... IMHO
As you say, takes its looks from the Discovery 4. I had 3 Discoverys but I didnt move onto the new shape as I dont like it . I could easily be tempted to buy this as it is also a plug in hybrid and better for the enviroment
The guy who said it looked like a gta car wasn't joking the front angle looks exactly like the Gallivanter Baller from gta5 10 years ago
You don't expect to be under $62,000? That is an enormous price jump from the 2023 model. I would not pay over $45,000 for an SUV that has 4 cylinder engine.
Are those isofix brackets in the third row? If so, I'm sold.
Hyundai, leveling up🔥🔥
